Week 1 one of Beat the Geek is over, and it was a slow start from the Geek! Our algorithm did deliver on just over 50% of the picks, but 77 players did better to earn an entry in our Grand Prize draw.

Beat the Geek Week 1 Results and Winner
We have a clear winner in Week 1, no tie-breaker needed. “kbcoach” took the top spot for Week 1, going 13-4 to edge a slew of players with a 12-5 record, and take home the $500 weekly prize!
A total of 13 players won 12 games to finish one spot below the leader, while another 16 players finished Week 1 with an 11-6 record. Good job!
A total of 77 players who won 10 or more games receive an entry to the grand prize, which is an NFL trip for two in 2027.
How Did the Geek Do in Week 1?
The Geek didn’t fare as well as many of our players, finishing with a 9-8 record in Week 1. That is still a winning percentage over 50% (52.9%, to be exact). Not an ideal start from the Geek, but still fairly respectable numbers.
Don’t forget that Beat the Geek is not a sprint but a marathon. In fact, it’s more like Tour de France: even a single weekly win is enough for a prize of $500 and an entry for the Grand Prize, so don’t forget to submit your picks regularly.
