The following odds to win the College World Series are courtesy of BetOnline:

TEAMODDS
LSU Tigers+140
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers+210
Arkansas Razorbacks+600
UCLA Bruins+800
Oregon State Beavers+1200
Louisville Cardinals+3500
Murray State Racers+30000

The LSU Tigers (+140) are the leading favorites to win the College World Series. After knocking off the Arkansas Razorbacks (+600) in their first meeting, LSU’s odds to win took a decent jump.

Before the victory, LSU had the second-best price to capture the NCAA title at +230. In short, currently, the Tigers’ implied probability to finish on top is the highest at 41.7%. This represents an improvement from 30.3% last week.

Arkansas, on the other hand, has witnessed a massive drop following their loss. Arkansas shifted from a +195 favorite to tumbling all the way down to +600, or a 33.9% to 14.3% difference. The UCLA Bruins (+800) remain in contention but have just 11.1% implied odds to get it done.

Coastal Carolina’s (+210) College World Series odds have witnessed the largest movement since last week. During the NCAA Regional, the Chanticleers were priced at +1400. They improved to +650 and are now at +210, with the second-shortest odds!

CWS Format and Key Info

The NCAA baseball tournament consists of 64 college teams competing in a double-elimination format. There are four rounds in the tournament, including the regionals, super regionals, College World Series, and College World Series Finals.

The regional round is a double-elimination format. Two losses at any point during the regionals result in being axed from the tournament. This leads into the best-of-three series in the super regionals.

Eight teams will head to the College World Series in Omaha, NE, and again play in a best-of-three format. The remaining two schools still standing meet in the College World Series Finals to determine a national champion.

College World Series Dates:

    • June 13, 2025 – June 22/23, 2025
    • Finals: June 21 – June 22/23

Men’s College World Series 2025 Favorites

Three college squads stand out as the most likely winners of the NCAA baseball title this season. Let’s delve into all the details with the top favorites before I share my 2025 CWS predictions and betting picks!

LSU Tigers (+140)

For the first time during the NCAA Tournament, the LSU Tigers (49-15) are the favorites to win the College World Series! Despite playing fantastic baseball this season, LSU was never favored throughout the tournament.

That’s all changed now, as LSU is the clear favorite and in the driver’s seat after a dazzling pitching performance against Arkansas. However, there is still plenty of work to do for the Tigers before they win their eighth title.

Let’s dive straight into the details and how LSU’s chances are shaping up for the rest of the College World Series:

Recent Performances & Team Form

    • 4-1 WIN Arkansas (June 14)
    • 12-5 WIN West Virginia (June 8)
    • 16-9 WIN West Virginia (June 7)
    • 10-6 WIN Little Rock (June 2)
    • 10-4 LOSS Little Rock (June 1)

Since taking the lead against Little Rock and pulling away to win 10-6 on June 2, the LSU Tigers have played like the best team in the nation. That was a close call against upset-minded Little Rock, and the nearest they’ve gotten to going home. That was a 6-6 ball game before LSU edged ahead for good.

The Tigers are coming off their most impressive effort of the tournament in a 4-1 win over the Razorbacks. The victory sent the College World Series odds for a jolt, as LSU’s price moved to the top of the board. They rode the hot hand of their red-hot pitching staff and received timely hitting to book a matchup versus UCLA.

Pitching Staff & Starting Rotation

The Tigers’ pitching staff is among the best units in college baseball. They hold a 3.77 ERA through 64 games in 2025. Through the super regionals and their first matchup of the College World Series, LSU is ninth in the NCAA in pitching.

They weren’t perfect and dropped from fourth to ninth in the nation, but the pitching staff came up big when the Tigers needed it. Anthony Eyanson and Kade Anderson have paced LSU with the top numbers in the rotation.

Eyanson and Anderson afford LSU two legitimate starters to put on the mound in the NCAA baseball tournament. Cooper Williams and Chase Shores came up huge for the Tigers out of the bullpen in the Omaha-clinching victory over West Virginia. Williams went 2.2 innings, and Shores closed out the game with 1.1 innings of work.

Against Arkansas, Anderson, Shores, and closer Casan Evans combined to shut the door on the Razorbacks. Anderson lasted seven innings with three hits and one earned run allowed to pace the Tigers to victory.

While depth could be a concern if there are injuries, if this core holds up, then LSU will continue to have the most dominant pitching staff in the College World Series.

Impact Hitters

LSU has six batters hitting .304 or better in their starting lineup! Led by third-year first baseman Jared Jones, the Tigers are capable of winning games in the tournament with their bats, too.

Jones leads LSU with 20 home runs and 70 RBIs in the batter’s box this season. He has come through in the clutch for the Tigers in the playoffs, and I expect Jones to continue to play a crucial role in the remaining rounds of the College World Series.

Despite Jones coming up short in the opener against Arkansas, the rest of the Tigers stepped up around him. There are more than enough bats on this roster that Jones doesn’t need to be a superstar in every game.

