UFC 330 Odds and Predictions – Can Machado Garry Stop Makhachev’s Reign?

• Islam Makhachev (-345)
• Ian Machado Garry (+275)

Makhachev (28-1) has been largely dominant during his time in the UFC on his way to winning the lightweight and welterweight titles. He vacated the lightweight title after four defenses in January 2025, then routed Jack Della Maddelena to win the 170-pound strap in November 2025. Makhachev is a grappler, but he’s a better striker than his childhood friend and coach, UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, ever was. He uses his striking to get in close and aim for a takedown, and Makhachev is also a strong submission artists with 13 of those wins to his name.

Machado Garry (17-1) has a rate of 80% when it comes to takedown defense, which is going to be tested against the champ. “The Future” is a judo artist who uses his 74-inch reach to keep his opponents at bay, which means Makhachev has to work to get inside on him. Machado has some grappling chops, but his best chance in this title clash will be to keep it standing.

I think Machado Garry will be a tough test for Makhachev, but the champion didn’t show any ill effects of moving up from 155 pounds to 170 pounds. I don’t think Makhachev will be bothered by Machado Garry’s reach advantage, and when he gets the challenger down, the Irishman will find it very difficult to get back to his feet. The UFC 330 odds of -345 is a little too steep for me to lay a wager. But Makhachev to win on points is +130, and that could be the best prop you’ll get on this fight. Anything Makhachev-related at plus money is a good bet.

• Mackenzie Dern (-235)
• Gillian Robertson (+193)

Dern (16-5) won the women’s strawweight championship over Virna Jandiroba in October 2025, after it was vacated by Zhang Weili, who moved up to flyweight. She is a world-class grappler, and she prefers to draw opponents into brawling matches on the feet, so Dern can grab a hold of them and take it to the mat. The Arizona native can submit you from the top or the bottom, and has eight submission wins to her credit.

Robertson (17-8) has won five in a row, and this is her first shot at a title in any promotions. “The Savage”, like Dern, is also a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and while she isn’t at Dern’s level, Robertson can definitely hold her own on the mat. The Canadian is a more patient striker than the champion, but Robertson will hammer her opponents when she gets them to the mat.

It will be very interesting to see how this fight plays out. Robertson won’t be afraid to go to ground with Dern, who will try to cause chaos in the scrambles. I also don’t think Dern looked great against Jandiroba, and Robertson is better than Jandiroba.

I’m happy to take a swing on Robertson’s UFC 330 odds of +193 as I believe she has enough paths to victory to eke out a close decision against Dern and take the belt. The prices seem like they’re going more towards the challenger, so put your bet down on Robertson sooner than later!

• Vicente Luque (+123)
• Tresean Gore (-142)

This middleweight tilt is on the preliminary card, but I’m going to go where the value is! Luque (24-12-1) is a veteran who is 3-5 in his last eight fights, but he looked terrific in submitting fellow vet Kelvin Gastelum in April 2026. It should be noted that Luque has largely fought at 170 pounds in his career, but it’s not uncommon for a fighter to move up as they get older to avoid tough weight cuts. “The Silent Assassin” has leaned more into his submission game lately, but Luque will still stand in the pocket and trade with the opposition.

Gore (6-4) has been inconsistent throughout his career, and I struggle to figure out why he’s the favorite here. He has four submission wins, but he has also been knocked out twice. “Mr. Vicious” does have power in his strikes, and he will have the size advantage as Gore is a natural middleweight. But it’s rare that Gore puts it all together in a single night, despite having a lot going for him.

If Gore is going to win this fight, he has to do it early. The longer it goes, the better it is for Luque, who has 37 pro fights and has seen it all throughout his career. Give me Luque’s UFC 330 odds at +123 in this spot as I think he should be the favorite instead of Gore.
