Artificial Intelligence (AI) remains the top betting favorite to be named the Time Person of the Year in 2025. According to BetUS, AI has a 55.6% implied chance to win at -125, while BetOnline has AI listed at +150, or a 40% chance.

Regardless of the sportsbook, the best entertainment betting sites all have AI listed as the favorite to win. It’s worth noting that staunch advocate for AI, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang, has watched his odds to win Time Person of the Year skyrocket.

Huang wasn’t even an option on the board until recently, but he has the second-shortest price at BetUS (+200) and third at BetOnline (+500). With money pouring in on Huang, Pope Leo XIV’s and Donald Trump’s odds have slipped slightly.

Time Person of the Year 2025 Favorites

Before making my Time’s Person of the Year predictions, let’s break down the top favorites and analyze their chances for the big announcement:

Artificial Intelligence (-125 at BetUS, +130 at BetOnline)

It’s very difficult to go a day without interacting with or hearing about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in some capacity or another. AI has manifested itself in society at a record pace and isn’t going anywhere.

Similar to when the internet was introduced in the 1980s, AI is a cultural and technological phenomenon that immediately had a ripple effect on society. As AI continues to mature, it will undoubtedly be a driving force for the way people live daily.

It’s important to note that AI is much more than simply ChatGPT, Gemini, and the variety of other AI chatbots. AI is involved in most industries now, including healthcare, automotive, marketing, and even AI sports picks!

As the betting favorite, AI is the most likely winner of the 2025 Time Person of the Year. Note that it was among the favorites when the Time’s Person of the Year betting odds opened initially for last year. However, it fell off and ultimately finished as the ninth-likeliest choice.

AI’s Influence in 2025

AI largely took center stage when ChatGPT was introduced in November 2022. It had been working behind the scenes in some pieces of software previously, but didn’t feel as influential before the launch of ChatGPT.

In 2025, AI is deeply entrenched in everyday use. Whether it’s behind the scenes or readily available, AI has likely played a role at least once during your day. For instance, car manufacturers have fully embraced AI in 2025.

Along with being integrated into the engineering and development process of vehicles, AI is involved when driving, including voice commands and sensors that inhibit self-driving technology.

However, perhaps the biggest impact has been the proliferation of AI-generated videos and photos. Whether for good, bad, comedy, or work, AI is at the forefront in video making.

Additionally, AI music has taken on a prominent role. In July, a rock band, which has generated over a million monthly Spotify listeners, was revealed as an AI band!

To demonstrate the proliferation of AI this year, the U.S. now has over 4,000 AI data centers throughout the country. These data centers include three different types: hyperscale, enterprise, and colocation centers. Currently, Virginia has the largest number of AI databases with 643.

Databases generate roughly 183 terawatts of electricity, but that number is expected to skyrocket to 426 in 2030! The footprint that AI left in 2025 will be felt for years and decades to come in the future.

Jensen Huang (+200 at BetUS, +500 at BetOnline)

Nvidia’s founder and CEO has seen his odds to be named Time’s Person of the Year soar in recent weeks. Previously considered a long shot for the award, Jensen Huang is now one of the leading candidates to grace the magazine’s cover.

Huang established Nvidia in April 1993 and has since become a pioneer in the field of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Nvidia’s technology has powered computers around the globe across a variety of applications, from gaming to professional workspaces.

Today, Nvidia leads advancements in autonomous vehicles and AI technology. Under Huang’s leadership, the company is competing with industry giants such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. He remains a vocal supporter of AI use cases and has made a significant impact in the sector in 2025.

Huang’s Influence in 2025

With the growing popularity of AI in 2025, Huang has consistently been an outspoken advocate of the technology.

His company, Nvidia, has a financial interest in AI’s continued growth. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into society, Nvidia stands to gain significantly, which explains Huang’s strong support.

Recently, Huang criticized Nvidia managers for discouraging employee use of AI. Instead, he is promoting widespread AI adoption among his team and encourages employees to use AI whenever possible. He noted that software engineers are already leveraging AI coding assistants like Cursor to help write code.

“I want every task that is possible to be automated with artificial intelligence to be automated with artificial intelligence,” Huang said. “I promise you, you will have work to do.”

With AI adoption as a top priority at Nvidia, Huang remains a central figure in the technology’s advancement. If you want to put a face to AI, Huang is among its most prominent personalities. Although Nvidia is best known for its computer chips, it is steadily building its reputation as an AI juggernaut.

Additionally, Nvidia’s stock performance has attracted significant attention. As a leader in the tech market, Nvidia’s valuation is an important indicator. Over the past year, Nvidia (NVDA) shares have risen more than 30%, and an astounding 1,241% over five years!

