Andreeva has rolled through the French Open as the #8 seed, dropping just one set in the tournament back in the second round. She has been particularly dominant in the later rounds, and the Russian was terrific against Marta Kostyuk.
Andreeva won 65.8% of her first-serve points against Kostyuk, who 57.7%. But Andreeva really shone on second serve, where she won 57.1% of her points to 34.4% for her rival. Andreeva also won 53.8% of the total return points.
The 19-year-old is good on clay with exceptional movement and energy, and she has a great two-hand backhand. Chwalinska is playing with house money as she enters the French Open final ranked 113th in the world. She has had to gut out her last two matches, going to a tiebreak in both. Chwalinska had four double-faults in her win over Diana Shnaider in the semifinals, but fought those errors off.
The stats were virtually even in the match, but Chwalinska made timely plays and broke Shnaider when she needed to get ahead. The 24-year-old Polish player isn’t powerful, but her play as a lefty is awkward to her opponents, creating angles that makes them uncomfortable and forces them into shots they don’t want to hit. Like Andreeva, Chwalinska can hit a variety of different shots.
Of course, the big knock on Chwalinska is her lack of experience at this level. She made it to the second round at Wimbledon in 2022, and the after qualifying, was eliminated in the first round of the 2025 Australian Open. This has been a great run, but Andreeva is by far the best player that Chwalinska has played against. Does she have one more big match in her?

As great as it would be for Chwalinska to make history, she already has as the first qualifier to make it to the French Open final. However, I think winning is a step too far, and Andreeva has been playing excellent tennis. But at -400, I’ll stay away from her women’s French Open odds.
Instead, I’ll look at the total, which is 19.5. Back the under at -115 as I think Andreeva will figure out Chwalinska’s lefty style quickly, and then go to work. After losing in the final in Madrid to Kostyuk on clay, it’s time for Andreeva to pick up a win on her favored surface, and she’ll do it in short order!
