Expert Golf Predictions This Week (With Reasoning)

If you want to read about the reasoning for each one of the bets we locked in this week, continue reading below:

Ludvig Aberg Top 10 Finish (+130)

Ludvig Åberg profiles as one of the strongest top-10 plays on the board at the Memorial Tournament. The Swedish star has been one of the PGA Tour’s most consistent performers this season and looks well-positioned to contend again at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Åberg has already recorded six top-10 finishes this year, including three in his last four starts. One of those performances came at the PGA Championship, where he finished T4 against one of the strongest fields in golf. While he cooled off slightly with a T17 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, that result does little to diminish what has otherwise been an outstanding stretch of golf.

Course history is another positive. In his only appearance at Muirfield Village, Åberg finished T5 in 2024, proving that his game translates well to one of the PGA Tour’s most demanding venues.

The underlying metrics remain elite. Åberg ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Total and 4th in SG: Tee-to-Green, a combination that should serve him well on a course that rewards precision ball striking and consistent all-around play.

At +150 odds, Åberg offers excellent value to finish inside the top 10 and is one of the best golf betting picks this week at the Memorial Tournament.

Xander Schauffele Top 10 Finish (+135)

Xander Schauffele has built an impressive track record at the Memorial Tournament, making him an attractive play at +135 to finish inside the top 10 once again.

Schauffele has posted back-to-back T8 finishes at Muirfield Village Golf Club, demonstrating a strong comfort level on one of the PGA Tour’s most demanding layouts. His combination of consistency and all-around skill has made him a reliable performer at this event, and there’s little reason to expect that trend to change this year.

The 2026 season has been another productive one for Schauffele. He has already recorded five top-10 finishes, including four in his last six starts. Most recently, he delivered a T7 finish at the PGA Championship, while a T12 at the RBC Heritage narrowly kept him from posting five top-10 results in six tournaments.

Statistically, Schauffele continues to excel across the board, ranking 9th in Strokes Gained: Total, a reflection of his balanced game and ability to contend on a wide variety of courses.

With proven success at Muirfield Village, strong recent form, and elite all-around metrics, Schauffele at +135 is one of the best golf prop bets this week to finish inside the top 10.

Thomas Detry Top 10 Finish (+130)

Thomas Detry offers strong value to finish inside the top 10 at LIV Golf Andalucia, with +130 odds looking attractive given his consistency throughout the LIV season.

Detry has quickly become one of the more reliable performers on the LIV circuit, recording top-10 finishes in five of his first eight starts, including three top-10 results in his last four tournaments. That level of consistency makes him an appealing option in a placement market where simply contending throughout the week can be enough to cash a ticket.

The Belgian’s underlying numbers support his recent success. He ranks among LIV Golf’s leaders in scoring opportunities, averaging 4.84 birdies per round, while his power off the tee remains a major weapon, sitting fifth in longest-drive statistics this season. Those traits give him plenty of upside at a venue where aggressive play can create separation on the leaderboard.

Detry’s strong LIV campaign has also placed him among the league’s top performers in the season standings, reflecting the steady form he has displayed throughout 2026.

With his combination of recent form, scoring ability, and proven success on the LIV circuit, Detry at +130 for a top-10 finish is one of the stronger golf betting values on the board this week.

Russell Henley Outright Winner (+2000)

On the PGA Tour this week, we have the Memorial Tournament at the superb Muirfield Village Golf Club. As usual, my full three-man squad will be revealed on The Sports Geek YouTube channel, but I’m also sharing my number one selection for the event here.

I’m not usually a fan of backing players to win in consecutive weeks, but Russell Henley delivered for me and my followers last week, and his profile suits this golf course quite well too.

Henley is a seriously classy player who doesn’t possess many flashy attributes. He doesn’t hit the ball particularly far at all, he doesn’t shape it both ways, and he doesn’t generate a high ball flight, meaning he doesn’t play with excessive spin.

However, his tee-to-green game is so impressive that he continues to contend on courses that appear ill-suited to his strengths. A perfect example of this was his tie for third place at this year’s Masters.

Augusta National couldn’t have been a much worse fit for his game, yet he still managed to play his way into contention and very nearly woon the tournament outright.

What I like most about Henley is his commitment to his game plan, which is where much of his consistency comes from. He finds fairways, hits greens, and then gives himself opportunities on the putting surfaces, which is something he generally capitalises on with great success.

As a reward for his consistency, Henley is now a six-time winner on the PGA Tour and, considering his lack of power and the absence of any particularly extravagant credentials, it is remarkable that he has climbed to fifth in the Official World Golf Ranking.

That alone highlights just how much he gets out of his game. This week will be all about hitting greens in regulation, and I believe Henley has an excellent chance of making a serious run at the title.
