Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Pittsburgh (2-1) and Cleveland’s (2-1) annual early-season Thursday Night Football matchup has higher stakes than usual this year. Both teams are 2-1, and the winner will be at least half a game ahead of every other team in a tight AFC North race.

The Steelers are 2.5-point road favorites ahead of TNF this week. Cleveland is available at +127 on the moneyline.

Deshaun Watson and company looked terrible in Week 1, but have reeled off back-to-back wins, and the Browns defense has played much better. Cleveland has surrendered 23.4 PPG this year, but nearly half of their 71 points allowed came in their 34-10 loss to Jacksonville.

Since then, the Browns have held both the Buccaneers (19) and the Panthers (18) to fewer than 20 points.

Cleveland’s defense has another great opportunity this week against a struggling Pittsburgh offense. Pittsburgh is averaging 17.7 PPG, the seventh-fewest in the NFL. The Steelers are one of the oldest teams in the league, making the short turnaround for TNF that much harder.

The young Browns’ roster can pull off the upset at home against their division rival this week, so I’m backing Cleveland.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Commanders Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Indianapolis (1-2) and Washington (1-2) secured their first wins of the season in Week 3. The Commanders were especially impressive, as they beat Seattle despite starting backup QB Marcus Mariota. Washington is looking for another upset this week as the Commanders are getting four points against the visiting Colts.

The Colts’ offense runs through Jonathan Taylor, and this game will come down to whether Washington can stop the run.

JT is sixth in the NFL with 258 rushing yards through three games. Taylor is tied with Derrick Henry and Bijan Robinson for the most rush attempts with 66 so far. He also scored four times on the ground this year, tied for the third-most.

Washington held Seattle to 44 rushing yards on 18 attempts (2.4 YPC) and allowed only one rush of over 10 yards. They have allowed just 82 rushing YPG, the third-fewest in the NFL. If they slow down JT, Mariota can lead the Commanders to another upset win this weekend.

New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Buffalo (3-0)  turned the ball over five times last week, but Josh Allen and company found a way to beat the Chargers and keep their undefeated season alive. The Bills face another interesting test at home this week with the Patriots (1-2) coming to town.

New England has started this season slowly. They are 1-2 and tied with the Dolphins for the fewest points scored this season (12 PPG). The Patriots started 1-2 last year, too, before winning 10 straight games, including a win over the Bills in Buffalo.

Drake Maye has to play better if he wants to lead the Pats to another upset win over the Bills in Buffalo. Maye and co. are currently 7-point underdogs for Sunday’s matchup.

The Patriots were able to slow down Josh Allen in six of the eight quarters they played against him last year. If they can repeat that performance, New England has a chance to cover. However, the Pats cannot win if they are held to 20 or fewer points again this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Bengals’ (2-1) defense started strong, giving up just 16.5 PPG over their first two games. That changed last week in Pittsburgh, where Cincinnati lost 30-27 to the Steelers.

Cincy is laying three points this week against the visiting Jaguars (2-1). Jacksonville is averaging 27.3 PPG, the 10th-most in the league, and has scored 30+ points in both of its wins this year. When these teams played in Week 2 last year, the Bengals escaped with a 31-27 win at home.

Jacksonville’s offense has been great at home, but they struggled in their one road game so far this season. On the bright side, the Jaguars’ defense is allowing only 12 PPG, the fewest in the league.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jags’ offense should have an easier time moving the ball against Cincy than it did against Denver. With that in mind, Jacksonville is a live dog this weekend against the Bengals in the Jungle.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Houston Texans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Cowboys (1-2) and the Texans (0-3) are both desperate for a win ahead of their matchup in Houston this weekend. Dallas lost in a thriller in Rio last week after the defense allowed the Ravens to move into field goal range in just seven seconds.

Houston, on the other hand, had a chance to pull off a last-second field goal drive. However, the game ended on back-to-back incompletions by CJ Stroud.

Despite being 0-3, the Texans are 3-point home favorites over the visiting Cowboys. The Houston defense must play better if it wants to slow down the high-powered Dallas offense. Dak Prescott has led the Cowboys to an average of 29.3 PPG over three games, ranking seventh in the NFL.

DeMeco Ryans’ defense has allowed 25 PPG this year. For comparison, Houston only allowed 17.4 PPG last year, the second-fewest in the league.

Houston will have a tough time keeping up with Dallas if WR Nico Collins misses another game with his hamstring injury. Collins did practice on Friday, however. Dallas is the best bet to win if Collins is out in Week 4. Even if Collins plays, the Cowboys’ high-powered offense is a great bet to cover.

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Giants (2-1) are getting 2.5 points against the visiting Cardinals (1-2) in Week 4. New York is coming off a win over the Titans and is undefeated at home so far this season.

Backup QB Jameis Winston led the Giants to a win in his first start of the season, but it was not a pretty one. Winston completed 14 of 22 attempts for just 118 yards in the team’s 12-7 win. RB Cam Skattebo led the team with 40 receiving yards.

