Top World Cup Player Prop Bets for June 21: (With Reasoning)
Here’s why I selected today’s World Cup player prop bets:
Spain vs. Saudi Arabia: Lamine Yamal to Score & Spain 4+ Corners (+110)
Lamine Yamal didn’t start Spain’s opening game against Cabo Verde because of injury, but I suspect he did play in the final minutes of this game. The shocking draw will likely force head coach Luis de la Fuente to start Yamal this time around.
The winger should be dangerous against Saudi Arabia, as the opposition will almost certainly give up the ball and focus on defending. Yamal should have more than enough opportunities to showcase his talent in this one, so I won’t be surprised if he scores a goal.
To beef up the odds a bit, I’ve combined this with 4+ corners for Spain. The team had 11 against Cabo Verde in the opener, while Saudi Arabia gave up 14 against Uruguay. Since Spain will likely dominate possession, covering this line should be easy.
Uruguay vs. Cabo Verde: Darwin Nunez to Score or Assist (-118)
Cabo Verde completely shocked the world against Spain not only by getting a draw but by showing one of the most disciplined performances from an underdog I’ve seen at the World Cup.
Despite defending for essentially the entire game, Cabo Verde only committed one foul and barely broke their defensive lines at any given moment. I expect a similar approach against Uruguay, but I’m not sure it will work this time around.
For a start, the South American team won’t be underestimating Cabo Verde this time around. They know how well the Africans defend, so I expect urgency from the first minute. Uruguay will dominate the ball and push for goals.
The entire setup of the match is tailor-made for Darwin Nunez to be in the eye of the storm. The forward’s chaotic nature usually leads to chances when the opposition defends so deep, as he moves really well without the ball and finds space even against teams that defend in numbers.
Naturally, the big question here is whether Nunez can finish, but I’m more than happy to back him to score or assist at these odds.
