2025 ALDS Betting Preview
At the start of the season, how many of you had the Yankees vs. Blue Jays and Tigers vs. Mariners for your ALDS matchups? This wasn’t the most likely series showdowns, but they should be entertaining, nonetheless.
Here, find my 2025 MLB Divisional Series predictions for the ALDS series, and the top picks you should consider at MLB betting sites:
New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays Preview: ALDS Odds and Analysis
-
- Toronto Blue Jays (+130)
- New York Yankees (-150)
The New York Yankees enter Game 1 as the odds-on favorites to beat the Toronto Blue Jays. As a -150 favorite, the Yankees have a 60% implied probability to win despite not having home-field advantage.
The Blue Jays won the AL East after edging out the Yankees on the final day of the regular season. They won four straight games to clinch the top spot in the last second, with no room for error.
Toronto won the regular season series against the Yanks and were therefore granted the tiebreaker with both clubs at 94-68. They were the more dominant team, as their 8-5 record suggests, and it ended up paying off on the final day of the season.
It’s a massive help to the Blue Jays, who were the best team in the American League at home. They finished 54-27 as opposed to the Yankees’ 44-37 record on the road. Note that the Blue Jays recorded the best batting average in baseball at .265.
At the Rogers Centre in Toronto, that number jumps to .271 with a .340 OBP. Additionally, the Blue Jays hit 104 home runs at home, with 87 long balls on the road. While Toronto doesn’t have Aaron Judge, they do have George Springer, who has been incredibly clutch.
George Springer’s massive bounce-back season has helped catapult the @BlueJays to the top of the American League:

Springer had an outstanding regular season with a .309 batting average, 32 home runs, and 84 RBIs. Whenever the Jays have needed a big hit, he has delivered. Expect Springer to be a catalyst in a big spot for the Blue Jays.
Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners Preview: ALDS Odds and Analysis
-
- Detroit Tigers (+153)
- Seattle Mariners (-175)
After blowing a 15.5-game lead and the AL Central, the Tigers managed to clinch a playoff berth at the wire and then win on the road in the AL Wild Card against the Cleveland Guardians. However, the latest MLB Divisional Series odds don’t have them going any further.
The Seattle Mariners are the largest favorites to advance to the next round. At -175, the Mariners have a 63.6% implied probability to beat the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS. The Mariners have snuck up on some people and are who I regard as the most underrated in the postseason.
Dan Wilson’s club went 90-72 and held a three-game advantage over the Houston Astros. They finished 51-30, with the second-best home record in the American League. T-Mobile Park isn’t an easy place to win at, and the Mariners have the weapons to defend their home ground.
The Mariners have a deep starting rotation that is more consistent than the Tigers. While the Tigers can rely on Tarik Skubal every outing, you can’t say the same for the rest. Jack Flaherty was fantastic in Game 3 of the Wild Card, but you can’t rely on him and Casey Mize to consistently deliver.
However, the Mariners’ Luis Castillo (3.54 ERA), George Kirby (4.21 ERA), and Logan Gilbert (3.44 ERA) are an outstanding trio. Kirby had a couple of rocky starters but has otherwise been in top form recently.

— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) September 25, 2025
With Cal Raleigh leading the league in homers with 60, the Mariners were third in MLB in home runs this season. The Mariners’ 238 long balls easily cleared the Tigers’ 198 deep bombs. Raleigh could be the difference in this series, as the Tigers don’t have a true difference-maker in the batter’s box like him.
2025 NLDS Betting Preview
The NLDS has two thrilling series that are must-watch matchups this season. For the first time ever, NL Central rivals will meet in the postseason, while the Dodgers and Phillies are what many fans regard as the best in the Majors.
Let’s dive into my 2025 NLDS analysis, before I share my predictions.
Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers Preview: NLDS Odds and Analysis
-
- Chicago Cubs (+105)
- Milwaukee Brewers (-125)
The odds for the NLDS between the Cubs and Brewers indicate we are likely to have a competitive series. The Brewers have a 55.6% implied probability to win and go to the NLCS.
They caught fire after the All-Star break and ripped off two winning streaks of at least 10 games in July and then again in August. In mid-August, the Brewers set a franchise record 14-game win streak.
Did the Brewers peak much too early, though? In September, the Brewers went just 12-12, and they lost plenty of their momentum. They were barely mentioned in the final month of the regular season. Additionally, the Cubs were one of the rare clubs that had a winning record against the Brewers at 7-6.
They concluded the season with a record of 4-6 in their final 10 games but managed to hold on for the best record in the National League at 97-65. The Cubs weren’t the hottest to finish the season, either, but they are coming off a huge Game 3 victory over the San Diego Padres.
Momentum and confidence will be sky-high for the Cubs in the NLDS. The Brewers have superior pitching on paper, but the Cubs are more well-balanced offensively and on the mound. The Cubs have a top 10 offense, third with 771 RBIs, while the pitching is ninth with a 3.79 ERA.

