The Sportsbook

The first thing we noticed when looking at the sportsbook on BetOnline was the layout. It was a very clean and simple layout that looked to be well organized. Unlike a lot of other online sportsbooks, there wasn’t a ton of glitz and flashy imagery. While at first, we thought this might be a negative, it actually made for a really clean and easy to navigate interface. The creators of the sportsbook look like they put their efforts into functionality and simplicity which is a big plus, especially for serious sports bettors.

Odds were displayed in moneyline format and could easily be switched to decimal format with one click of the mouse. It’s always nice to see sites where you can change all of the odds at once to your preferred format instead of having to do it for each individual bet.

The site also had a section called the Sports Betting Edge. This was a section of the site dedicated to news and research and helping you to get an informed leg up on your best. Unfortunately, the most recent post or article we could find on here was from 2015. It looks like the informational section idea was one they were rolling with for a while but gave up on and forgot to remove from the site

Sports You Can Bet On

Game variety looked really good with the BetOnline sportsbook. Everything is neatly organized into a category list on the left-hand side of the page, and each category expands out into a longer list of the events that are currently available for bets. It looks like the list is fluid meaning that every league and organization they offer bets on is not shown unless they have events going on currently. Below is the list of events offered at the time we last updated this review.

If there’s a sport or league you like to bet on that you don’t see, we highly recommend that you take a few minutes and check out the actual site as they probably offer it. Just make sure that you look when your desired sport or league is in season, or it might not be shown on the list. We also didn’t see any of the more fun type bets that are sometimes offered like politics or reality TV or anything like that. Not a big drawback, just something to point out.

Types of Bets Offered

BetOnline had a lot of variety when it came to the bet types they offered. We’ve compiled a complete list of the different bet types they have as well as any important notes or basic odds with each that we felt were important to share with you.

  • Straight Bets
  • Totals
  • Money Line Bets
  • Parlays

The maximum payouts on parlays at BetOnline are $150,000.

In the event of a tie, cancellation, or a different pitcher starting than scheduled, your parlay is just reduced by one game.

BetOnline does not allow you to play both sides of a game on different parlays. For example, if you play Team A to win in one parlay, they ask that you don’t play Team B to win in a separate parlay. Winning wagers on these games will be canceled.

Number of Teams Payout
2 teams 2.64 to 1
3 teams 6 to 1
4 teams 12.28 to 1
5 teams 24.35 to 1
6 teams 47.41 to 1
7 teams 91.42 to 1
8 teams 175 to 1
9 teams 335 to 1
10 teams 642 to 1
11 teams 1226 to 1
12 teams 2342 to 1
13 teams 4473 to 1
14 teams 8541 to 1
15 teams 16306 to 1

Ties are treated as pushes and just reduce the bet down to the next level. For example, a seven-team teaser will be reduced to a six-team teaser if one of the games is a tie.

BetOnline also charges a small premium on NFL two, three, or four team teaser. The specific rule when this premium is applied is when the bet meets any of the following criteria. These criteria, copied exactly from the BetOnline website are as follows:

1) Crosses over both three and seven points
2) Lands on three or seven points, while crossing over the other
3) Comes off of three or seven points, while crossing over the other

An extra five cents is charged for each team that falls under one of the three aforementioned categories in a two-team teaser.

Special Teasers

BetOnline offers special teasers for 10, 13, or 21 points on NFL games and 8 or 9 points on basketball games. NFL super teasers are not available during the pre-season. 21 point super teasers have a few special rules. Ties will result in a loss, no totals bets are allowed, you can’t tease both sides of the same game, and no open spots are allowed. The maximum risk allowed in the 21 point teasers is $5,000.

Live Betting

BetOnline has a live betting portal that is accessible directly through the website without the need to download anything extra. The live betting section seemed to be a lot smaller than other sites, but still had plenty of options to choose from. This live betting portal looks great for recreational sports bettors but might be lacking in the complexities that professional bettors might be looking for. If you like making common and popular style in game bets, the platform is plenty for you. We would have like to see a bit more organizational structure to the list of bets as they are all in a single list that you need to scroll through. Because there were limited choices in bets, it wasn’t really a big deal.

Upon digging further into the live portal, we found there was a list of options horizontally across the top of the portal that allowed you to access areas that organized the bets much better. They also had a full calendar, upcoming bets organized by sport, and a section where you could select games to monitor. Though the variety of in-game bets was still lower, the organizational structure was much better than we originally thought. It would be nice if they drew more attention to these options along the horizontal top of the section.

The Casino

The casino section of BetOnline had much more curb appeal when we first clicked over to it. The site did not have the simplistic look of the sportsbook but was much more dressed up to give a more glamorous user experience. Game selection in the casino was great, significantly better than a lot of other all in one online gambling sites. The casino had sections for table games, slots, 3D slots, skill games, video poker and a live casino experience.

Table games were nicely organized based on game type and had more variations than a lot of the sites we’ve reviewed. There were only 19 regular slots to choose from which was a lot fewer choices but still plenty if you’re someone who just likes to dabble with slot machines. What they lacked in regular slot options, they quickly made up with their 3D slots. We lost count of options which is always a great thing especially if you’re a slot fan. Unfortunately, you can’t play any of the slots without creating an account.

Seeing a skill game section was awesome as this is not something offered by a lot of sites. They had dominoes, Yahtzee, Gin Rummy, Spades, and Tonk. These are games where you don’t play against the house, but you compete against other players around the world. This is awesome if you’re looking to make some money off your skills or are looking for a competitive environment to improve your skills against a variety of opponents. Video poker options were great with just under 20 options to choose from and what looked to be some high-quality graphics.

If you’re looking for the live casino options, it’s not located under the casino tab but has its own dedicated tab across the top of the site. Options included roulette, baccarat, blackjack, and super 6. The cool part is that you can see who the dealers are before you even sit down. Why is this cool? Not really sure now that we think about it, but it seems cool :) Sometimes we are easily amused, and it’s fun to see that they actually have real life dealers with names and faces online.

Who Can Play

BetOnline is pretty inclusive when it comes to where they service. Not only do they service most countries in the world, but they also service all 50 states in the United States. Like most sites, there are a few countries that are omitted from playing on the site. The list of countries that CAN’T play are the following:

We would have liked to see chat support, but phone support is fantastic to see. The dedicated emails are also nice as it should increase the response time from the correct, appropriate party.
