The Heisman odds for 2025 featured a familiar last name at the top of the board as Arch Manning was favored. After some poor performances, he has dropped off the list, but who is the Heisman betting favorite now in a chaotic season?
I’ll take a look at the favorites, contenders, and longshots I like, and give you my best Heisman prediction at the end of this article!
2025 Heisman Trophy Winner Odds
Here are the current Heisman odds heading into Week 10, courtesy of BetUS.
| PLAYER | ODDS |
|---|---|
| Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) | +300 |
| Ty Simpson (Alabama) | +325 |
| Julian Sayin (Ohio State) | +375 |
| Marcel Reed (Texas A&M) | +550 |
| Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt) | +800 |
| Gunnar Stockton (Georgia) | +1200 |
| Jeremiyah Love (Notre Dame) | +2000 |
| Haynes King (Georgia Tech) | +2500 |
| Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss) | +3000 |
| Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) | +3300 |
| C.J. Carr (Notre Dame) | +4000 |
| Dante Moore (Oregon) | +4000 |
The top three have remained the same at the top of the board at college football betting sites, although in a slightly different order. Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza (+300) is back as the favorite with an implied probability of 25%. He was co-favored with Ty Simpson (+325) just under two weeks ago, but the Alabama quarterback is just behind Mendoza with a 23.5% implied chance to win. Ohio State QB Julian Sayin (+375) is next with a 21% chance.
The Heisman odds then drop to Texas A&M’s Marcell Reed (+550) and Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia (+800), with Georgia’s Gunnar Stockton (+1200) lurking. This SEC trio of quarterbacks has an implied probability range of 7.7% to 15.4% to win the award, but they’ll need the top three to slip up.
The longshots have some work to do, but Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss (+3000) and Oregon’s Dante Moore (+4000) could have something to say about the Heisman betting race before it’s over!

Favorites in the 2025 Heisman Odds
First, let’s examine the 2025 Heisman odds for the favorites after Week 8!
Fernando Mendoza (+300)
Mendoza is now the Heisman betting favorite despite coming off his lowest passing yards of the season. The junior QB threw for 168 yards on 15-of-22 passing, with three touchdowns and a pick in a 56-6 rout of UCLA.
The goods from Fernando Mendoza.
Off-platform throw into a super tight window. Uses his eyes to move the safety, then gets the ball out with a wrist flick. NFL stuff.

Mendoza also ran for 45 yards and a score, but he managed to get off the field healthy, and his younger brother, Alberto, got a chance to play. But the older Mendoza is second in the nation in passer rating (RTG), and has a remarkable 24:3 touchdown-to-interception rate.
The Hoosiers have road games at Maryland and Penn State before a home game with Wisconsin, and a trip to Purdue to close the season. Indiana should run the table and get to the Big Ten game, which would be incredible for Mendoza’s 2025 Heisman betting chances!
Ty Simpson (+325)
Simpson guided Alabama to a tough 29-22 win at South Carolina last week, completing 24 of 43 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns came to Germie Bernard with 2:16 left to tie the game, before Bernard won it with a 25-yard rushing touchdown with 34 seconds remaining.

The junior signal-caller has 20 touchdowns to just one interception, while ranking ninth in yards with 2,184. #4 Alabama still has home games left against LSU, Oklahoma, and Eastern Illinois, before heading to Auburn for the “Iron Bowl”.
With a tougher schedule than Mendoza, Simpson has a path to winning the Heisman if he continues to play as he has. Simpson can’t afford to slip up down the stretch, but at +325, I think he has some Heisman betting value to offer.
Julian Sayin (+375)
The top-ranked Buckeyes have been absolutely dominant, winning 34-0 at Wisconsin, and Sayin had a remarkable day. He was 36-of-42 for 393 yards and four touchdowns to lead the way for Ohio State.

The sophomore slinger leads all of college football with an 80% completion rate, and is just ahead of Mendoza in passer rating in first place. Ohio State hosts Penn State this weekend, then heads to Purdue, has home games against UCLA and Rutgers, and ends the season with a massive trip to Michigan.
That game in Ann Arbor could make or break Sayin’s season. But he’s been excellent since the season opener against a Texas team with a fantastic defense. I like his chances at +375 in the Heisman odds.
Contenders in the 2025 Heisman Odds
Next, let’s consider the contenders in the 2025 Heisman winner odds.
Marcel Reed (+550)
Reed has the Aggies third in the AP rankings after a 49-25 romp at LSU, which caused the Tigers to fire head coach Brian Kelly. Reed was 12-of-21 for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions through the air. He added 13 rushes for 108 yards and two more scores on the ground.