Skattebo also led the Giants with 60 rushing yards on 20 attempts (3 YPC) as the Giants racked up 138 combined yards on the ground in the win. New York should lean heavily on Skattebo again this week against a Cardinals’ defense that has allowed 127.7 rushing YPG, the seventh-most in the NFL.

Arizona is a tough out for a beat-up Giants’ team. In addition to missing QB Jaxson Dart, New York will also be without star pass rusher Brian Burns, who tore his ACL in the win over Tennessee. The Giants’ secondary is also riddled with injuries and will struggle to contain a high-powered Cardinals’ passing attack that has averaged 267.9 passing yards per game in Jacoby Brissett’s 15 starts.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Kansas City (3-0) and Las Vegas (3-0) are both undefeated ahead of their Week 4 clash. The Chiefs are favored by four points in Sin City, with the winner claiming sole possession of the top spot in the AFC West.

KC has been winning thanks to a surprisingly dominant running game. Kenneth Walker III leads the NFL with 360 yards on the ground through three games. He also leads the NFL with 467 total yards from scrimmage.

Las Vegas held Miami to just 74 rushing yards in Week 1. However, the Raiders allowed 275 total rushing yards against the Chargers and the Saints. All three of Las Vegas’s opponents have averaged 4+ YPC.

It has not been all bad news for the Raiders’ defense, though. They led the NFL with a +5 turnover differential and have forced nine takeaways this year. Las Vegas also has 10 sacks so far, tied for the fourth-most in the league.

The Raiders can keep the game close enough to cover if their defense continues to force turnovers, but the Chiefs should win and improve to 4-0.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Seattle Seahawks Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Chargers (0-3) and the Seahawks (2-1) are both returning from unsuccessful trips to the East Coast. Los Angeles lost 24-16 in Buffalo after forcing five turnovers. Seattle, on the other hand, lost 33-31 to the Commanders thanks to a late pick-six from Sam Darnold.

Seattle is a 7-point favorite at home this week, with the Chargers listed at +275 on the moneyline to get their first win of the season. Both teams played on the East Coast last week, so they should be at similar rest disadvantages this week.

The Seahawks’ offense has scored 31 points in back-to-back games. Prior to last week’s loss, Seattle had only allowed an average of 8.5 PPG. They should return to their shutdown ways against a Chargers’ offense that is averaging the fourth-fewest points in the league, 14.7 PPG.

Darnold should also be sharper this week after an uneven performance against Washington. A sharper Darnold and a stout defense should lead the Seahawks to a bounce-back win on Sunday.

Detroit Lions vs. Carolina Panthers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Detroit (2-1) is a 4-point road favorite against the Panthers (1-2) on Sunday Night Football. Carolina’s Bryce Young leads the NFL in passing yards with 939 (313 YPG) and ranks second in the league with seven passing TDs.

The Panthers have moved the ball through the air, and Young should have another productive day against a Lions’ defense that gives up a league-high 299.3 passing YPG.

However, Lions’ RB Jahmyr Gibbs is also in line for a big day. Carolina has allowed 193.3 rushing YPG, the most in the league through three weeks. Gibbs is second in scrimmage yards (463) and fourth in rushing yards (307) this year.

Gibbs has scored six TDs this season, four rushing and two receiving, tied for the most in the league.

Another strong day from Gibbs will be enough for the Lions to get their first road win of the season. That being said, Detroit’s defense is too porous to lay more than a field goal against an explosive Panthers’ passing attack.

Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

QB Michael Penix Jr.’s return was all it took for the Falcons to blow out the Packers in Lambeau on TNF last week. Now, Penix and the Falcons look for their first division win of the season as they take on the Saints in New Orleans.

Oddsmakers have the Saints (1-2) as 2.5-point home favorites over the Falcons (1-2) on Monday Night Football.

Atlanta has had extra time to prepare for this primetime matchup. Also, as good as the Saints’ offense has been (281.3 passing YPG, 27 PPG), their defense has been equally bad. New Orleans has allowed 27.7 PPG (6th-most) and 128.7 rushing YPG (6th-most).

RB Bijan Robinson took over the game against the Packers, totaling 213 yards. He can easily do that again this week against the Saints and help the Falcons improve to 2-2 while claiming the top spot in the NFC South.

Tennessee Titans vs. Baltimore Ravens Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Tennessee (0-3) is still searching for its first win of the season. The Titans’ next chance at a W will be in Baltimore against the Ravens (2-1), who are fresh off a win in Rio over the Dallas Cowboys.

Baltimore is at a rest disadvantage after their international game last week, but it is still favored by 11.5 points at home this week.

There is very little that Tennessee has done well so far this season. Offensively, the Titans are averaging 249.3 total YPG, the second-fewest in the league. Tennessee has also scored only 37 total points, the third-fewest so far.

The story on defense has not been much better, with Tennessee allowing 126.3 rushing YPG (9th-most). On the bright side, the Titans have only allowed 189 passing YPG, the seventh-fewest in the NFL.

