Women’s French Open 2024 Odds: Is Swiatek Unstoppable?

Women’s French Open 2024 Odds: Is Swiatek Unstoppable?

The women’s French Open odds are live and ready for your wagers at the best tennis sportsbooks online! As some of the younger players continue to vastly improve, the women’s singles tournament will bring a lot of questions.

And yet, Polish star Iga Swiatek is a major favorite for a third consecutive title and fourth in five years on the clay courts at Roland Garros. She’s made a name for herself as the best clay player on the WTA Tour, but Aryna Sabalenka is typically a threat in majors.

Can anyone stop Swiatek in Paris? Let’s examine the latest odds, the best sleepers, and my top women’s French Open 2024 predictions below.

Women’s French Open 2024 Betting Odds

The following WTA French Open odds are courtesy of Bovada:

Iga Swiatek+100
Aryna Sabalenka+550
Coco Gauff+900
Elena Rybakina+900
Mirra Andreeva+1800
Ons Jabeur+2500
Elina Svitolina+3300
Qinwen Zheng+3300

Iga Swiatek (+100) is heavily favored to win the French Open 2024. The reigning champion has a 50% implied chance to win her second straight Roland Garros title as the betting favorite!

It’s funny how the tables have turned after years of chaos in the women’s singles. We now have a dominant champion, while the men’s Roland Garros odds suggest a very competitive tournament.

There isn’t another player within Swiatek’s territory, as Sabalenka has the next shortest price at +550. Following her, the women’s French Open 2024 odds trickle down to Coco Gauff and Elena Rybakina at +900.

You can find odds on plenty of other players at Bovada, in case you’re looking to back a longshot.

Women’s French Open 2024 Top Favorites

The top favorites for the WTA French Open are on a short list of two players. You could certainly make the argument that there is only one favorite with Swiatek.

However, Sabalenka has to be considered a top contender after winning the Australian Open in January. Let’s dive into a full analysis of Swiatek and Sabalenka and evaluate why they are rated so highly by the best sports betting sites.

Iga Swiatek (+100)

Swiatek is making a name for herself on clay courts and resembles an early Rafael Nadal, the best clay player of all time on the men’s side. Despite being only 22 years old, Swiatek is already on track to being the best women’s clay surface player in the Open era.

The No. 1 ranked player on the WTA Tour has a cumulative record of 63-8 in clay matches since starting her professional tennis career in 20191. She hasn’t lost more than one match on a clay court in a year since her rookie season!

Over the last three years, Swiatek has posted a record of 39-3 in clay matches. She can win anywhere, including on a hard and grass court, but she is well ahead of the rest of the women in the WTA Tour on red courts.

From 2022 to 2023, Swiatek has lost just 10 sets while winning 72! Overall, the Polish prodigy went 67-11 last year and is 20-4 this season. She grabbed titles in the Qatar Open and Indian Wells Open on hard courts.

At the French Open 2023, Swiatek didn’t lose a set before beating Karolína Muchová in three sets in the final match. The champion may face more resistance this season, but she’s healthy and prepared, which doesn’t bode well for the rest of the women’s field.

Three of the four Grand Slam championships she’s won in her career have been at the French Open. There is a strong chance that Swiatek will build on her legacy as a clay specialist this year.

Aryna Sabalenka (+550)

Sabalenka is the undisputed No. 2 player in the WTA Tour rankings2, even Gauff is catching up could surpass her in the next two years. For now, the Swiatek and Sabalenka rivalry is the only main competition on the women’s side.

The 25-year-old Belarusian won the second major championship of her career this past January. She jumped to the top of the WTA rankings before Swiatek responded with two tournament victories to reclaim the first place.

Both of Sabalenka’s Grand Slam titles have been in the Australian Open, though. She has yet to win a French Open title and her best achievement in Paris is the semifinals appearance last year.

Sabalenka ultimately fell to Muchova in three sets and came short of setting up a showdown with Swiatek in the final. She makes the most of her money on hard courts, where she is becoming one of the most feared players in the game.

However, since 2022, Sabalenka owns a record of 18-8 in 18 clay tournaments3. She’s won 39 sets and lost 23 during that time. In her latest attempt, Sabalenka came up short with a 6-3, 3-6, 5-7 loss to Markéta Vondroušová in the Stuttgart Open.

Swiatek has defeated Sabalenka in six of nine matches4 and most definitely has the advantage on clay courts. Additionally, Swiatek has won 15 sets to Sabalenka’s seven, so if it comes down to these two, the native of Poland will likely have the upper hand.

Women’s French Open 2024 Sleepers

My WTA French Open predictions include three dark horses worth making small plays on. While their odds suggest it will be an uphill battle in Paris, there is strong betting value on the board for these players.

  1. Andreeva might be only 16 years old, but the Russian star will have her breakout moment sooner rather than later. She is already beating top-rated women’s players on the WTA Tour. Andreeva blew away Ons Jabeur for a 6-0 6-2 win in the Australian Open.

  2. The 29-year-old Ukrainian is regarded as one of the better clay court players on the WTA Tour. She doesn’t compare to Swiatek’s status, but this is her best surface. Since 2020, Svitolina has posted a mark of 26-9 in clay competitions.

  3. Zheng made her presence known early in her career at this year’s Australian Open. The 21-year-old surged to the final match before Sabalenka surpassed her in straight sets.

She was in strong form in the Dubai Tennis Championships in February, too, but couldn’t curtail Swiatek. With confidence from her Grand Slam finals appearance in Australia, Zheng might have some magic left for Paris.

Women’s French Open 2024 Predictions and Betting Pick

For your women’s French Open tennis betting strategy, I suggest backing Swiatek. Betting on an even odds favorite to win a tournament is often questionable, but the Polish star is on another level on clay courts.

The comparison to Nadal’s clinic against the competition on clay courts is fair! If Swiatek is healthy and anywhere near her best, she’s unbeatable.

The world number 1 is well on track to break Chris Evert’s WTA record-breaking seven women’s French Open titles if she remains injury-free and doesn’t retire early. She may not be as meticulous on hard and grass courts, but Swiatek is built to dominate Roland Garros.

Swiatek winning at even odds or plus money is a solid bet, so I recommend giving her strong consideration to win the French Open 2024.