Combined with Ethan Frey and Derek Curiel, the Tigers can get it done at the plate. Curiel is first on LSU with a .347 batting average, and Frey has shown power with 13 home runs. With a clutch single in the 8th inning, Curiel added insurance to put the Razorbacks further out of reach.

With a team OBP of .412, LSU is a tough team to get outs against, period. However, 18th in home runs in the NCAA, which is still a great mark, puts them behind Arkansas’ insane power for fourth in the nation. It didn’t seem to matter in their first meeting, though, as LSU’s pitching was too much to handle.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (+210)

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (55-11) are officially the Cinderella story of the NCAA baseball tournament. Facing large odds against some of the powerhouses of college baseball, Coastal Carolina hasn’t been intimidated or bowed down to any foes.

This is a 50+ win baseball team, so it’s hard to even consider them as a Cinderella. Nevertheless, they went flying under the radar, and without a tough SEC schedule to back up their record, not many bettors gave the Chanticleers much thought.

Are you willing to make Coastal Carolina one of your best College World Series picks now? As one of the favorites to reach the championship series, they appear to be the best team to give LSU a run for their money. Let’s break down the numbers below:

Recent Performances & Team Form

    • 6-2 WIN Oregon State (June 15)
    • 7-4 WIN Arizona (June 13)
    • 4-1 WIN Auburn (June 7)
    • 7-6 WIN Auburn (June 6)
    • 1-0 WIN East Carolina (June 1)

The red-hot Chanticleers haven’t lost since a 4-2 loss to College of Charleston on April 22! That’s a 25-game winning streak after dispatching the Oregon State Beavers by a score of 6-2 on Sunday. Few people had faith in Coastal Carolina making it past Auburn, but they swept in impressive fashion.

The team kept the gas pedal down as they pulled out wins versus Arizona and the Beavers. The Chanticleers are finally getting respect now from online betting sites and the public. It’s hard to ignore the run that they’re on, and the 2025 College World Series odds have reacted favorably.

Pitching Staff & Starting Rotation

Coastal Carolina’s pitching ranks second in college baseball with a lights-out ERA of 3.22! Only Northeastern recorded a lower ERA than the Chanticleers have this season. Spearheaded by ace Jacob Morrison, Coastal Carolina has been a juggernaut on the mound.

Morrison holds a 2.08 ERA and .194 OBA through 18 appearances. In addition, Riley Eikhoff and Cameron Flukey have been outstanding on the bump for Coastal Carolina. Eikhoff boasts an ERA of 2.98 and a .258 OBA, while Flukey has been sharp as well, posting an ERA of 3.34 and a .212 OBA.

Few pitching staffs remaining can top the Chanticleer’s depth. The big question is whether their pitching will be able to hold up against the elite bats of college baseball, which we will find out very soon. In any event, this is a very stout unit that can carry the load for the Chanticleers in Omaha.

Impact Hitters

The Chanticleers’ lineup is bolstered by the bat of senior left fielder Sebastian Alexander. He leads Coastal Carolina with 54 RBIs and is also second in home runs and batting average. Alexander is the most complete batter in the Chanticleer’s offense that pitchers have to be careful with.

That being said, Coastal Carolina doesn’t have the best bats amongst the teams remaining in the College World Series. They only have two batters in the double digits for home runs and three hitting above .300.

Overall, Coastal Carolina is 107th in the NCAA in home runs with 66 long balls. Additionally, they are just 83rd, with a team batting average of .292. While their rotation is on fire, the offense leaves a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, they’ve been clutch when needed throughout the NCAA Tournament.

It will be interesting to see how they handle LSU’s pitching in the championship, if they do indeed meet.

Arkansas Razorbacks (+600)

Only 12 teams in College World Series history have proceeded to win the title after losing their first game. The Arkansas Razorbacks (48-14) hope to join those ranks and ink their names in history as the 13th team.

This is still a very good team that shouldn’t be discounted among college baseball fans. It wouldn’t be the biggest shocker to see Arkansas claw its way back into the fight. However, if it’s going to happen, they’ll have to beat LSU twice, which stands to reason as a tough assignment.

Now, let’s check out what Arkansas is working with in the College World Series:

Recent Performances & Team Form

    • 4-1 LOSS LSU (June 14)
    • 11-4 WIN Tennessee (June 8)
    • 4-3 WIN Tennessee (June 7)
    • 8-3 WIN Creighton (June 1)
    • 12-1 WIN Creighton (May 31)

In a gut-wrenching loss to the LSU Tigers, Arkansas’ bats were unable to save the team in a 4-1 loss. There were no issues with the strong pitching effort, but the offense fell silent at the hands of LSU’s vaunted hurlers.

Before losing to LSU, the Razorbacks were in strong form with a sweep of the Tennessee Volunteers. Tennessee was among the top favorites to win the College World Series before going down.

