Meanwhile, the Liberty (10-3) have lost three of their last four since winning their first nine games of the season. They recently fell 89-79 to Seattle as Breanna Stewart had 18 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. However, the Liberty were missing Sabrina Ionescu due to a neck injury.

It was also announced that Jonquel Jones will miss 4–6 weeks because of an ailing ankle. New York is still second in the league in defensive rating, but they’ve allowed 81 points or more in each of their last four games. They had done that just once heading into this four-game period.

It should be noted that both of these teams are missing players because of the EuroBasket Women’s tournament. But I’m more confident in the Valkyries covering 7.5 points at home as the underdogs with odds of -105! Jones being injured is a considerable loss for New York’s defense, as she is third in rebounds (9.6) and tenth in blocks (1.1).
