Super Bowl 61 Betting Preview: Predictions, Odds, & Best Bets

As training camps around the country gear up for their first practices, several key offseason moves have already reshaped the Super Bowl 61 odds. The Seattle Seahawks opened as favorites to defend their title, but what’s changed since mid-February?

In this article, I break down the opening odds to win the Super Bowl, spotlight the leading contenders, and share my early Super Bowl 61 predictions for who will lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy next February.

Super Bowl 61 Winner Odds

The following Super Bowl winner odds are courtesy of BetOnline:

TEAM ODDS
Los Angeles Rams +500
Buffalo Bills +1000
Baltimore Ravens +1100
Seattle Seahawks +1100
Kansas City Chiefs +1600
Los Angeles Chargers +1800
Philadelphia Eagles +1800
San Francisco 49ers +1800
Cincinnati Bengals +2000
New England Patriots +2000
Denver Broncos +2000
Detroit Lions +2000
Houston Texans +2000

The Los Angeles Rams (+500) have surged to the top of the odds boards at the best Super Bowl betting sites. After opening at +800 in February, the Rams are now the clear favorites.

The Rams’ implied odds to win Super Bowl 61 have jumped from 11.1% to 16.7%. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have taken a hit in public perception after once being favored to defend their title.

With their price regressing from +750 to +1100, the Seahawks’ implied chance has fallen to 8.3%. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills (+1000) have shifted into the second spot, with a small gain from +1200. At +1000, the Bills hold a 9.1% implied probability to win their first Super Bowl.

Five teams are clustered between +1100 and +1500, including the Kansas City Chiefs (+1600) and San Francisco 49ers (+1800), as the second class of contenders remains a fairly significant distance behind the Rams in the current betting markets.

Super Bowl Betting Favorites

Before diving into my early Super Bowl betting picks, check out the top teams and how they stack up heading into the preseason:

Los Angeles Rams (+500)

    • Head Coach: Sean McVay
    • 2025-26 Record: 12-5 (Lost NFC Championship)
    • Key Players: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Puka Nacua, LB Byron Young, DE Myles Garrett, LB Jared Verse, LB Nate Landman
    • Notable Unrestricted Free Agents: S Kam Curl, CB Cobie Durant, WR Tutu Atwell

Although the Rams’ Super Bowl odds shortened from +800 to +500, there remains genuine value for a team that should fire on all cylinders again in 2026-27. Fresh off his first regular season MVP award, QB Matthew Stafford is expected to have another standout year. Stafford passed for 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns, and eight interceptions on 65% completions. He edged out Patriots’ QB Drake Maye by a single vote.

It could be his final season in the NFL, so I expect him to leave it all out on the field. Averaging 30 points per game to lead the league isn’t a fluke. The Rams were stacked with weapons this past season, and they shouldn’t skip a beat.

Stafford’s experience in big moments matters come playoff time, and having WR Puka Nacua operating as an elite receiving threat gives LA the explosive playmaker every contender needs.

RB Kyren Williams adds another dimension, keeping defenses honest and preventing opponents from simply teeing off on the pass rush.

The secondary concerns are legitimate, and defensive consistency was spotty at times last season. However, the Rams’ front office completely flipped the script with a blockbusting offseason trade, sending Jared Verse and a package of picks to Cleveland to land two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.

Pairing Garrett’s historic production, coming off an NFL-record 23-sack campaign, alongside a rising star like Byron Young gives LA an instantly terrifying edge rotation.

With Nate Landman anchoring the middle and Garrett completely changing how offenses have to pass-protect, the front seven transforms from a projection into an elite, game-wrecking unit.

If the revamped secondary, now boosted by the addition of lock-down corner Trent McDuffie, can simply hold its own, the Rams are going to have all angles covered on offense and defense.

At these odds, you’re getting roughly 16% implied probability on a team that’s proven it can hang with anyone when clicking. The path requires everything coming together at the right time, but the offensive foundation is rock solid and the defense has been heavily upgraded into a championship-caliber unit.

For a team with this much elite star power, +500 offers enough value to make it one of the most intriguing 2027 Super Bowl winner picks.

