Continue reading for a closer look at the top contenders for the 2026 Most Outstanding Player award.
Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan) (+190)
The Wolverines have dominated opponents so far in March Madness. Michigan won its first four games by an average of 22.5 points, with the closest win coming in a 90-77 victory over Alabama.
Yaxel Lendeborg has played a major role in three of the Wolverines’ four wins. After a slow start against #16 Howard, Lendeborg has packed the stat sheet en route to leading Michigan to the Final Four.
-
- First Round vs. #16 Howard: 9 PTS, 4 REB, 4 AST
- Second Round vs. #9 St. Louis: 25 PTS, 6 REB, 2 AST
- Sweet 16 vs. #4 Alabama: 23 PTS, 12 REB, 7 AST
- Elite Eight vs. #6 Tennessee: 27 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST

He also has three blocks and three steals so far in the tournament.
Lendeborg did not do much in the First Round, but he has averaged 25 PPG in the three games since. He has also played at least 32 minutes in each of the Wolverines’ last three matchups.
Michigan needs Lendeborg to keep racking up points and dominating the boards. The Wolverines face Arizona in the Final Four, the only other remaining #1 seed. A 6’9 senior, Lendeborg has the size and experience to handle the pressure of playing in the penultimate round.
Brayden Burries (Arizona) (+355)
Arizona has been similarly dominant in its first four NCAA Tournament matchups. The Wildcats have won by an average of 20.5 points, including a 34-point win in the First Round.
Brayden Burries, the Wildcats’ leading scorer in the regular season, has the second-shortest MOB odds at +355. Burries was a key part of Arizona’s Big 12 Championship, and he has continued to play at a high level in March Madness.
-
- First Round vs. #16 Long Island: 18 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST
- Second Round vs. #9 Utah State: 16 PTS, 9 REB, 2 AST
- Sweet 16 vs. #4 Arkansas: 23 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST
- Elite Eight vs. #2 Purdue: 14 PTS, 6 REB, 2 AST
Burries has also racked up two blocks and three steals so far in the tournament.
He has played 30+ minutes in back-to-back games and could secure himself as the MOP frontrunner with an impressive performance against Michigan in the Final Four. Eliminating the Wolverines would knock out Burries’ biggest competition, Lendeborg, from consideration for MOP.
Jaden Bradley (Arizona) (+525)
The other Arizona Wildcat listed in the top three MOP odds is Jaden Bradley. A Senior, Bradley was the Wildcats’ third leading scorer, averaging 13.3 PPG, and led the team in assists at 4.4 per game.
Bradley was named the Big 12 Player of the Year after helping Arizona win the conference title. He has been a key player for Arizona in the NCAA Tournament so far this year as well.
-
- First Round vs. #16 Long Island: 7 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST
- Second Round vs. #9 Utah State: 18 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST
- Sweet 16 vs. #4 Arkansas: 14 PTS, 4 REB, 5 AST
- Elite Eight vs. #2 Purdue: 14 PTS, 1 REB, 6 AST
Arizona will need more out of Bradley if the Wildcats want to beat Michigan. With the Wolverines focused on slowing down Burries, Bradley has a great opportunity to remind everyone why he was the Big 12 Player of the Year. A strong showing against the title favorites could allow him to jump from third to first in the MOP betting lines.
Best 2026 MOP Sleepers
Looking for a bigger potential payout on the MOP winner? Consider these 2026 Most Outstanding Player sleeper picks.
Keaton Wagler (Illinois) (+650)
Keaton Wagler and the #3 Illinois Fighting Illini are one game away from playing for the National Championship. Illinois is the lowest remaining seed after beating #2 Houston and #9 Iowa in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, respectively. They will play #2 UConn in the Final Four this weekend.
Wagler is available at +650 odds to win MOP. He led Illinois in points (17.9 PPG), assists (4.3 APG), and steals (0.9 SPG) in the regular season. The Freshman is averaging 17.5 PPG so far in the tournament.
Illinois will face either Michigan or Arizona in the finals if it gets past UConn. Wagler will need to do more on offense for the Fighting Illini to win the title and set himself apart from teammates Andrej Stojakovic (15.0 PPG) and David Mirkovic (14.75 PPG) in MOP voting.
Tarris Reed Jr. (UConn) (+950)
Speaking of UConn, the Husky with the best odds to win Most Outstanding Player is Tarris Reed Jr. The Senior center led UConn in scoring (14.7 PPG), rebounds (8.8 RPG), and blocks (2.1 BPG) this season.

Reed is averaging over 21 PPG so far in the tournament and has scored 20+ points in three of his four appearances. He has also racked up 13.5 rebounds per game. If Reed continues to average a double-double, he could push the Huskies to a title and win MOP in the process.
Aday Mara (Michigan) (+2400)
Michigan is the title favorite, but Aday Mara has the second-best MOP odds of any Wolverine at 24-1. Mara was third on the team in points (11.8 PPG) and rebounds (6.8 RPG) this season and led Michigan with 2.6 BPG.
The 7’3 Junior has averaged 13.5 PPG during Michigan’s dominant tournament run. Mara also has 21 rebounds and 15 assists so far. In addition to rebounding, Mara’s size makes him a force as a defender, and he has 11 total blocks in four tournament games.
Should Lendeborg struggle, Mara could be Michigan’s secret weapon to continue their title run. He also offers exciting values at +2400 odds.
2025 MOP Predictions
As the name suggests, the Most Outstanding Player is the person with the biggest impact on the tournament. Typically, this is done by leading your team to the National Championship, so you should align your MOP bets with your March Madness winner predictions.
Top March Madness betting sites have Michigan’s Yaxel Lendeborg as the +190 favorite to win MOP. However, I think that Arizona’s Jaden Bradley (+525) is the better bet.
Bradley and Brayden Burries (+355) have a chance to eliminate Lendeborg in the Final Four. Despite Burries having the more impressive season, Bradley was named the Big 12 Player of the Year. He has come up clutch for his team before, so I expect more of the same.
I’d also add a smal wager on an underdog. My top sleeper is UConn’s Tarris Reed Jr. at +950 odds. The Huskies have battled through arguably the toughest path to the Final Four of any remaining team. If Reed and UConn can pull off two more upsets, the Senior is a shoo-in to win MOP.
