Best US Open 2025 Longshots: Can Ben Griffin Stay Hot?

Betting on US Open longshots can be a massively lucrative strategy because golf tournaments are often very competitive. While Scottie Scheffler is running wild nowadays, there are a handful of sleepers that deserve your attention for the upcoming major.

I share my best US Open 2025 longshots in this article, so keep reading for +3500 or higher underdogs that could win the tournament!

2025 US Open Sleepers: Summary

The following US Open 2025 longshots have the best chance of upsetting the odds:

Justin Thomas (+3500)

Despite not having a hallmark season, Justin Thomas is worth a bet as a longshot to win the US Open. Thomas has been having an inconsistent year, but there have been flashes at times that make him one of the best golfers in the world.

The 2017 and 2022 PGA Championship winner remains a dangerous contender regardless of his current form. And, with that in mind, Thomas has had his moments recently. The 32-year-old Louisville native won the RBC Heritage in a playoff over Andrew Novak on April 20.

Additionally, Thomas fired back to finish T2 in his next tournament in the Truist Championship. His hot form didn’t translate to having success in the PGA Championship at Muirfield Village. Thomas didn’t make the cut in a disappointing result in his quest for three PGA Championship titles.

That being said, Thomas ranks among the top golfers in several top metrics. He is fourth in SG: Total, eighth in SG: Approach to Green, and 14th in SG: Putting! Look for Thomas’ approach to green from the fairways and putting to come in handy around Oakmont Country Club.

Getting a golfer fourth in SG: Total at +3500 odds is a steal! In other words, I suggest Thomas as one of the best US Open 2025 longshots.

Ben Griffin (+6500)

Aside from Scheffler, there haven’t been many golfers on the PGA Tour much hotter than Ben Griffin. Following an impressive performance in the PGA Championship, the 29-year-old posted another strong effort at Colonial Country Club in the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Griffin won the tournament with a 12-under par to edge out Matthias Schmid. There was no hangover for him in the following tournament, either! The red-hot golfer couldn’t keep pace with Scheffler, but recorded a 6-under par to finish 2nd on June 1.

In 18 tournaments, Griffin has logged six top 10 performances on the PGA Tour. Additionally, the UNC product ranks above average in most major statistics, including SG: Total, where he is a respectable 18th this season.

He is also 56th in SG: Off the Tee and 21st in reaching greens in regulation. Griffin’s putter has also been reasonably kind to him, with a 54th ranking this year.

It would be an incredible run for Griffin to cap off this stretch with a win in the US Open. Although the odds suggest he won’t, I can’t help but sprinkle Griffin for one of my US Open 2025 underdogs at +6500!

Corey Conners (+6500)

The most dangerous Canadian in the field, Corey Conners, is also among my best US Open longshots. Conners has been on the verge of scoring a signature win several times in his career. He hasn’t been able to get over the hump, but I anticipate him notching that win before retiring.

The 33-year-old is one of the more consistent players on the PGA Tour. He is typically within striking range in the fourth round and is a machine when it comes to making the cut. In his latest outing in a major championship, Conners finished T8 in the Masters at Augusta National.

It was the second time in three weeks that Conners had a solid showing in a marquee tournament, which included T6 in The PLAYERS. Leading into that start, Conners finished 3rd in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Since the Masters, Conners’ best result was T11 in the Truist Championship.

Conners also showed up to log a rock-solid T19 in the PGA Championship this past May. Overall, Conners ranks 21st in SG: Total and a terrific ninth in SG: Off the Tee this season. He has been solid with a driver in his hand, with 67.72% accuracy for 13th — which has helped Conners to reach 69.03% of greens in regulation, for 18th.

So, Conners’ price at +6500 is worthy of a play for your best US Open golf sleepers.

Harris English (+10000)

To round out my best US Open dark horses, 35-year-old Harris English makes it on the shortlist. With just a 1% implied probability to win, English’s odds don’t give him much of a chance.

With five wins on the PGA Tour, including this year in the Farmers Insurance Open, English isn’t a stranger to the winner’s circle. He is having a strong 2025 campaign and can’t be ignored as a longshot at Oakmont Country Club.

English has finished at least T12 in five of his previous 12 entries. The Georgia Bulldogs’ most impressive performance came in the latest major in the PGA Championship. He was unable to oust Scheffler, but shot a respectable 6-under for T2 alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Davis Riley.

Overall, English is 36th in SG: Total and a solid 20th in SG: Putting. On a course and tournament that often comes down to putting, English has that running in his favor.

English has better than a 1% chance to win, so I suggest looking at him as one of the best US Open golf longshots!
