MLB World Series 2026 Betting Preview: Odds, Predictions, & Picks

As we near the midway point of the regular season, the 2026 World Series odds have started to shift, but one thing remains the same: the Los Angeles Dodgers are still on top. The question for bettors is whether they’re still the team to beat or if it’s time to look elsewhere for value.

In this July betting update, I break down the latest championship odds, evaluate the top contenders, and share my best World Series predictions based on where the market stands now.

2026 World Series Betting Odds

The following World Series winner odds are courtesy of Lucky Rebel:

TEAM ODDS
Los Angeles Dodgers +190
New York Yankees +460
Atlanta Braves +900
Seattle Mariners +950
Milwaukee Brewers +1200
Philadelphia Phillies +1400
Toronto Blue Jays +2200
Tampa Bay Rays +2700
Chicago Cubs +2800
Texas Rangers +3000

With the All-Star Game approaching, the Los Angeles Dodgers (+190) remain clear betting favorites to win the World Series and three-peat. At +190, the Dodgers have a 34.5% implied probability to win at top MLB betting sites. This is a modest improvement from their pre-season odds of +210, or a 32.3% probability.

The New York Yankees (+460) have steadily been closing the gap after opening the season with the second-best World Series odds at +1000. Their implied probability has climbed from 9.1% to 17.9%, reflecting growing confidence in their chances.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves (+900) have made an even more dramatic move up the board. Atlanta is bouncing back from a season to forget a year ago and is firmly back in contention.

The Braves began the campaign as longer shots at +1800, but as of July 1 they now own the third-best odds to win the World Series at +900, implying a 10% chance.

The Seattle Mariners (+950), who reached the ALCS in 2025, are also expected to remain in the mix. They fell to the Toronto Blue Jays (+2200) in that series, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s club is under .500 and struggling so far in 2026. At +2200, Toronto’s odds have drifted from their preseason price of +1300.

World Series 2026 Betting Favorites

Prior to making your 2026 World Series picks at World Series betting sites, let’s dissect the leading favorites and how their rosters shape up for the Fall Classic:

Los Angeles Dodgers (+190)

In a World Series that literally came down to inches against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Dodgers prevailed in a thrilling Game 7 at Rogers Centre. The finish was dramatic with a ninth-inning comeback that turned what looked like certain defeat into a championship for Los Angeles.

Now the focus shifts to what comes next.

With a roster that many would argue is even stronger than last year’s, the Dodgers once again sit at the top of the board in the World Series 2026 odds. Through 85 games, the Dodgers lead MLB with a record of 55-30, and they may not even have applied full pressure yet on the diamond.

The question for bettors is simple: Is there enough value at the current price to justify backing them to join the 2000 Yankees as just the fifth team in MLB history to three-peat?

Let’s evaluate the Dodgers’ roster below:

Pitching Staff

The Dodgers boast a high-upside rotation that can shut down any lineup, though managing health remains their defining summer storyline.

With Blake Snell sidelined, the burden at the top has fallen entirely on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. Fortunately, they have delivered in historic fashion.

Yamamoto has fully assumed the ace mantle, pitching to a brilliant 2.67 ERA and an elite 0.89 WHIP over 15 starts. Meanwhile, Ohtani’s return to the mound has been magnificent. He carries a spectacular 1.58 ERA (6-1 record) while maintaining his status as a dual-threat All-Star and Cy Young candidate.

Contrasting pre-season doubts, the bullpen has quietly emerged as an elite asset. LA leads MLB with a +32 Pitching Run Value and ranks seventh overall with a 3.19 bullpen ERA.

Following an injury to Edwin Díaz, high-profile signing Tanner Scott has completely locked down the closer role, flashing a dominant 2.19 ERA and a stellar 9.33 K/BB ratio.

The primary X-factor remains Snell’s recovery from a severe elbow strain. While his recent June 26 bullpen session was encouraging, rookie Gavin Wrobleski (9 wins, 1.01 WHIP) provides crucial insurance.

Offense

The Dodgers’ offense remains a relentless gauntlet. As a unit, Los Angeles currently ranks first in MLB in runs scored (452), on-base percentage (.346), slugging (.441), and team OPS (.787), alongside mashing 116 home runs.

Shohei Ohtani, the leading National League All-Star vote-getter, is delivering an MVP-caliber campaign at DH, carrying a scorching .297 batting average, a .958 OPS, 18 home runs, and 50 RBIs.

Right behind Ohtani, Freddie Freeman remains the gold standard for consistency, anchoring the first base spot with a .291 average, 13 home runs, and a team-leading 90 hits.

While superstars draw the headlines, center fielder Andy Pages is the lineup’s ultimate breakout wild card. Pages is putting up elite middle-of-the-order numbers, slugging 16 home runs with a team-high 60 RBIs, ranking near the top of the Majors in total run production.

This immense surge perfectly compensates for standard lineup adjustments. High-profile winter signing Kyle Tucker has settled into a disciplined role in his $240 million LA debut, providing a steady .337 OBP and 44 RBIs.

