Akron allowed 254.3 passing yards per game last season, ranking 106th in the FBS, and there may not be much improvement coming. The Zips have significant turnover in the secondary, including the departures of Malcolm DeWalt and Elijah Reed, while star pass rusher Julien Laventure also left for Texas Tech.

Colorado allowed a staggering 222.5 rushing yards per game in 2025, ranking 132nd out of 136 FBS teams. The Buffaloes’ defensive rebuild under Deion Sanders has been ongoing, but the front seven has remained a major weakness. Unless Colorado made a dramatic turnaround during the offseason, Georgia Tech should have opportunities to establish the run and lean on Haynes.