Buffalo Bills (+1000)

    • Head Coach: Joe Brady
    • 2025-26 Record: 12-5 (Lost Divisional Round)
    • Key Players: QB Josh Allen, RB James Cook, WR Khalil Shakir, S Cole Bishop, S Jordan Poyer
    • Notable Unrestricted Free Agents: LB Matt Milano, LB Shaq Thompson, DE AJ Epenesa, DE Joey Bosa

The Bills’ Super Bowl 61 winner odds at +1200 present a fascinating case study in playoff reliability versus regular season dominance. Buffalo’s ground game was genuinely elite this season, leading the league in rushing yards with RB James Cook spearheading an attack that completely transformed their offensive identity. Cook rushed for 1,621 yards and 12 touchdowns on 5.2 yards per carry.

Josh Allen finally has the balanced support he’s needed, and their secondary can legitimately shut down opposing passing attacks.

The weaknesses, though, are hard to ignore. That running defense remains exploitable, which matters enormously in January when physical teams impose their will.

They signed edge rusher Bradley Chubb and DL Mike Danna, but I’m not optimistic about this being an elite unit in Jim Leonhard’s first year as defensive coordinator.

The front office also addressed the weak receiving corps by adding WR DJ Moore in the offseason. While Moore’s present helps, their depth at receiver is still troublesome. Most troubling is the historical pattern, as this franchise has repeatedly faltered when the stakes are highest, and playoff demons that haven’t disappeared.

Additionally, the Bills are working with a first-year head coach in Joe Brady, and their defense had to undergo a massive, cap-compliant restructuring this offseason.

The front seven looks completely different after losing key anchors like pass-rusher A.J. Epenesa to the Eagles and seeing a cornerstone like linebacker Matt Milano hit the unrestricted market alongside defensive tackles DaQuan Jones and Jordan Phillips.

While they took a high-stakes gamble to patch the pass rush by signing Chubb to a $43.5 million deal, the secondary remains highly volatile after trading away slot cornerback Taron Johnson to the Raiders and letting depth pieces like Dane Jackson and Taylor Rapp walk.

The +1100 price at NFL betting sites reflects exactly this uncertainty. The market clearly respects Buffalo’s foundational talent while pricing in legitimate skepticism about their defensive identity and ability to close out games.

You’re getting decent value if you believe this is finally the year Josh Allen overcomes the roster churn, but that’s a leap of faith based more on hope than evidence.

Seattle Seahawks (+1100)

    • Head Coach: Mike Macdonald
    • 2025-26 Record: 14-3 (Super Bowl champions)
    • Key Players: QB Sam Darnold, WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, LB Ernest Jones IV, LB Drake Thomas, S Nick Emmanwori
    • Notable Unrestricted Free Agents: RB Kenneth Walker III, CB Tariq Woolen, S Coby Bryant, CB Jose Jobe

In just Mike Macdonald’s second season as head coach, the Seattle Seahawks reached the pinnacle of the NFL, capturing Super Bowl glory. The former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator molded Seattle into a late-season powerhouse, closing the year with 10 straight wins and lifting the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium.

Macdonald’s defensive expertise was the foundation of Seattle’s rise. He turned the Seahawks into the league’s most dominant defensive unit, with playmakers at every level. The result was a group that finished first in the NFL in points allowed per game, giving up only 16.9 points on average over the 2025-26 season.

What makes this defense so dangerous is its versatility. Seattle can beat opponents in different ways, but it all starts with its ability to pressure the quarterback.

Their performance against Patriots’ QB Drake Maye in Super Bowl LX was a perfect example: six sacks and constant disruption to force him into key errors. With a loaded front that features linebackers Ernest Jones and Drake Thomas, the Seahawks are expected to remain a force in the trenches heading into the 2026–27 campaign.

That strength up front also shows in their run defense. Seattle finished with the NFL’s third-best run defense, allowing just 93 rushing yards per game. While they bid farewell to some veteran depth, they actively weaponized the offseason by signing elite edge rushers DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr. to bolster Mike Macdonald’s pass-rush rotation.

