The final will feature the two winners of the semifinals. That will be played on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET. This game will also be in Athens, which will also host the third-place game on Sunday at 10:00 AM ET.
Tenerife vs. Galatasaray Prediction
Tenerife could wrap up the best season in FIBA Champions League history by winning it all! They won all six of their group games, and did the same in their six Round of 16 games. Tenerife then beat Bertram Dethrona 2-0 in the best-of-three quarterfinals, meaning they haven’t lost a game yet!
Galatasaray finished second in their regular-season group, going 4-2. They beat Saint-Quentin 2-1 in a three-leg play-in round, then finished second in their Round of 16 group, before thrashing ERA Nymburk 2-0 in their quarterfinal series.

The two teams haven’t met since 2020, when Tenerife won both games in the regular season. The Spanish side is looking to get back to the final, where they lost 80-75 to Unicaja.
Head coach Txus Vidorreta knows what he is doing as he has taken the team to six Final Fours in eight seasons, winning in 2017 and 2022.
Marcelo Huertas, who played two seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers, leads the team with 16.3 points and 7.4 assists. He is the engine of a very efficient offense that shoots 50.1% from the field, including 40.1% from three-point land.

Will Cummings is the star man for Galatasaray, averaging 16.6 points. The Turkis side can be inconsistent from deep, shooting 36.6% from the field. But keep an eye on Rob Gray, who joined Gala on March 28, and is shooting an incredible 57.1% from beyond the arc!
It’s going to be tough, but I’ll back Tenerife to get through this semifinal. Galatasaray averages 16.3 points off turnovers, but Tenerife only turns the ball over 10.7 times per game. That’s almost four less per matchup than Gala.
The Spaniards are also more consistenty offensively and go into this game full of confidence, so I trust them to make the final.
AEK Athens vs. Unicaja Prediction
Unicaja Malaga are the defending champions, and were undefeated in their regular-season group. They went 5-1 to top their Round of 16 group, and then beat Reggio Emilia 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
AEK Athens came out on top in their regular-season group by point differential, then went 5-1 in their Round of 16 group. They needed three games to beat Nanterre 92, although they clinched the series with a 104-69 rout in Game 3. This will be their first meeting with Unicaja since the Round of 16 in 2024, when Unicaja won both games by an average of 16 points.
Tyson Carter leads Unicaja with 13.3 points per game, although the Spanish team has nine players averaging 8.0 points or more. This team also knows how to win as they’ve been victorious in the Copa de Rey, the Spanish Supercopa, and the Intercontinental Cup this season alone. The most immense obstacle for Ibon Navarro’s team might be fatigue from lifting all those trophies!
AEK Athens is led by Hunter Hale’s 16.1 points per game, but he is one of four players to average double-digits in points for the Greek team. They’re also not a great three-point shooting team as AEK Athens has hit 35.6% of their long-range tries. However, they set a Basketball Champions League record with 14 three-pointers in their quarterfinal clincher against Nanterre. They’re getting hot at the right time!
They’re going to need that shooting to continue because Unicaja is a machine, averaging 94.4 points, the best mark in the BCL. Unicaja is also one of two teams to shoot at least 40% from three-point land at 40.2%, edging out Tenerife at 40.1%. While it is technically a neutral-site game, AEK Athens should have a great home crowd to spur them on!
However, I think Unicaja is just a better basketball team with more ways to win, so I feel obliged to back them. I believe it will be close in the first half of the game, but Unicaja will pull away for the win!
FIBA Basketball Champions League 2025 Winner Prediction and Betting Pick
I expect a predictable rematch in the Basketball Champions League final between Unicaja and Tenerife, but it’s predictable only because these are two excellent basketball teams!
Unicaja won last year’s final 80-75 over Tenerife, led by 17 points from Kendrick Perry, who was named MVP of the Final Four! The runners-up got 18 points from Kyle Guy, who is now a coach at Nevada and played parts of three seasons with Sacramento and Miami.
Tenerife doesn’t have Guy anymore, but Huertas has filled that void. Still, Unicaja looks like the better team. They led the entire final last year for all but 45 seconds at the beginning of the game, and built a lead up to 15 points. Tenerife chipped away and almost pulled it off, but came up just short.
Ultimately, I think Unicaja has more avenues to a victory, and this game might just come down to who shoots the three-ball better. They’re very close in that respect, but I’m taking Unicaja Malaga and their FIBA Champions League Final 4 odds of +110 to win it all for the second straight year!
