There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:
Samsung Lions vs. KIA Tigers: Tigers (-135)
The KIA Tigers are my pick to win Game 3 against the Samsung Lions as this Korean Series shifts to Gwangju tied at 1-1. KIA sends Shirakawa Keisho to the mound, and his recent postseason performance gives me confidence he can deliver another strong outing in front of the home crowd.
Shirakawa finished the regular season with a 4.75 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP across 18 appearances. While those numbers aren’t spectacular, he’s shown encouraging progress and delivered when it mattered most.
In his postseason debut against the LG Twins on October 20, he allowed just one earned run over five innings while striking out nine batters. He also posted a 3.68 ERA across three regular-season starts against Samsung, with a favorable matchup on paper.

Choi Won-tae counters for Samsung after recording a 4.68 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP during the regular season. His history against KIA is particularly concerning, as he posted an 8.10 ERA across three starts against the Tigers this year. KIA’s lineup has several hitters capable of punishing mistakes, including Kim Do-yeong and Harold Castro, who have both homered against Choi. The Tigers lead the KBO with 174 home runs.
With home-field advantage and a more encouraging matchup for their starting pitcher, I’m backing the KIA Tigers on the moneyline at -135 to take a 2-1 series lead.
