Best WNBA Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 24
There are important things to know before betting on the WNBA. Fortunately, if you can’t do your own research, you can see exactly how we arrived at each of our WNBA picks today and the key factors that influenced our analysis.
Golden State Valkyries vs. Minnesota Lynx: Lynx -4.5 (-112)
The Lynx (31-7) are home favorites here, meaning Minnesota is expected to win and must do so by five or more points for this bet to cash. At -112, this is a standard spread play with a clean lean toward the home side. Minnesota comes in healthy outside of Courtney Williams, and with Napheesa Collier and Olivia Miles both confirmed to play, the Lynx have their full offensive firepower available.

Golden State (25-11) heads into this game having lost two straight games, including a brutal 11-point home loss to a shorthanded Minnesota squad just last Wednesday. That result stings for the Valkyries and raises real questions about their ability to compete with a fully healthy Lynx roster. The Valkyries are 4-3 ATS as road underdogs this season, so they aren’t a pushover in this role, but that recent head-to-head result is hard to ignore.
Minnesota is 10-9 ATS at home, which is a modest, but positive, record in this spot. The Lynx are only 8-9 ATS as home favorites, so this isn’t a lock by any means. But the combination of a healthy roster, a dominant performance against this same Valkyries’ team less than a week ago, and Golden State’s current two-game skid makes Minnesota the right side at -4.5 at WNBA betting sites.
Atlanta Dream vs. Los Angeles Sparks: Dream -10.5 (-112)
Atlanta (24-13) rolls into this one with serious momentum. The Dream have won three straight and averaged 106.7 points per game during that stretch. That’s an offense clicking on all cylinders. When a team is scoring at that clip, covering a double-digit spread against a struggling defense becomes a very realistic ask.

The Sparks (13-24) are in rough shape right now. Los Angeles has dropped six of their last seven games and owns the second-worst defense in the league. As a home underdog, they’ve covered the spread just four times in ten tries. That’s a 40% cover rate, which tells you the Sparks don’t just lose, they tend to lose big.
Atlanta’s ATS record on the road sits at 8-9, which is perfectly respectable. More importantly, the matchup sets up beautifully. A high-powered offense on a hot streak against a defense that can’t stop anyone? The Dream don’t just win this game, but they win it comfortably.
