Marc Maron Podcast Final Guest Betting Odds

The following odds are courtesy of BetUS:

GUESTODDS
Barack Obama+200
Brendan McDonald+200
Lorne Michaels+300
Jeff Ross+500
Sarah Silverman+700
Conan O’Brien+700
Jon Stewart+800
Tina Fey+900
David Letterman+900
Jerry Seinfeld+1000

Barack Obama (+200) and Brendan McDonald (+200) are co-favorites to be the final guests on the WTF with Marc Maron Podcast! As +200 favorites, Obama and McDonald share a 33.3% implied probability. The former President of the United States has been on Maron’s podcast before and is one of the likeliest candidates to close out the show.

However, it might be fitting to have McDonald, Maron’s producer, as the final guest. Alternatively, Lorne Michaels (+300) and Jeff Ross (+500) have a decent chance of having the final honor. Note that Ross was the first-ever guest on the program, so that’s a logical option!

Why Is WTF with Marc Maron Ending?

Simply put, Maron and his team are burnt out from operating the podcast. They’ve been at it since 2009, and Maron and McDonald are ready to move on.

“We have put up a new show every Monday and Thursday for almost 16 years, and we’re tired. We’re burnt out. And we are utterly satisfied with the work we’ve done,” Maron told his listeners.

He started the podcast at the advent of the genre. Very few people listened to podcasts regularly. Maron’s WTF with Marc Maron introduced millions of people to what we know as a podcast today.

The stand-up comedian welcomed guests from all walks of life to his garage for an interview and to share a laugh. Maron and McDonald are scheduled to do it for one final time this coming fall.

WTF with Marc Maron Final Guest Betting Favorites

It’s anyone’s guess who Maron is going to have on his last podcast ever. However, the odds at entertainment betting sites suggest three potential guests have the most likely chance:

Barack Obama (+200)

Obama isn’t a stranger to the “WTF” podcast. He was on Episode 613 of the program on June 22, 2015. The 44th President of the United States and Maron had a good show and a positive relationship.

Maron claimed that Obama went on the show to get listeners interested in politics. However, what are the odds of the former president appearing again as the final guest? In the current political arena, it’s certainly plausible that he would make for an intriguing listen.

According to the betting odds, there’s a 33.3% chance of it happening!

The way I see it, Obama at +200 isn’t the best value on the board. While he may opt to use this as an opportunity to give Democrats a boost in a time when they probably need it, I don’t know if he’s too motivated.

I would rather side with a value bet on Ross at +500 or Jerry Seinfeld’s odds at +1000 than Obama’s short price.

Brendan McDonald (+200)

For sentimental reasons, Maron’s producer would make the most sense as the final guest. The duo has been together from the start and has shared plenty of memories in the comedian’s garage.

Wouldn’t it be fitting if McDonald is the final guest on the podcast? Maron and McDonald could review and discuss the most memorable moments and guests who have participated in the podcast. That would be a way to end the 16-year reign of the WTF with Marc Maron show.

While there are several fantastic options available to be his last guest, McDonald makes a whole lot of sense. Longtime listeners of the podcast would certainly appreciate Maron and McDonald going in and out together.

I would put McDonald ahead of Obama as the more likely final guest on the podcast!

Lorne Michaels (+300)

Movie producer Lorne Michaels is a worthy option to be Maron’s final guest on the podcast. Michaels is the creator of Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show. Additionally, Late Night, currently hosted by Seth Meyers, is Michael’s responsibility.

The 80-year-old has a long and successful history and has too many stories that he could divulge in one podcast episode. Lorne has been regularly brought up throughout the history of the show. Maron often brings him up in a variety of contexts, including his failed attempt to join SNL after meeting Lorne.

Finally, Lorne joined the podcast for Episode 653 on November 9, 2015. Could he be ready to return to Maron’s garage to talk more about his illustrious career and celebrate the end of “WTF”?

There’s a decent chance, as Maron has a solid history with Lorne, but I wouldn’t bet on Lorne at only +300.

WTF with Marc Maron Final Guest Predictions and Betting Pick

If Maron is going for an emotional goodbye, then it only makes sense to call on McDonald for the final episode. As I noted, it would be fitting for Maron and the producer to be the two to close out the show by themselves in the garage.

I could make an argument for most of the top favorites, but none larger than McDonald. Alternatively, I wouldn’t mind seeing Conan O’Brien, Jon Stewart, or Seinfeld on the final episode. Comedians on the show always tend to develop a strong rapport with Maron, so it’d make for an entertaining finale.

Ross, as the first and final guest, is a compelling choice, too. Nevertheless, McDonald just makes the safest bet to be the last person to occupy Maron’s guest seat in the garage.

In short, at +200, consider betting on McDonald for Maron’s final guest on WTF with Marc Maron!
