2026 Women’s March Madness Sweet 16 Betting Odds and Predictions

The Fighting Irish won seven of their last eight entering the NCAA Tournament, then beat Fairfield and Ohio State. The Commodores are coming off two routs, beating High Point 102-61 and Illinois 75-57.

Two of the best players in the country go head-to-head as Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo and Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes meet. Blakes led the country in scoring with 27 points a game, while Hidalgo was third at 25.2 (and she has 16 steals in the first two games of the tournament!). But the supporting casts will be the story, and while Vanderbilt’s might be stronger on paper, Notre Dame is playing better right now.

I’m willing to take a swing and take Notre Dame’s moneyline at +235 in my women’s Sweet 16 predictions. It’s an experienced team that has yet to make it past the Sweet 16 in four straight season, but it’s their time on Friday.

This one is almost a coin flip, so getting +235 for Notre Dame is too tempting to ignore.

The Huskies continue to destroy teams, thrashing UTSA 90-52, and Syracuse 98-45. The Tar Heels thumped Western Illinois 82-41, and beat Maryland 74-66.

The Tar Heels are a talented team, and they have size with Nyla Harris, and good guard play with Lanie Grant and Elina Aarnisalo. But the Huskies are a juggernaut on the both ends of the floor, led by Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong. It would take the Tar Heels’ best effort just to keep the score respectable.

Anything but their best would lead to a full demolition. Spreads this large are normally a stay-away, but the Huskies have beaten teams by almost 38 points a game this season. Don’t shy away from UConn in your 2026 women’s Sweet 16 picks on Friday.

The Tigers haven’t expended much energy in blowing out Jacksonville 116-58, and Texas Tech by a score of 101-47. The Blue Devils defeated Charleston 81-64, and won 69-46 over Baylor.

LSU beat Duke 93-77 on the road on December 5, and the Blue Devils’ defense will have to play as they did against Baylor, who also beat Duke in the regular season. However, LSU’s offense is much better than Baylor.

Flau’jae Johnson, MiLaysia Fulwiley, and Mikaylah Williams are all capable of big nights. Duke doesn’t have the horses to keep up with LSU, who should cover the 9.0-point spread rather comfortably.