Meanwhile, shortstop Mookie Betts has prioritized stabilizing the infield defense with an elite +7 Defensive Runs Saved, keeping the unit elite despite a lower-than-usual .235 average.

There aren’t any glaring holes here, so expect the Dodgers to continue to produce in the batter’s box.

New York Yankees (+460)

Following another frustrating October exit, this time a disappointing ALDS loss to the Blue Jays, the Yankees enter the summer stretch driven to snap their World Series drought dating back to 2009.

While New York spent the pre-season mired in uncertainty following news that ace Gerrit Cole would miss the entire previous campaign, the narrative has firmly shifted as we cross into July 2026.

Cole is officially back on the mound and working his way into peak form, giving the Bronx Bombers a completely different look at the top of the rotation.

At 48-36 and trailing the Rays by just 1.5 games in a dogfight for the AL East, some question marks have settled slightly. However, we remain weeks away from an Aaron Judge return.

Check out the latest form, rotation health, and updated stats for the Yankees as they position themselves for a deep 2026 postseason run:

Pitching Staff

The Yankees entered 2026 desperate for structural stability after an injury-plagued campaign. Heading into July at 48-36, the narrative has completely shifted.

New York’s primary rotation components are finally intact, translating to success in the middle of the season. Overall, the Yankees’ pitching staff is first in the Majors, boasting an impressive 3.30 ERA.

After missing the entire prior season recovering from Tommy John surgery, ace Gerrit Cole is steadily logging solid frames. While a 4.06 ERA over seven starts shows minor rust, his 34 strikeouts in 37.2 innings prove his production is returning.

Complementing him is Carlos Rodón, who bypassed spring delays to spin an impressive 3.30 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over nine starts, showcasing a dominant 10.1 K/9.

The headline of the summer is the sensational AL Cy Young run from Cam Schlittler. Shaking off any pre-season depth concerns, Schlittler has exploded onto the scene to lead the Yankees’ staff, leading the American League with a strong 1.62 ERA and an elite 0.92 WHIP through 100 innings. His historic command (10.62 K/9) has firmly established him as the frontrunner for the AL Cy Young.

Last year’s offseason acquisition Max Fried has been solid, with a pristine 3.21 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. With Luis Gil (4.12 ERA) stabilizing the back end, New York finally commands the four-deep postseason rotation required to challenge deeper lineups.

The bullpen has answered the call to fix last year’s late-inning collapses. Shaking off their previous 4.37 ERA, the relief unit has dropped its collective mark to 3.65. High-leverage arms have consistently locked down lineups, giving the Yankees the roster depth they lacked.

Offense

The Yankees’ offense remains the ultimate power machine in baseball, but a tough health update has altered the American League landscape. At the turn of July, the Bronx Bombers lead the Majors in home runs (122), rank second in slugging (.426), and fifth in runs scored (409).

However, their depth is being pushed hard following a massive blow: captain and two-time reigning MVP Aaron Judge was placed on the 10-day Injured List with a right rib stress fracture, shutting him down until at least late July or early August. Before landing on the shelf, Judge was pacing another elite campaign, hitting 17 home runs with a .908 OPS.

In his absence, the Yankees have leaned heavily on the unlikely emergence of Ben Rice, who has taken over the team lead with 22 home runs, 53 RBIs, and an elite .916 OPS across 79 games. Can Rice maintain this field, though? He’s shown signs of regressing recently, which I wouldn’t be surprised if it carries over into the second half of the season.

Alongside him, veteran Paul Goldschmidt has provided a steady .284 with 14 home runs and 41 RBIs. Goldschmidt is a solid depth piece, but with Judge out, a little too much is being asked of the 38-year-old right now. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Cody Bellinger are also solid depth bats, but Judge’s bat is desperately needed.

Atlanta Braves (+900)

The Atlanta Braves’ 2026 World Series odds are on the move and they are now viewed amongst the favorites. In 2025, the Braves had a major down year amid a record of 76-86 and fourth in the NL East.

With a healthier roster and a better perspective, they’ve turned things around and are leading the division. They have a 3.5-game advantage over the Phillies with a record of 47-38, but it remains a wide-open battle.

Is this a World Series team or is their line movement from +1800 to +900 just a facade? Let’s dive in before making any World Series winner picks:

Pitching Staff

As a collective unit, Atlanta’s pitching staff has shouldered the load beautifully. The Braves currently rank second in the Majors with a stellar 3.24 team ERA and lead the National League in total runs allowed (302), providing an incredibly secure floor for futures bettors.

At the front of the rotation is Chris Sale, who is putting together a classic season. Through 15 starts, Sale has been completely unhittable, third in the National League with a spectacular 2.10 ERA and racking up 109 strikeouts over 90 innings.

His resurgent velocity and vintage slider have firmly established him as the frontline ace Atlanta desperately needs. Behind him, veteran left-hander Martín Pérez has provided steady work with a 3.00 ERA over 72 innings, while Grant Holmes (3.96 ERA) and Bryce Elder (4.01 ERA) have stabilized the middle of the rotation.

