Alexandre Sarr (-200) is the odds-on favorite to become the No. 1 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. This means the 19-year-old French center has an implied chance to be selected at No. 1 of 66.7%.
Public sentiment isn’t as strong on Sarr as it was in late May. The odds were -300 odds (75% probability) just three weeks ago. In contrast, Zaccharie Risacher and Donovan Clingan’s prices have shortened. Risacher was previously +225, while Clingan’s NBA No. 1 draft pick odds have been cut in half from +800 to +400!
One notable name off the board for the NBA Draft odds is Bronny James. Although bettors have been eager to take a flier on Bronny going No. 1, he is not currently on the board at BetUS.
Bronny’s odds favor a second-round selection to the Los Angeles Lakers, which is the sensible expectation.

Alexandre Sarr (-200)
The 7’1” Frenchman plays for the Perth Wildcats in the Australian National Basketball League. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks for the Wildcats before declaring for the NBA Draft.
Sarr is a fantastic defender who can switch, which is huge in today’s NBA. At 225 pounds, he is still a little light, but he just turned 19 at the end of April. There is still plenty of time for Sarr to fill out.
His offensive game needs some work, but it would be interesting to see how he would work with the Atlanta guard combo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, who are both the subject of trade rumors right now.
Is there a specific reason for Sarr’s No. 1 NBA Draft odds regressing? There are no injuries or negative news around him.
Rather, Risacher and Clinghan are seeing stronger support from the betting public. This is all that appears to be behind the price shift.
Zaccharie Risacher (+150)
Risacher is another Frenchman in contention for the #1 pick. He plays for JL Bourg in LNB Pro A, France’s best basketball league. The youngster was named the League’s Best Young Player this year, averaging 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Risacher is a 6’8” forward who can play either small or power forward, and his offensive game is ahead of Sarr’s right now. Many believe that Atlanta’s biggest need is a wing player and Risacher fits that bill.
At 202 pounds, Risacher could stand to gain a few pounds. Still, he just turned 19 in April, so time is on his side. Furthermore, Risacher shot 38% from three-point land, and played well for JL Bourg in the playoffs. He is definitely an intriguing pick for the top overall spot.
Risacher’s NBA Draft betting odds are on the move after sitting at +225. He’s down to +150 to go first at the top sports betting apps and sites! There are teams interested in Riascher, and the San Antonio Spurs are supposedly willing to trade up for him.
The Spurs have the No. 4 overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft, so would Gregg Popovich pull the trigger and work a deal with the Atlanta Hawks for No. 1? Regardless if it’s the Spurs selecting or another franchise, more than a few bettors recently believe that Risacher is the top pick.
Donovan Clingan (+400)
Clingan breaks up the international party to rank third in the 2024 NBA Draft betting odds. He spent two years at the University of Connecticut, winning national titles in both seasons. He averaged 9.8 points and 6.4 rebounds over two seasons at UConn.
His impact on the offensive end was huge too, since he averaged 2.1 blocks in two seasons. Clingan is massive at 7’2”, 280 pounds.
Athleticism is an issue with Clingan, and there are concerns that he will be hunted for switches by smaller players on the perimeter. The Hawks also already have a center in Clint Capela, although he just turned 30 and has a year left on his contract.
Bettors are turning to Clingan to go No. 1 in the 2024 NBA Draft. He was +800 only three weeks ago! Will Clingan’s price continue to shorten as June 26 draws closer?
The big man helped lead the Huskies to the national title in back-to-back years, and recent money appears to indicate that he has a good chance of being drafted No. 1.
NBA Draft Predictions for the #1 Pick
Keep in mind that Atlanta can always trade the #1 pick, which I’ll discuss later. Based on their team needs, Risacher should be their pick. However, I believe they’ll go with Sarr, who has a higher upside than Risacher.
The NBA Draft 2024 odds have Risacher gaining ground on his teammate on the French national team. Sarr is still in the driver’s seat to be the top pick, though.
This is typically the time of the year when teams and bettors start to overthink things, but logic typically prevails and the original projections ultimately end up being correct.
This draft class is considered very weak, so going for talent instead of present needs is the sensible strategy, especially with the top pick.

Risacher’s odds of being selected No. 2 have moved from -150 to -140. In the wake of his price improving to go off the board at No. 1, he’s not as likely to be picked at No. 2, according to oddsmakers.
This means that Risacher’s odds have dropped from +250 to +165. Nevertheless, if the Hawks take Sarr, the Wizards will take Risacher. If he goes to Atlanta, Washington will take Sarr. But since I believe Sarr is going first, I’m sending Risacher to Washington.

The prices for the No. 3 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft have shifted considerably since late May. Reed Sheppard is now the most likely pick at No. 3. He was previously +450 and is now a +125 favorite.
Stephon Castle and Risacher were tied for the shortest odds at +350, but they have gone down the board. Sports Illustrated reports that Castle won’t work out for teams that already have a point guard.
The best value on the board is Clingan at +250. The odds for him are fantastic and he would give the Rockets a defensive presence inside. Clingan would also be a good foil for emerging star Alperen Sengun.

If Young and/or Murray are moved, the Hawks will be more apt to keep the pick and start rebuilding. But I think they’ll stick with the pick and take a chance on Sarr.