Additionally, Arkansas was on a five-game win streak, with their last loss to Ole Miss in a 5-2 upset in the SEC Tournament. Winning the College World Series will require beating Murray State, which seems likely. However, defeating LSU’s pitching twice feels like a daunting task right now.

Pitching Staff & Starting Rotation

On the shoulders of Zach Root, Arkansas’ pitching was in tip-top shape in Omaha. They’ve been a dependable pitching staff throughout the season. Currently, the Razorbacks rank 10th in the NCAA, with a posted team ERA of 3.92 through 62 matchups.

However, when Root isn’t pitching well, there is a massive load on the rest of the pitchers that I don’t believe they can handle. Root lasted only 1.2 innings in the 4-1 loss to the Tigers. He allowed two hits, two walks, and three earned runs. Arkansas was able to settle in on the arm of Gabe Gaeckle but he’s inconsistent.

Root has recorded an ERA of 3.82 and a .222 OBA, while Gaeckle hasn’t been as reliable with a 4.48 ERA. Without a strong second option behind Root in the rotation, it’s going to be a monumental chore to beat LSU twice now. They needed that first win over LSU and were unable to deliver.

Impact Hitters

If Root catches fire and manages to put Arkansas back in a good position, the offense may very well be able to take care of the rest. The offense has power up and down the order, so I’m not concerned with their ability to put up runs on most days.

With several ball mashers in the lineup, Arkansas ranks 20th in batting average and fourth in home runs. As a team, Arkansas is hitting a solid .310 after quality work in the super regionals against Tennessee.

Additionally, Arkansas can win games with the deep ball, as they’ve connected for 125 home runs heading into their second College World Series matchup versus Murray State. Whether the Razorbacks want to use their power or play small ball to win games, they’re fully capable of adapting to their opponent and finding success.

Wehiwa Aloy is an MVP-caliber hitter for Arkansas. He’s destroying opposing pitchers and is one of the most complete batters in college. Aloy is mauling the ball with a .348 batting average, .434 OBP, 64 RBIs, and 20 home runs en route to the SEC Player of the Year award.

Aloy’s 20 long balls lead Arkansas, but to show the depth of this roster, there are two batters ahead of him in batting average!

Logan Maxwell is hitting .351 to lead the Razorbacks’ impressive offense in the batter’s box. Along with Charles Davalan, Camden Kozeal, and Ryan Helfrick, Arkansas has six hitters on their roster with at least a .313 batting average and 13 home runs!

The team’s offensive depth makes the Razorbacks’ bats a serious threat, but they were foiled by LSU’s Major League-level pitchers. They’ll need to be much better against the Tigers in two games for their College World Series dreams to be a reality.

College World Series 2025 Longshot Bets

Omaha only has a spot for eight teams in the College World Series! The way I see it, the winner is likely Arkansas or LSU, and the odds agree with that sentiment. That being said, there is one longshot wager worth considering to bet on.

  1. 1. UCLA Bruins (+800)

The UCLA Bruins (48-16) are highly overlooked as one of the best teams to win the College World Series! At +800 odds, the 48-win Bruins remain a bargain to win the national title. I placed my initial bet on UCLA at +1500 odds and still find value at +800 after defeating Murray State.

Coming off a sweep of the UTSA Roadrunners in a 7-0 and 5-2 win, the Bruins followed up with a 6-4 victory over a pesky Murray State squad. They didn’t play as tough a schedule in the Big Ten as SEC teams did, so UCLA’s odds to win the College World Series aren’t as low. Nevertheless, this is a quality UCLA team that could shock a few pundits.

Led by slugger Roch Cholowsky, the Bruins are going to have a chance. Cholowsky is one of the best hitters remaining in the NCAA Tournament. He has notched a .362 batting average and 23 home runs to lead the Bruins this season.

Additionally, the Bruins have five batters who are hitting a minimum of .313. If the pitching comes up clutch and heats up at the perfect time, UCLA is in a perfect spot to upset the favorites and win the College World Series! They have a tough matchup ahead against LSU, but if you like the Tigers, UCLA at +800 is a fantastic insurance bet.

College World Series 2025 Predictions and Betting Pick

Although Arkansas remains a contender to win, I believe they had to win the College World Series opener against LSU. Root needed to back up the talk with a flawless effort, and he couldn’t even get out of the second inning.

Arkansas’ rotation doesn’t have the depth behind Root to scare LSU if they meet again. The Razorbacks need two wins, and I don’t see where they’re going to find it against the Tigers. Likewise, it’s difficult to fathom how they’ll solve Anderson and Eyanson in back-to-back spots.

I like Coastal Carolina’s story, and I’d be happy to see them win, but they’re far more handcuffed than Arkansas in the batter’s box. If the Razorbacks can’t touch the Tigers’ pitching staff, there isn’t much hope that the Chanticleers will find success, either.

Coastal Carolina’s pitching is impressive, but LSU wouldn’t need to scratch too many runs across the plate for a win. In short, the LSU Tigers are the best option for your 2025 College World Series betting picks at plus odds!
