Best Bets for the Champions League Today, November 5 (With Reasoning)

Here are the detailed versions of my UCL best bets for today, November 5.

Ajax vs. Galatasaray: Ajax to Win (+220)

Ajax are currently last in the Champions League table and in desperate need of points. The team lost all three games so far, but the schedule is a big part of the reason behind the Dutch side’s struggles.

They had to face Inter at home, and then Marseille and Chelsea away. While the final scores have been very poor, losing all three games is not such a shocker. They need to respond against Galatasaray, though.

I don’t think Ajax should be favored in this match given their recent form, but +220 for the Dutch side is way too high against a team that’s very reliant on home field advantage in UEFA competitions.

Without the insane atmosphere at home, Galatasaray are not that good. In fact, they lost 5-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt in their only away game in the Champions League this season.

If you expand to last season, you will see that Galatasaray played a total of 6 games away from home in 2024-25 UEFA competitions and failed to win any of them. That list includes a 2-1 defeat against Ajax in Amsterdam, by the way.

Overall, I expect a close game that could go either way, so I’m more than happy to grab the huge price on the home team.

Man City vs. Borussia Dortmund: City and Both Teams to Score (+172)

Borussia Dortmund have the reputation of a teams that scores and concedes a lot of goals. That hasn’t been the case in the Bundesliga this season, but the German side’s matches in the Champions League have been wild.

The three games with Dortmund involved delivered 19 goals, for more than 6 goals per game on average, with both sides scoring in all of them.

I expect this trend to continue in their next clash. Manchester City have found some form recently, mostly thanks to Erling Haaland’s form. The striker has scored 17 goals in 13 games for City in the Premier League and Champions League combined.

The Norwegian should cause a lot of problems to his former club, while Dortmund have the attacking potential to find the net as well.

Overall, I expect City to prevail in a high-scoring game, so the +172 available for a home win and both teams to score is too good to ignore.
