2025 Heisman Odds and Predictions – Who Will Strike the Heisman Pose?

2025 Heisman Odds and Predictions – Who Will Strike the Heisman Pose?

The Heisman odds for 2025 featured a familiar last name at the top of the board as Arch Manning was favored. He has dropped down the list, but how far has Manning fallen, and who is the favorite now?

I’ll take a look at the favorites, contenders, and longshots I like, and give you my best Heisman prediction at the end of this article!

2025 Heisman Trophy Winner Odds

Here are the current Heisman odds heading into Week 5, courtesy of BetUS.

PLAYER ODDS
Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) +700
Dante Moore (Oregon) +1000
Carson Beck (Miami) +1200
Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) +1400
Gunnar Stockton (Georgia) +1400
Marcel Reed (Texas A&M) +1400
Josh Hoover (TCU) +1400
Joey Aguilar (Tennessee) +1400
Garrett Nussmeier (LSU) +1600
Julian Sayin (Ohio State) +1600
Jayden Maiava (USC) +1800
Ty Simpson (Alabama) +2000
Thomas Castellano (Florida State) +2000
Drew Allar (Penn State) +2500
Haynes King (Georgia Tech) +2500
Arch Manning (Texas) +3000

There are some significant changes in the Heisman betting odds at college football betting sites heading into Week 5 as many teams start the conference portion of their schedule. Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza (+700) wasn’t even on the board to start the season. Now, he’s the Heisman betting favorite with an implied probability of 12.5% to win the award! He’s just ahead of Oregon’s Dante Moore (+1000) and Miami’s Carson Beck (+1200).

There’s a large group of players behind the top three, led by Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith (+1400) and Georgia’s Gunnar Stockton (+1400). LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier (+1600) was the favorite just two weeks ago, but has fallen down the board. But USC’s Jayden Maiava (+1800) is moving up from +4500.

Preseason favorite, Texas’ Arch Manning (+3000), is now a longshot at +3000 and needs a strong SEC schedule to threaten the favorites!

Favorites in the 2025 Heisman Odds

First, let’s examine the 2025 Heisman odds for the favorites after Week 4!

Fernando Mendoza (+700)

Mendoza has been lights out for the 4-0 Indiana Hoosiers, completing 76.8% of his passes for 975 yards, 14 touchdowns, and he’s yet to throw an interception. He’s coming off a 63-10 hammering of then-No.9 Illinois, which has vaulted Mendoza into the Heisman betting picture!

Indiana still has high-profile games at home against Oregon and at Penn State on the slate, which should help Mendoza. The junior quarterback transferred from California and has looked terrific. But can he stay at the top of the Heisman list?

Dante Moore (+1000)

Moore is a much more proven commodity than Mendoza, having moved up from +1200 to +1000. The Oregon quarterback has thrown for 962 yards, 11 touchdowns, and a single pick while completing 74.7% of his passes.

Moore backed up Dillon Gabriel after transferring from UCLA, and has looked great, albeit against weak competition. He’ll play Penn State on the road this week, followed by a home game against Indiana. We’ll be able to evaluate Moore properly after those games, but the junior signal-caller is off to a flying start for the 4-0 Ducks, who are one of the favorites in the CFP championship odds!

Carson Beck (+1200)

Beck is the biggest name in these Heisman odds, having transferred from Georgia to Miami after two outstanding years with the Bulldogs. The sixth-year senior (Beck redshirted his freshman year in 2020) has 972 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions for the No.2-ranked Hurricanes, completing 73.2% of his passes.

Beck also has two wins over ranked teams, beating then No.6-Notre Dame in Week 1, and then pounding then-No.18 South Florida 49-12. The Hurricanes have No.8 Florida State in two weeks, which will help, but that could be the last ranked team Beck sees this season.

The 22-year-old might need a massive performance against the Seminoles to stay at the top of the Heisman betting odds, or pad his stats against subpar competition. But Beck might be the best-equipped of all the top players to go to New York in December. At +1200, Beck’s price could look like a bargain!

Contenders in the 2025 Heisman Odds

Next, let’s consider the contenders in the 2025 Heisman winner odds.

Jeremiah Smith (+1400)

Smith is still the only non-quarterback among the top Heisman betting options, and he has caught 20 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns for the No.1-ranked Buckeyes. He was stifled in Ohio State’s 14-7 win over Texas in the season opener, but no player on either team had a good offensive game.

It’s going to be tough for Smith, a sophomore, to become the third pure receiver to win the Heisman. Travis Hunter won last year, but he did so more because he was also a standout cornerback. Smith doesn’t really return punts or kickoffs as well.

But as far as pure talent goes, there’s probably not a better receiver in the country than Smith. The Buckeyes have road games against Illinois and Michigan to come, along with a home game against Penn State. Smith will have to go crazy in those games, and I think he’s a little overvalued at +1400. It’s just so difficult for anyone other than quarterbacks to win the Heisman.

Gunnar Stockton (+1400)

Stockton has completed 70.8% of his attempts for 721 yards, four touchdowns, and no picks for the No.5 Bulldogs, and has also run for 124 yards and three scores. He was brilliant in a 44-41 overtime win at then-No.15 Tennessee, throwing for 304 yards and two scores, while running for another touchdown.

It’s the SEC, so there are plenty of opportunities for Stockton to boost his profile. This weekend, the Bulldogs host No.17 Alabama, while Ole Miss, Florida, Texas, and Georgia Tech are also on the slate. Stockton has looked comfortable under center for the Bulldogs, and I prefer his +1400 Heisman price to Smith.

Jayden Maiava (+1800)

I tipped Maiava as a longshot bet at +4500 two weeks ago, and now the USC quarterback is at +1800! Maiava has thrown for 1,223 yards, which is sixth in the country, along with nine touchdowns and no picks for the 4-0 Trojans. He also has four rushing touchdowns, leading the Trojans.

We’ll know more about Maiava after a stretch where USC plays three ranked teams in a row: No.23 Illinois and No.22 Notre Dame on the road, and No.19 Michigan at home. The Trojans also visit Oregon later in the season.

You would have gotten a better return two weeks ago on Maiava, but +1800 is still a good price for the UNLV transfer. If he gets through this stretch unscathed, he could be the Heisman betting favorite in three weeks time!

Best Longshot Heisman Odds for 2025

Finally, let’s look at the preseason favorite who could net you a big payday if you wager on his Heisman betting odds!

Arch Manning (+3000)

I’ll put Manning as my longshot pick, and he has looked better recently for the 3-1 Longhorns. Manning has completed 61.3% of his passes for 888 yards, nine touchdowns, and three picks. It was always a tough place for Manning to start, on the road against the defending champions at Ohio State.

Manning has a road game against Florida, and then the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma, along with a road trip to Georgia, and home games against a good Vanderbilt team, and Texas A&M. If Manning can play well in those games, he can move back up the rankings. But the Ohio State game will be challenging for him to come back from.

2025 Heisman Trophy Prediction and Betting Pick

I’m bullish on Maiava, and I wouldn’t be against a small wager on the USC quarterback at his price. But my Heisman prediction is Dante Moore from Oregon, as I think the Ducks have a better team, which has to come into play.

The Ducks are built to air it out, and Moore will have plenty of chances to put up big stats. At +1000, I feel confident in making Dante Moore my Heisman betting pick!
