Morocco vs. Nigeria Betting Preview – 2026 AFCON Semifinal Odds and Predictions

The Morocco vs. Nigeria odds for the second Africa Cup of Nations semifinal on Wednesday give Morocco the edge. But Nigeria’s attacking prowess should worry the hosts in what should be a fascinating matchup!

I’ll support you with my AFCON semifinal preview, looking at how each team got here, and key players. You’ll then receive my Morocco vs. Nigeria betting prediction at the conclusion of this article!

Morocco vs. Nigeria Odds and Betting Lines (AFCON Semifinal)

These AFCON semifinal odds are courtesy of Lucky Rebel:

TEAM MONEYLINE SPREAD TOTAL TIE NO BET TO ADVANCE
Morocco +115 0, -0.5 (-115) OVER 2.0 (-128) -182 -174
Nigeria +225 0, +0.5 (+109) UNDER 2.0 (+108) +138 +128

Morocco (+115) gets the edge at soccer betting sites as they attempt to win the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil! The Atlas Lions have an implied probability of 46.5% to win on the moneyline (meaning win in 90 minutes), but it’s 63.6% to advance to the final game in Rabat on Sunday.

Nigeria (+225) comes back with a 30.8% implied probability to win in regular time, but they’re at 43.78% to advance. The Super Eagles have been scoring for fun, but they’ll need their defense to step up to progress to the championship game.

These two have met 13 times, with Morocco winning six times, Nigeria winning five, and drawing two. Morocco defeated Nigeria 4-0 in the African Nations final in 2018, but that’s not a tournament where top players usually participate.

Morocco – Can the Atlas Lions Make Home Advantage Count?

Morocco – Can the Atlas Lions Make Home Advantage Count?

  • 1st in Group A
  • Won 1-0 vs. Tanzania (Round of 16)
  • Won 2-0 vs. Cameroon (Quarterfinals)

Morocco entered the tournament as the favorites in the AFCON winner odds, and topped Group A easily. They squeezed past Tanzania 1-0 in the Round of 16. The Atlas Lions then defeated Cameroon 2-0 to reach the semifinals, powered by Brahim Diaz.

The Real Madrid attacker leads AFCON with five goals and has scored in every game of the tournament. Veteran striker Ayoub El Kaabi is next with three goals. But Morocco is incredible defensively, allowing just one goal so far. That was a penalty in a 1-1 group-stage draw with Mali.

Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Nayef Aguerd, and Adam Masina have been stout in front of keeper Yassine Bounou. This gives Diaz a platform to attack freely for Morocco, and they’ll need their defensive form to continue against, arguably, the best attacking team in the tournament. But outside of Diaz and El Kaabi, Morocco has scored one goal, from Ismael Saibari. Someone else has to find the back of the net.

Still, with the home fans on their side (although Nigerian fans travel well), the Atlas Lions are deserved favorites in the Morocco vs. Nigeria odds for this match!

Nigeria – Will the Super Eagles Improve Enough Defensively?

  • 1st in Group C
  • Won 4-0 vs. Mozambique (Round of 16)
  • Won 2-0 vs. Algeria (Quarterfinals)

Nigeria rolled through Group C with three wins, although a 3-2 win against Tunisia came after going up 3-2. The Super Eagles then thumped Mozambique 4-0 in the Round of 16, and put together their best performance of the tournament in a 2-0 win over Algeria.

Nigeria’s 14 goals lead AFCON, and half have come from Victor Osimhen (four) and Ademola Lookman (three). Midfielder Raphael Onyedika has chipped in with two for Nigeria, who allowed four goals in the group stage, but none so far in the knockout rounds.

However, the Super Eagles will have to deal with a major loss in midfield as captain Wilfred Ndidi is suspended due to yellow cards. Onyedika and Alex Iwobi might be asked to do more defensively in Ndidi’s absence. However, that’s not really Iwobi’s game, as he’s more of a creator, and he has been great here in Morocco.

Can Nigeria’s defense hold up? That’s the key to their AFCON semifinal odds.

Morocco vs. Nigeria Betting Prediction and Pick

This should be an intriguing matchup of the tournament’s best offensive team (Nigeria) against the best defense (Morocco). Nigeria’s attack is fantastic, but they can be exposed defensively, and now they’re missing Ndidi.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s defense is in great form, and they have the AFCON top scorer in Diaz. They also showed against Cameroon that they can play on the counterattack. If Nigeria wants to dominate the ball, Morocco can make them pay.

Therefore, I’m taking the hosts in my Morocco vs. Nigeria betting prediction! I think Morocco will settle it in regulation, so the Morocco moneyline odds of +115 offer a decent return.
