2026-27 EPL Title Betting Preview: Odds, Favorites, and Prediction

I picked Arsenal to win the title before last season, and it’s hard to go a different route for 2026-27. The Gunners finished 7+ points above everyone else in the league, despite consistently struggling with injuries.

They have the quality and depth all across the board to handle most challenges. Arsenal’s attack is the biggest question mark, as it can be stale and predictable at times. Still, the Gunners rarely had the luxury to pick their top players at the same time last year because of health issues.

At best, Arsenal will be much better as Havertz, Odegoord, and Saka should play more, Merino will be back, and Tzolis will keep his excellent preseason form.

At worst, the team will be on the same level as last year, which was enough given the defense. David Raya was the best goalkeeper in the Premier League last year, Gabriel and Saliba form the best centreback partnership, and the entire team works hard without the ball.

Many neutrals felt Arsenal leaned on their defense too often, but it worked and should work this year again. There might be some issues early on because of Timber and Saliba’s injuries. It looks like Arsenal are looking for a central defender for the start of the season to address this.

Even if they don’t find such a player, they still can manage. Mosquera is a very promising prospect, Ben White is fit, and the likes of Calafiori and Hincapie are good enough to get some minutes out of position.

Overall, Arsenal is rightly favored. They were the best team last year and come back with a similar group of players, better health records up front, and with plenty of experience now. Sure, their defense might struggle early on and they won’t always dazzle the neutrals, but Arsenal are the team to beat.

The big question here is whether +125 is a price high enough to back them, so let’s talk about the other potential winners, too.

Manchester City are hard to evaluate right now, for multiple reasons. The big one is Pep Guardiola’s departure. Losing one of the most influential managers in the world is always hard, even if you’re prepared for the transition.

The Spaniard selects players with very specific requirements and trains them to play in a unique way, so it’s hard to follow his footsteps. However, the new manager Enzo Maresca is one of Pep’s most successful disciples.

He inherits a very strong squad and excellent financial firepower, so Maresca will consistently receive new world-class reinforcements. There are reasons to believe he won’t struggle as much as some expect in his opening season.

At the same time, can he do what Arne Slot achieved a couple of years ago and win the title immediately after a legendary manager stepped down? I’m not quite sure, because this team comes with many question marks.

Rodri is going to Barcelona, the team has struggled to defend properly for two years now, players like Foden and Marmoush can’t find any consistency, Grealish just suffered a serious injury last season and is coming back from a loan …

It feels like Maresca will need to do too much too soon, at least in regards to this season. Winning the title is not impossible, but it’s very hard, and the odds are not high enough to back City.

I’m very optimistic about Liverpool’s long-term future under new manager Andoni Iraola. He might be the next great manager in the making, so I fully expect a strong improvement in his first season at the club.

At the same time, Iraola is the kind of manager who needs time and the right recruitment to implement his ideas. There could be a transition period on, so the results might be inconsistent in the first half of the season. Such a scenario would be enough for the title race to go out of Liverpool’s reach.

The Reds need a few more signings and the World Cup didn’t help, as Iraola didn’t have enough time with his full squad to prepare properly. I expect great things from him in the long run, but this season should be too inconsistent for a title run.
