Best Anytime Scorer Bets for Week 1 (With Reasoning)
Here’s the reasoning behind my anytime TD scorer picks this week:
Kenneth Gainwell (+200): Buccaneers vs. Bengals
Kenneth Gainwell at +200 is a great anytime touchdown option in Buccaneers vs. Bengals, especially with the potential for a significant role in Tampa Bay’s offense.
Gainwell is coming off a breakout year with Pittsburgh, setting career highs with 1,023 scrimmage yards and eight total touchdowns. His versatility should translate well in Tampa Bay, where his ability as both a runner and receiver could keep him on the field in a variety of situations.
The matchup also sets up well. Cincinnati allowed 147.1 rushing yards per game last season, the most in the NFL, while surrendering 18 rushing touchdowns. With Sean Tucker questionable for Week 1, Gainwell and Bucky Irving should handle most of the workload.
Gainwell’s receiving ability gives him an edge on third downs and increases his chances of being on the field near the goal line. At +200, he offers appealing value to find the end zone.
David Montgomery (-125): Bills vs. Texans
David Montgomery at −125 is a strong anytime touchdown bet in Bills vs. Texans, with the matchup and expected workload both pointing toward a productive debut in Houston.
Montgomery has averaged 4.1 yards per carry over his career, and after being traded to Houston this offseason, he should see RB1 touches for the first time since his days as Chicago’s lead back. That workload gives him plenty of opportunities to find the end zone.
The matchup is particularly appealing. Buffalo allowed 136.2 rushing yards per game last season, the fifth most in the NFL, while surrendering 24 rushing touchdowns, tied for the most in the league.
Houston’s receiving corps is also limited, with Jayden Higgins out and Tank Dell still working back from his knee injury. That could lead to even more work for Montgomery, making him a strong candidate to score this week.
Zay Flowers (+160): Ravens vs. Colts
Zay Flowers at +160 made my anytime TD picks this week. Indianapolis’ vulnerable pass defense should open the door for Baltimore’s top receiver.
The Colts allowed 247.9 passing yards per game last season, tied for the second most in the NFL. That creates a favorable matchup for Flowers, whose quickness and shiftiness should make him difficult for Indianapolis to contain.
Lamar Jackson’s injuries limited Baltimore’s passing attack in 2025, but a healthy Lamar should mean a much more dangerous offense this season. Flowers has led the Ravens in receiving in each of the last three years and remains Jackson’s favorite target.
Indianapolis recorded 39 sacks last season, only an average mark league-wide. If the Colts can’t consistently pressure Jackson, Flowers should have plenty of opportunities to make an impact and find the end zone.
Ladd McConkey (+120): Cardinals vs. Chargers
I like Ladd McConkey at +120 in the Cardinals vs. Chargers matchup, with Arizona’s vulnerable pass defense creating a favorable environment for Los Angeles’ top receiver.
The Cardinals allowed 31 passing touchdowns last season, tied for sixth most in the NFL. McConkey should have opportunities to take advantage, especially with the Chargers expecting a healthier offense this season.
Injuries along Los Angeles’ offensive line hindered Justin Herbert and the passing game last year. With both starting tackles back, Herbert should have more time to operate, which could create additional opportunities for McConkey.
McConkey led the Chargers in receiving last season and scored six touchdowns, the second most on the team. His 310 yards after the catch were a major part of his production, giving him the ability to turn short completions into touchdowns even when Los Angeles is outside the Red Zone.