Reed doesn’t have the eye-popping numbers of the top three, but he makes winning plays with his arms and legs. The Aggies head to Missouri this weekend, before home games against South Carolina and Samford.
They end the season with a massive game at Texas, another one that could have considerable ramifications in the Heisman betting odds. If Reed has a big night against the Longhorns, he’ll probably earn an invitation to New York.
Diego Pavia (+800)
Pavia is still in the running despite a subpar performance in a 17-10 win at Missouri. The Vanderbilt QB was just 10-of-19 for 129 yards and an interception, and had eight rushes for 20 yards, although he found the end zone.
Diego Pavia passing yards against SEC opponents (TDs):
-South Carolina – 177 (2)
-Alabama – 198 (1)
-LSU – 160 (1)
-Mizzou – 129 (0)This is not a Heisman worthy stat line.
— SEC Numbers Guy (@secnumbersguy) October 26, 2025
The senior needs a productive stretch run to avoid falling down the 2025 Heisman odds. But #9 Vandy visits Texas this weekend, then has home games against Auburn and Kentucky, then a road game against Tennessee. That’s a tough stretch for any quarterback, and Pavia has to step up his game to get an invitation to New York.
Gunnar Stockton (+1200)
Stockton had a bye this week, so the Georgia quarterback had a week to recover after a crucial 43-35 win over Ole Miss. He had four touchdowns through the air, and another one on the ground for the #5 Bulldogs.

— Georgia Football (@GeorgiaFootball) October 29, 2025
Stockton has managed to improve as a passer, completing 70.5% of his 200 attempts. He also has added eight touchdowns on the ground, making Georgia even more dangerous in the red zone.
Georgia meets Florida this week, then they head to Mississippi State. But the Bulldogs end the season with three straight home games against Texas, Charlotte, and Georgia Tech.
I think Stockton is having a better season than Pavia, so +1200 is giving you more Heisman betting value. But I don’t know if Stockton can top the three favorites without a considerable push in November.
Best Longshot Heisman Odds for 2025
Finally, let’s look at two darkhorses that could net you a big payday if you wager on their Heisman betting odds!
Trinidad Chambliss (+3000)
Chambliss has emerged as a viable Heisman candidate, and is coming off a solid effort in Oklahoma. The Ole Miss QB was 24-of-44 for 315 yards and a touchdown in a 34-26 win.
Absolute dot from Trinidad Chambliss. Started the season as Ole Miss’ backup and now he’s playing his way into getting drafted pic.twitter.com/zTnwJK9Y2W
— Bobby Football (@Rob__Paul) October 25, 2025
The knock on Chambliss’ Heisman betting chances is that he didn’t take over the starting job until the third week of the season, when Austin Simmons got hurt. But Chambliss has taken the job with both hands, and has the #7 Rebels on the cusp of the top five.
Ole Miss has a decent slate down the stretch, hosting South Carolina, The Citadel, and Florida before visiting Mississippi State. Chambliss would need several more 300-yard games, but it’s a great story that he is involved in the race!
Dante Moore (+4000)
Moore was one of the early Heisman betting favorites, but fell down the board after a 30-20 loss to Indiana at home on October 11.

— Conference Commandos (@ConfCommandos) October 29, 2025
He has a bye this weekend, and Moore’s last performance wasn’t great, either. He was just 9-of-15 for 86 yards through the air in a 21-7 win over Wisconsin. But much of that was due to rainy conditions. He’s still having a good year, ranking eighth in completion rate (71.4%), seventh in passer rating, and he has a 19:4 TD-to-INT ratio.
Moore can still rack up yards in road games at Iowa and Washington, and home games against Minnesota and USC. The sophomore has to pick it up in a hurry, but if he does, grabbing him now would give you a nice Heisman betting return!
2025 Heisman Trophy Prediction and Betting Pick
My Heisman betting prediction nine days ago was Julian Sayin at +400, and I’m sticking with him at +375. I think there’s a better path to team success for Sayin, as I believe Ohio State is the best team in the country. If they win the Big Ten, and they should, I think Sayin is an easy choice, with all due respect to Simpson.
I’m going to squeeze a little more value out of my Heisman betting pick and go with Ohio State’s Julian Sayin at +375!
