Ryder Cup 2023 Odds

One of the greatest spectacles in competitive golf is nearing tee-off time at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in beautiful Rome, Italy.  The par 71, 7,200-yard course is home to the 2023 Ryder Cup, from Friday, 29, 2023, to October 1, 2023.

We have the latest 2023 Ryder Cup odds and the best bets that you should make at golf betting sites. As simple as the Ryder Cup is from a match play perspective, there are hundreds of bets for this event in Rome.

With that in mind, there is a myriad of betting value on the board for the Ryder Cup. Betting on Team USA or Team Europe to win is only one of several Ryder Cup bets available. The Americans are hoping that they can win for their backers for the 28th time.

Team USA has won the Ryder Cup 28 times to Team Europe’s 14. In 2021, at the latest Ryder Cup, the USA blasted Europe for a record-breaking 19-9 win. Nevertheless, Team Europe has won four of the previous six Ryder Cup events1. The United States hasn’t won on European soil since 1993.

As we approach Friday, head below for our 2023 Ryder Cup predictions and the latest Ryder Cup odds from Italy.

2023 Ryder Cup Prop Bets

Check out some of our favorite Ryder Cup prop bets, courtesy of BetUS:

Top Scandinavian Golfer at Ryder Cup

PLAYERODDS
Viktor Hovland-150
Ludvig Aberg+225
Nicolai Hojgaard+425

This is the first prop bet that stood out at sports betting sites. In our opinion, Viktor Hovland should be a larger favorite over Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Hojgaard.

We are going to hear a lot about Aberg and Hojgaard in the future, but at the moment, Hovland is a class above his teammates. Hovland is coming off an impressive 2022-23 campaign on the PGA Tour.

His season included a FedEx Cup title, which he captured only a month ago at the TOUR Championship. After winning the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at the BMW Championship, Hovland repeated to capture the FedEx Cup at East Lake Golf Club.

This isn’t all from Hovland, either. Even in the tournaments he didn’t win, Hovland was playing competitive golf. The Norwegian was in contention at the Masters and finished T7.

In addition to a solid showing at the Masters, Hovland was T13 at the Open Championship in Scotland. Earlier in the year, Hovland won the Memorial Tournament in a playoff in June.

Last week, Hovland played a Ryder Cup tune-up event on the DP World Tour. There was no rust or letdown after winning the FedEx Cup. Hovland finished T5 for his fifth straight performance in the Top 132.

There are no indications that Hovland is ready to slow down at the Ryder Cup. At -150 odds, Hovland is a serious bargain to score more points than Aberg and Hojgaard this weekend.

The Bet
VIKTOR HOVLAND

Top British Golfer at Ryder Cup

PLAYERODDS
Rory McIlroy+200
Tommy Fleetwood+330
Matt Fitzpatrick+400
Tyrrell Hatton+425
Justin Rose+600
Robert MacIntyre+2000

The British field at the 2023 Ryder Cup is quite impressive. From Justin Rose to Rory McIlroy, the Brits undoubtedly have some depth this year.

McIlroy, who is a native of Northern Ireland and holds a British passport, has always spoken fondly of the Ryder Cup. He likes playing this event, and will certainly appreciate being a member of Team Europe.

After Team Europe was blown out at the 2021 Ryder Cup, expect McIlroy to arrive in Rome with a chip on his shoulder. He did not win a major championship, nor did he win the FedEx Cup, but McIlroy was still one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour.

From May 21 to the season finale on August 27, McIlroy didn’t finish worse than T9. That stretch included five Top 5 finishes for McIlroy, including runner-up at the US Open and a win at the Scottish Open.

Following the PGA Tour season, McIlroy flew to Dubai and won the Dubai Desert Classic on January 30. In his latest outing, he finished T7 in a prep tournament at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Golf Club3.

McIlroy’s superior driving ability should provide him with an edge against this group. The 34-year-old veteran is first in driving distance and accuracy. Additionally, he’s second in SG: Off The Tee and SG: Total4.

He likely wants this more than anyone else at the 2023 Ryder Cup. Expect McIlroy to land at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club with passion and a competitive fire in his eyes. McIlroy should be the top performer for the Brits.