Milwaukee is just 22nd with 166 home runs in the regular season. Conversely, the Cubs are sixth in home runs with 223. The Cubs have six hitters with a minimum of 22 home runs. Three went deep in the Wild Card against the Padres, including Michael Busch, Carson Kelly, and Seiya Suzuki.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies Preview: NLDS Odds and Analysis
-
- Philadelphia Phillies (+102)
- LA Dodgers (-122)
In a series that is most likely to get the highest viewership, the Dodgers and Phillies square off in a heavyweight matchup in the NLDS. The Dodgers are favored with odds of -122 and a 55% implied chance. Note that this is the lowest probability of any team in the divisional round.
The Dodgers didn’t have a picture-perfect regular season campaign. In fact, it was well below expectations of what most pundits projected. The defending World Series champs wrapped up the regular season with a 93-69 mark. For most teams, that would be fantastic, but the Dodgers never looked unstoppable.
That was in large part due to injuries, with multiple players in and out of the lineup and the pitching staff. Chemistry was a major problem throughout the year, but they have found their stride now. After going 8-2 in their final 10 regular-season matchups, the Dodgers swept the Reds in blowouts of 8-4 and 10-5.
The team is much healthier than it was earlier in the season, and they are playing with purpose and confidence now. Despite being the only team to avoid a third game, the Dodgers led the Wild Card with five home runs and 17 RBIs! The Dodgers are back.

Additionally, despite the regular season woes, the Dodgers were first in the National League in home runs and RBIs. While the Phillies have Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, they finished fourth in the National League in RBIs and fifth in home runs. Aside from Schwarber, the power bats were fairly inconsistent.
MLB Division Series 2025 Best Bets
Based on the latest 2025 MLB Divisional Series odds and analysis, let’s wrap up with my ALCS and NLCS best bets:
ALDS Predictions and Betting Picks
The Yankees are going to be one of the most heavily bet teams in the ALDS. However, the Blue Jays thrive at the Rogers Centre, and I wouldn’t want to pass on them at +130. They are a team playing with a ton of team chemistry and confidence.
That accounts for a lot this time of year, and at juicy plus odds, the Blue Jays have a plethora of value. This is more of a toss-up than the odds suggest, so I recommend siding with the Blue Jays for your 2025 ALDS predictions!
Meanwhile, the Mariners appear to be the top pick against the Tigers in the second ALDS matchup. I applaud the Tigers for making it this far after it looked like things completely collapsed, but the Mariners have Raleigh and more balance on their roster.
For one of our best MLB Divisional Series predictions, the Mariners look like they’ll oust the pesky Tigers. So, consider backing the Blue Jays and Mariners in the ALDS.
NLDS Predictions and Betting Picks
The Cubs were one of the only teams in the Majors to record more wins than losses against the Brewers this season. Even when the Brewers were on fire, the Cubs gave them everything they could handle.
I am concerned with the Brewers having reached their best form too early this season. With a dangerous pitching staff and some solid hitters, this is still a very good club that is World Series worthy. That being said, the value is on the Cubs after an impressive Game 3 over the Padres at Wrigley.
I’ll side with the Cubs for my NLDS 2025 predictions at plus odds in a series that could go the distance.
I also expect a tight series between the Dodgers and Phillies, too. The Dodgers should ultimately prevail as they are playing their best baseball in 2025.
I feel like the Dodgers have peaked at the perfect time and are in top form now. With the postseason underway, these games have their attention. In short, the Dodgers are a sharp play to advance to the NLCS for your MLB Divisional Series 2025 predictions!
