SGA and Wemby are leading the way here, with the bookies expecting one of them to become the MVP. Given the odds, I don’t recommend betting on either favorite. You can get almost the same price for their respective teams winning the series, so it doesn’t make sense to bet on SGA becoming an MVP at -250 if you can get the Thunder to win at -245.

San Antonio Spurs – Are the Spurs Ready to Go All the Way?

Many believed that the San Antonio roster is too young and inexperienced to fight for the NBA title before the season started. However, the Spurs won 62 games in the regular season and continue to look like a true contender in the playoffs.
Victor Wembanyama has taken another leap in his development, delivering an MVP-caliber performance. The French big man easily won the DPOY award and was great on offense, despite missing 18 games because of injuries.
The scary part is that the Spurs are much more than Wemby. Stephon Castle, De’Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, and Julian Champagnie form a formidable starting unit, while 6th Man of the Year Keldon Johnson, veteran Harison Barnes, and rookie Dylan Harper have been amazing from the bench.
The team features more guys ready to help in niche situations, such as Luke Kornet, Carter Bryant, Mason Plumlee, and Kelly Olynyk. San Antonio is one of the few teams that can match OKC’s depth.
Furthermore, the Spurs will have plenty of confidence after beating the OKC four times in the regular season and only losing once. San Antonio’s back court energy and Wemby’s unstoppable offense clearly showed us that the Spurs can stop the OKC.
The biggest question here is whether they are ready to do it mentally. I had my doubts before the postseason, and the OKC would’ve had the upper hand if they faced the Spurs in the first two rounds.
However, San Antonio went through an easy opening series against Portland and a very valuable second-round matchup against Minnesota. The Timberwolves win was exactly what the Spurs needed to grow.
They faced a team that challenged them physically and provoked Wembanyama, who was even ejected in one of the games.
The experience gained by the Spurs will be critical for their chances against OKC. The Thunder will play vicious defense and try to suffocate the challengers. The young San Antonio team would’ve probably fallen too far behind before adjusting if it wasn’t for that Timberwolves series.
Now, the Spurs should be ready from the opening game. That doesn’t guarantee anything, of course, and the Thunder remain the favorites. However, San Antonio should be worthy challenges and can certainly win this series.
OKC Thunder – Can They Solve the Spurs?

The OKC Thunder were once again amazing this regular season, winning 64 games and topping the West. They started so well that people were wondering if the champions can break the regular season win record, but that was never their goal.
A lot of key players, most notably Jalen Williams, were injured for large parts of the season, so managing health was more important than chasing records. The NBA title remains the big goal for the season, and the Thunder have all their players available. As a result, they are 8-0 in the playoffs.
SGA is the main man, of course, after just winning another MPV this season.
The guard has averaged 29.1 points on just under 35 mins per game in the playoffs. Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and the emerging Ajay Mitchell have added between 18.6 and 20.5 ppg each, so the offense is remarkably versatile.
The scary part is that the defense might be even better. This team has the personnel to relentlessly pressure the opposition every single minute but also rotate and try different solutions if something’s not working right.
Furthermore, the Thunder have a ton of experience after winning the title last year, one of the best coaches in the NBA, and the home advantage.
Still, the regular season record against the Spurs suggests that Oklahoma City must be at their best to win this series.
NBA West Finals 2026 Predictions and Best Bets
We have all the ingredients of an all-time classic series in this one, so I pray every day that everyone on both sides is healthy from start to finish. The OKC have the experience of winning the title and home court advantage working in their favor, but the Spurs have Wemby and the confidence of dominating the champions in the regular season.
That’s why I don’t think the Western Conference Finals winner odds are where they should be. The Spurs should be somewhere between +130 and +180, not as high as +205. The value is on them, but the best bet is actually the spread.
Getting Spurs +1.5 games at -125 is great value, as this would land even if they lose in 7. That’s where my money is going for this series, with over 5.5 games at -165 another great option.
I would strongly advise you against betting on the Western Conference Finals MVP odds, though. The prices on Wemby and SGA are not worth it, while the other guys are highly unlikely to win the award. Still, my prediction would be Victory Wembanyama, but the odds are just short to back him.