These arrivals are crucial because the secondary will look entirely different. As expected, CB Tariq Woolen and Coby Bryant both departed in free agency, forcing Seattle to rebuild the back half.

The front office patched those holes by signing veteran CB Noah Igbinoghene and drafting safety Bud Clark. Even with the defensive backfield reshuffled, the expectation is that Macdonald’s coaching will keep the unit highly disciplined.

On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks’ offense spent much of the year underrated, quietly demanding respect week after week. QB Sam Darnold, once widely labeled a bust after being drafted third overall in 2018, has now rewritten his narrative as a Super Bowl champion. Down the stretch, he cut down on costly mistakes and consistently came through in big moments.

Over his final eight games of the season, Darnold threw 11 touchdowns against just four interceptions. He elevated his play even further in the postseason, tossing five touchdown passes with no interceptions on the way to his first ring. With NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba headlining his supporting cast, Darnold is well-positioned to build on that success in 2026-27.

As a whole, Seattle’s offense was one of the league’s most explosive, averaging 29.2 points per game, second-best in the NFL. Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III signed as a free agent with the Chiefs, but the Seahawks have reason to believe RB Zach Charbonnet can step into a larger role if needed.

That being said, I question if Darnold can maintain his spectacular form. Another reason for concerns is losing offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the Raiders’ head coaching. It was such a close season in the NFL that any regression from Darnold and the wrong pick for a new OC could have detrimental results.

Best Super Bowl 61 Sleepers

The race for the Super Bowl is expected to be another wide-open campaign. The Seahawks won as 60-1 underdogs in the preseason, so you shouldn’t ignore longshot 2027 Super Bowl picks. The following two are especially compelling:

  1. 1. New England Patriots (+2000)

The Patriots went on a scorching hot run to reach Super Bowl LX. After back-to-back 4-13 seasons and long odds, the Patriots won the AFC Championship and went to the Super Bowl behind second-year QB Drake Maye.

The betting public doesn’t have much confidence in the Patriots repeating what they did in 2026-27. However, with another year of experience under Maye’s belt, and the Patriots’ strong defense remaining together, I can’t ignore them at +2000 odds.

Despite Stefon Diggs departing the organization, the Patriots reloaded by bringing in WR AJ Brown, who should be fresh and motivated after an ugly divorce with the Eagles. Expect the Patriots to be in the mix again, with the young core on this roster more focused after gaining experience from a trip to the Super Bowl.

At +1800, the Patriots are worth a small bet to win Super Bowl LXI.

  2. 2. Houston Texans (+2000)

After a season that saw the Texans finish 12-5, I’m surprised that they are getting this excellent price. The Texans ranked second in the NFL, yielding an average of 17.3 points per game in 2025-26. They finished first in yards allowed at 271.9 points allowed per contest.

The defense will be stout once again under the guidance of defensive-minded head coach DeMeco Ryans. There shouldn’t be any distrust in Ryans and the Texans’ defense because they should flourish in 2026-27. The question mark is the play of QB C.J. Stroud. If Stroud blossoms and develops into a top 5 quarterback, the Texans are in serious business.

Stroud has the tools and could easily impress after what was an up and down sophomore campaign. The Texans aren’t that far off pace with how dangerous their defense is, so well worth a look for your Super Bowl 61 betting picks at +2000.

Super Bowl 61 Predictions and Betting Pick

I backed the Seahawks over the Rams to win Super Bowl 60 and was rewarded with a massive payout, but that decision was largely driven by Los Angeles’ thin secondary and shallow defensive line rotation. If the Rams had been just a bit stronger in those areas, they would’ve been far tougher to fade.

That is exactly why I didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on the Rams at +800 back in February immediately after the Super Bowl wrapped up. The front office knew their window was wide open, but nobody could have predicted just how aggressively GM Les Snead would attack those roster flaws.

By pulling off a masterclass of an offseason trade to acquire two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett and pairing him with a re-engineered secondary anchored by Trent McDuffie, LA went from a flawed contender to a defensive strength overnight.

Even if you missed out on the +800 ticket we grabbed in February, laying a unit on them at the current +500 price still presents immense value for your 2027 Super Bowl winner picks.