Donald Trump (+300 at BetUS, +300 at BetOnline)

After winning his second term in the White House in 2024, President Trump was named the 2024 Time Person of the Year. Similar to his first term, Trump has stayed in the news cycle nonstop since taking office in January.

If it feels like he is out of the spotlight for a minute, the polarizing president often finds a way to become the top news story. The Time’s Person of the Year goes to a figure or entity who has dominated the media game, so by that criterion (this isn’t an award based on accomplishments), Trump may win in back-to-back years!

Eight presidents have won Time’s Person of the Year twice, but only one in consecutive years. That honor belongs to Richard Nixon in 1971 and 1972. He and Joseph Stalin are the only repeat winners, though Franklin Roosevelt came close, as he was named the recipient in 1932 and 1934.

Donald Trump’s Influence in 2025

Trump’s influence this year has been undeniable. Whether you like him or not, he is the focal point of American society in 2025. Trump’s policies have often been controversial, including a hardline stance on immigration, which has prompted widespread arrests and raids throughout the country.

Moreover, Trump is a primary player in the war in Ukraine and the Middle East. He has also brought attention to himself for the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files recently.

Previously, the Trump administration ruled that there wasn’t a client list and the case was effectively closed. However, under pressure from the public, the House and Senate passed a bill in November for the release of the Epstein files by the FBI.

Additionally, Trump has been in the headlines for attempting to strike an agreement between Ukraine and Russia to end the war. Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, and then shortly thereafter, invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders to the White House for a high-stakes meeting.

He was also in the midst of working out a ceasefire deal between Palestine and Israel. In a rare show of support from the Democrats, Trump’s opponents applauded his efforts to end the war. He was adamant about winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his work, but it ultimately went to Venezuela’s Maria Corina Machado.

If that isn’t enough, Trump’s tariff strategy has had a major influence not only in the United States but also around the world. Whether it’s tariffs or another issue, Trump will continue to influence life in one way or another.

That gives Trump a big chance to repeat as Time’s Person of the Year, but is there some fatigue among voters?

Dark Horses for Time Person of the Year 2025

There appears to be a race between three contenders, but it’s wise to add a couple of long shots for your Time Person of the Year betting picks. Check out our top dark horse predictions below:

  1. 1. Kate Middleton (+1800)

Princess Kate Middleton’s health concerns have been a significant focus in 2025. Last year, Middleton announced that she was diagnosed with cancer. In January, she revealed that she is in remission from cancer.

A regular at the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club’s grandest event, the Princess of Wales recently made her return to Wimbledon after missing the tournament due to her cancer treatments.

Throughout 2025, Middleton is a key advocate for mental and physical health. Primarily, her role has consisted of speaking up for children’s mental health initiatives. She has spoken regularly about the importance of addressing mental health among children.

Ultimately, overcoming cancer and being an important advocate in the community should play well at Time’s Magazine. While she may not be in the news as much as Trump, her impact has been pronounced.

  2. 2. Jeff Bezos (+2500)

Jeff Bezos was named Time’s Person of the Year way back in 1999 for his work on founding Amazon. It truly was well-deserved back then, as Amazon was revolutionary and continues to play a huge role in society today.

In 2025, Bezos is still the head of Amazon and has been in the news throughout the year. First, Bezos’ Blue Origin flight, which caters to bringing regular citizens to the edge of space, has reached key milestones.

The all-women crew launch, including Katy Perry and his now wife Lauren Sánchez, made headlines both positively and negatively. Additionally, in January, Blue Origin’s New Glenn blasted off to mark a huge accomplishment. Bezos has also been dipping his toes into the AI space, and recently founded a startup called Project Prometheus with himself as the CEO.

Lastly, Bezos’ much-discussed $50 million wedding in Venice put him back in the spotlight. At +2500, the betting odds for Time’s Person of the Year don’t signify much confidence, but he’s worth a small play at a generous price.

Time Person of the Year 2025 Predictions and Betting Pick

AI is currently the betting favorite to win Time Person of the Year, but if you want to wager on a driving force in the industry, I suggest considering Huang. He and Nvidia are directly involved in the advancement of AI and currently hold an advantage over their competitors.

Will this lead last? That remains to be seen, but no company has had a bigger impact on AI in 2025 than Nvidia. The battle for AI supremacy will unfold in the coming years. However, as we approach 2026, it looks like Huang will finish on top.

The odds shift for Huang is also notable. He wasn’t even a candidate at first, but now he’s among the top favorites. This dramatic movement reflects growing confidence among oddsmakers and informed bettors in Huang’s chances.

In short, Huang is my top pick for Time Person of the Year betting!
