Best College Basketball Player Prop Bets (With Reasoning)

Let’s explore the reasoning behind our best NCAAB props today, November 5.

Total Points: Tyler Tanner (VAN) Over 19.5 (-115)

Tyler Tanner looks like an excellent option to have a big offensive performance against Wake Forest. The Vanderbilt guard is off to a strong start this season, scoring 20 points on an impressive 70% shooting in the win over Bellarmine. He also led all Commodores with 28 minutes, showing how important he is to this team’s offense.

Tanner is coming off a tremendous sophomore campaign, averaging 19.5 points per game on 48.5% shooting while starting all 36 games. He also scored at least 20 points in five of his last seven games, including 26 and 27 in two March Madness matchups. He should be even more comfortable leading the offense this year with Vanderbilt relying heavily on his production.

I also like this matchup against Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons should provide a much tougher test than Bellarmine, meaning Vanderbilt will likely need Tanner on the floor for extended minutes. His 28 minutes in the opener should increase in a more competitive game, giving him additional opportunities to reach the 20-point mark.

I’m backing Tanner to clear 19.5 points as one of the best college basketball player prop bets tonight.

Tanner 20+ Points

Total Assists: Ace Glass (VAN) 2+ (-135)

Look for Vanderbilt guard Ace Glass to record at least two assists against Wake Forest. Glass opened the season with two assists in the 93-47 win over Bellarmine, and I expect him to remain an important part of the Commodores’ offensive rotation.

The sophomore guard is coming off an impressive freshman campaign at Washington State, where he averaged 2.3 assists per game while also leading the Cougars in scoring at 16.4 points per contest.

Glass finished with at least two assists in four of his final five games last season at Washington State, showing improved confidence as the year progressed. He also has the scoring ability to draw defensive attention and create opportunities for his teammates. With Vanderbilt expected to lean on its talented backcourt again this season, Glass should have plenty of opportunities to facilitate the offense.

He already showed what he can contribute in the opener, and I expect his role to remain significant against a much tougher Wake Forest opponent. Two assists is a very attainable number, making 2+ one of my favorite NCAAB player prop bets today.