Baltimore is a run-first team, and Derrick Henry should have a monster day on the ground against his former team. Henry is averaging 100.3 rushing YPG and 4.6 YPC this season. However, the Ravens have struggled to cover as double-digit favorites in recent years, so the Titans have a chance to cover on Sunday.

New York Jets vs. Chicago Bears Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Case Keenum led Chicago to an upset win over Philadelphia on MNF in his first start in over 1,000 days. The 38-year-old could be called on again this week as the Bears welcome the Jets to Soldier Field.

Tyson Bagent cleared concussion protocol and is also an option to be the Bears’ starting QB this week.

Even with questions about their starting QB, the Bears are 3.5-point home favorites over New York in Week 4. The Jets are listed as +165 underdogs in the latest NFL moneyline odds. Oddsmakers have the total points set at over/under 43 points.

The Jets have allowed 87.3 rushing YPG this year, the seventh-fewest in the league through three games. New York’s run defense will be tested by a Bears team that leads the league with 184.3 YPG on the ground.

Ben Johnson’s run-heavy offense should wear the Jets’ defense down and lead Chicago to another win this weekend. However, Geno Smith and New York have been very competitive this year despite their 1-2 record. They can keep the game within a field goal and cover the spread.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Rams (1-2) have not lived up to their preseason expectations so far. Injuries have played a major part in LA’s struggles, but WR Puka Nacua should return to action this week. Nacua’s return could take an already explosive Rams’ offense to a new level.

Philadelphia (2-1) has also struggled this year and is coming off a blowout loss to the Bears on MNF. The Eagles are 3.5-point underdogs against the visiting Rams (-195) this weekend.

LA leads the NFL with 417.7 total YPG on offense. Matthew Stafford, the reigning NFL MVP, is third in the league with 290.7 passing YPG, and the Rams are seventh in the NFL with 133.7 rushing YPG.

The latter part is the most concerning issue for the Eagles this weekend. Philly has allowed 127.3 rushing yards per game, the eighth-most in the NFL so far. Regardless of whether Nacua plays (and he is expected to play), the Rams’ two-man rushing attack of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum should be enough to secure a crucial road win for LA.

Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

The Packers (1-2) and Buccaneers (0-3) have both suffered their fair share of disappointments this year. Green Bay is coming off a 35-14 blowout loss to Atlanta on TNF. Tampa Bay, likewise, lost to Minnesota last week and is still winless on the season.

Their loss to the Vikings was especially costly for the Bucs. QB Baker Mayfield dislocated the thumb on his throwing hand and is expected to miss at least three weeks.

With Mayfield out, Tampa Bay will turn to the only other QB currently on its roster, undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels. Daniels went 0-3 and threw an interception in limited action during Sunday’s loss.

A full week to prepare should help Daniels play better, especially against a struggling Packers’ defense that is allowing over 340 total YPG. Green Bay has been susceptible to the run, giving up 138.7 YPG on the ground, the fifth-most in the NFL.

Tampa Bay is only averaging 94.3 rushing YPG, but that should go up this week with Daniels in the lineup. Daniels averaged more than eight rush attempts per game in his collegiate career at KU. An improved running game can help the Bucs secure the upset over the floundering Packers this weekend.

Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Miami (0-3) is one of the biggest underdogs of Week 4 as the Dolphins head to Minnesota to face the Vikings. RB De’Von Achane tore his ACL last week, leaving an already depleted Dolphins’ offense without its best player for the rest of the season.

Given Achane’s injury, it is not surprising that Miami is getting 10 points this weekend against Minnesota.

The Vikings defense has given up 41 points so far this year, the second-fewest in the NFL. Minnesota needs its defense to step up again this week. The Dolphins’ offense is not great, averaging a league-low 12 PPG, but the Vikings will be without WR Justin Jefferson due to an ankle injury.

With or without Jefferson, the Vikings’ dominant defense should lead them to a win. However, if JJettas is not on the field, Minnesota could struggle to cover the 10-point spread.

Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Denver’s (2-1) 30-point second half helped the Broncos knock off the Rams on Sunday Night Football. They face another NFC West team this week as they head to San Francisco (3-0) to play the 49ers.

San Francisco is a 2.5-point favorite at home for this cross-conference matchup. The 49ers have scored 98 points this season, the second-most in the league. Also, they have scored at least 27 points in every game, while holding two of their three opponents to 13 or fewer.

Denver’s offense has been far less consistent. The Broncos have scored 60 total points through three games, but only 10 of those have come in the first half of games.

The 49ers allowed Arizona to score 24 points in the second half last week, so another Broncos’ comeback is not off the table if Denver falls behind early. However, the Broncos’ tackling issues will be their downfall this week.

San Fran is sixth in the NFL with 136.3 rushing YPG. Denver, on the other hand, has allowed 143.7 rushing YPG, the third-most in the NFL. A heavy dose of Christian McCaffrey and rookie Kaelon Black should help the 49ers remain undefeated this week.