The entire World Series betting calculus for Atlanta, however, rotates around Spencer Strider. His season was paused by an elbow issue that has sidelined him until at least late August, leaving a line of 4-2 with a 5.31 ERA over eight starts.

Fortunately, Atlanta’s relief core has been deep enough to absorb the blow. The bullpen has been an elite weapon, anchored by closer Raisel Iglesias (1.37 ERA, 16 saves) and a breakout lockdown year from Dylan Lee, who carries an absurd 0.97 ERA across 38 appearances.

If Strider returns at 100% to form a terrifying October 1-2 punch with Sale, this pitching staff has a high ceiling to match up against the Dodgers.

Offense

The division-leading Braves are thriving in spite of their bats, ranking a pedestrian 13th in runs scored (390) and 23rd in on-base percentage (.311). They have frequently been forced to rely on the long ball (11th in MLB with 103 home runs) to bail out stagnant innings but still aren’t regarded as a power team.

At the top of the order, Matt Olson continues to provide lethal middle-of-the-lineup muscle, pacing the team with 20 home runs, 52 RBIs, and a robust .530 slugging percentage.

He is flanked by a surging Michael Harris II, who is hitting well with a stellar .297 average and 14 home runs. Meanwhile, rookie backstop Drake Baldwin has been a major revelation behind the plate, showing decent power with 14 home runs and a clean .337 OBP.

The glaring bottleneck rests with Austin Riley. The star third baseman is mired in a severe mid-season slump, batting just .209 with a meager .338 slugging percentage and 95 strikeouts across 296 at-bats.

Additionally, Ronald Acuña Jr. is showing excellent plate discipline (.373 OBP) but has seen his power metrics regress, hitting only seven home runs over 53 games.

If the Braves’ offense is going to wake up, Riley and Acuna must get back to their full potential.

Best World Series Longshot Bets

There are two longshots worth a look at as the best World Series picks. Although the odds are stacked against them, two teams have prices that offer tremendous value:

  1. 1. Chicago Cubs (+2800)

The Cubs are emerging as one of the sharpest value plays in the World Series futures market. Heading into July at 47–38, Chicago actively commands a firm grip on a NL Wild Card spot while trailing the Brewers by 5.5 games in the NL Central.

Backed by a phenomenal 79.7% analytical chance to make the postseason, this roster possesses the blueprint built to outlast deep teams in October.

Chicago currently leads all of MLB in walks drawn (377) and ranks second in stolen bases (59), using constant base traffic to rank fifth in team OBP (.336) and sixth in total runs scored (416). The primary catalyst is 24-year-old centerpiece Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Building seamlessly on his 31-homer breakout campaign, PCA is officially flirting with the NL MVP discussion. He is slashing an excellent .284 average with 17 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases, boasting an elite .881 OPS over 320 at-bats.

While the team’s 4.21 ERA ranks 17th, their identical 47–38 Pythagorean run-differential proof shows their winning formula can be sustainable. If Shota Imanaga and Matt Boyd can find better consistency after the All-Star break, the Cubs are in business.

At +2800, the market is severely underpricing the Cubs, so they make for one of the best World Series betting picks.

  2. 2. Tampa Bay Rays (+2700)

The Rays remain one of the most compelling futures World Series best bets on the board. Navigating the turn of July at 48-33, Tampa Bay holds a narrow 1.5-game lead over the Yankees in a fierce AL East divisional race. Built entirely on an incredibly high-floor run differential, the Rays hold a commanding 93.6% chance to secure a postseason spot.

The roster continues to maximize its classic run-prevention blueprint. The pitching staff features a premier foundational pairing. The fully healthy Shane McClanahan anchors the top alongside Drew Rasmussen (team-leading 94 strikeouts), giving the Rays a highly dangerous 1-2 punch for October.

As a team, the Rays have been producing efficiently. They’re second in batting average (.259), fourth in OBP (.336), eighth in ERA (3.78), and first in saves (32).

Young power is available alongside veteran elite discipline. 22-year-old superstar Junior Caminero has exploded into the elite tier, anchoring the middle of the order with 22 home runs and a .292 average. He is complemented perfectly by Yandy Díaz, with a magnificent .336 batting average and a staggering .416 OBP.

So, the Rays present formidable value to win the World Series at +2800.

2026 World Series Predictions and Betting Pick

There is no indication that the Dodgers are ready to be bumped off their pedestal this season. Heading into July, Los Angeles owns the best record in baseball at 55-30, commanding a massive 10-game lead in the NL West.

By their standards, last year’s title run was forged through regular season turbulence, but when the biggest moments arrived, they delivered.

Now, they look even stronger. The off-season addition of Tucker to an already stacked core gives the top half of this lineup an unfair, almost video-game-like roster. The key for the Dodgers is their unmatched depth.

The Dodgers are currently navigating a crowded injury report, with Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and catcher Will Smith all sidelined on the Injured List. Yet, they are able to navigate through these injuries while leading baseball.

The market has adjusted accordingly, with their World Series odds shrinking from +210 down to +190. Although a +190 futures ticket doesn’t yield a huge price, they remain the class of Major League Baseball. As it stands, another club hasn’t made a large enough leap over the last year to compete.