The Bet
RORY MCILROY

Top American Rookie at Ryder Cup

PLAYERODDS
Max Homa+150
Sam Burns+240
Wyndham Clark+260
Brian Harman+500

There is a strong value bet in the top American rookie Ryder Cup odds. Max Homa, the +150 betting favorite, is a prodigious asset for Team USA, but there is stronger value out there for this prop bet.

We are looking at Wyndham Clark to finish as the top American rookie. At the very least, Clark deserves more respect than +260 odds against his fellow countrymen in this group.

Clark was one of the hottest golfers on the PGA Tour from March 19 to June 18. He had five Top 5 performances, which was highlighted by a win at the US Open. A month earlier, Clark won the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club.

Following his major championship at the US Open, Clark cooled off considerably. That is often case for first-time major winners. That said, Clark was regaining his form at the end of the season.

In the FedEx Cup Playoffs, Clark finished T15 at the BMW Championship and then improved 12 spots to third at the TOUR Championship5. He has some confidence back in his swing and should be a solid performer for Team USA.

Wyndham finished 12th in SG: Total to finish well above the Tour average. Also, the 29-year-old native of Denver, Colorado, notched enough points for fifth in the 2022-23 FedEx Cup standings6.

2023 Ryder Cup Predictions and Odds To Win

The following 2023 Ryder Cup betting odds are courtesy of BetUS:

TEAMODDS
USA+100
Europe-110
Tie+1400

The odds for the Ryder Cup favor Team Europe winning at -110. Both countries are stacked with talent, but oddsmakers, at BetUS, are giving the edge to the team on home soil in Europe.

If there is a tie, the team that won the previous Ryder Cup will retain the title. In this case, Team USA would lift the trophy at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.

The Ryder Cup margin of victory odds do not give the edge to either side. Team Europe is +375 to win by 1-3 points, while the USA has the same odds at +375.

Oddsmakers foresee a much more competitive Ryder Cup than in 2021. We agree with this sentiment in the Ryder Cup odds. This is highly unlikely to be a runaway win.

There is a lot to like about both teams this weekend in Rome. For Team USA, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, and Brooks Koepka are all capable golfers. Even players like Brian Harman and Sam Burns provide the USA with good depth.

That said, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa have to step their games up a notch. Thomas, in particular, had an ugly season to forget in 2022-23. He never looked like himself and struggled considerably down the final stretch.

Morikawa was expecting big things this past season, but he didn’t win a tournament and was largely inconsistent. Also, which version of Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth show up at Marco Simone? Neither were at their best in July and August.

After Team Europe was embarrassed in a historic loss at the 2021 Ryder Cup, motivation has to be on this side. McIlroy and Jon Rahm could prove to be the most dangerous duo in this tournament. They just happen to be on the same squad, too.

Including two of the most highly-rated golfers in the world over the last two years, Team Europe has the FedEx Cup champion on their roster. Currently, Team Europe has three of the Top 5 golfers in the world, according to the Official World Golf Ranking.

McIlroy and Rahm are second and third, while Hovland is fourth in the world. Despite botching the FedEx Cup, Scheffler continues to lead with 553.5 total points7. As much talent as Scheffler has, his putter continues to betray him in big spots on the green.

On home soil, Team Europe should prevail over the Americans in a tightly played Ryder Cup.

The Bet
TEAM EUROPE

Margin of Victory at Ryder Cup

POINTSODDS
Europe 1-3 Pts+375
Europe 4-6 Pts+550
Europe 7+ Points+600

The odds for the Ryder Cup margin of victory offer three options for Team Europe. The 7+ option might be tempting at +600, but we expect a close match play event at the Ryder Cup.

+375 odds possess an abundance of betting value on Team Europe winning by 1 to 3 points. Team USA will prevent the Europeans from returning the favor in a massive blowout.

However, they should have enough in crunch time to edge ahead over Team USA. In a 15-13 victory, Team Europe takes back the Ryder Cup trophy and their fifth crown in the last seven events.

The Bet
EUROPE 1-3 POINTS
