As the final stretch of the regular season is ushered in, the MLB Rookie of the Year odds for the American and National League are still available! With the AL essentially wrapped up, there is still an active race for ROY in the NL.
In this article, I explore the latest odds to win, analyze the favorites, and reveal my MLB Rookie of the Year predictions for both the AL and NL.
MLB Rookie of the Year 2025 Betting Odds

Nick Kurtz (-20000) is a mammoth favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award in the AL. The race is essentially over, with the only thing left to do is announce the Athletics’ first baseman’s name.
At -20000, Kurtz has a 99.5% implied probability to win the AL Rookie of the Year. There’s no legit competition for Kurtz, who has run away with the award in the second half of the season.
If you are feeling bold, Roman Anthony (+2000) and Cam Smith (+3000) offer huge prices. Note, though, Anthony, with the second-shortest AL ROY odds, has only a 4.8% implied probability to win. While Anthony has been great since being called up and showing a lot of promise, 4.8% is awfully generous at this point.
NL Rookie of the Year Odds

The NL Rookie of the Year race is much tighter than in the American League. With Isaac Collins (-160) the leading favorite, the Milwaukee Brewers’ left fielder has a 61.5% implied probability to grab the NL ROY.
Collins can’t get too comfortable, as Drake Baldwin (+120) is nipping on his heels. As of August 22 at the best MLB betting sites, the 24-year-old catcher of the Atlanta Braves has a 45.5% implied chance to oust Collins for the Rookie of the Year in the NL.
It’s a two-player race, with Agustin Ramirez (+2000) and Cade Horton (+2000) well behind Collins and Baldwin. Ramirez and Horton share a 4.8% implied probability, so it’d take a considerable collapse for them to win.

American League Rookie of the Year 2025 Favorites
Before delving into my AL Rookie of the Year picks, let’s analyze the only contender remaining in the race and huge betting favorite:
Nick Kurtz (-20000)
The A’s first baseman is one of one in the AL Rookie of the Year contest. Is there anything that could stop Kurtz now? This is wrapped up and in the bag. I wish I could talk about some heated sprint developing in September, but that isn’t the case.
Kurtz is hitting an incredible .362/.500/.552 in August to clinch the award. Overall, through 87 games this season, the rookie has recorded a .315 batting average and 68 RBIs. He’s also connected for 26 home runs to give him a huge cushion over the competition.
In comparison, Anthony has four home runs in 58 games, while Smith is at seven long balls in 110 matchups this season. There’s no doubt on who the AL Rookie of the Year is in 2025.
Since May 20th, Nick Kurtz easily leads MLB in all slash line categories (min. 200 PA):
.348 AVG (next highest: .325 – Xavier Edwards)
.446 OBP (next highest: .423 – Ronald Acuña Jr.)
.755 SLG (next highest: .635 – Aaron Judge)Just 22-years-old 🤯 pic.twitter.com/GIyXkUUYAz

The real explanation point was applied when Kurtz launched four homers and went 6/6 at the dish on July 25 against the Houston Astros. He became the first MLB rookie to hit four home runs in a single matchup!
It’s a foregone conclusion, and I’m surprised that AL Rookie of the Year 2025 odds are still being offered!
National League Rookie of the Year 2025 Favorites
Similar to the American League, let’s break down the top favorites, according to the latest MLB Rookie of the Year 2025 odds:
Isaac Collins (-160)
According to the latest NL Rookie of the Year odds, Collins leads a close race over Baldwin. Collins made his debut with the Brewers last season, as he appeared in 11 games with 17 at-bats.
In 2025, the 28-year-old Collins made the Opening Day roster for the Brewers’ season opener on March 27. The left fielder has been a solid contributor for the MLB-leading Brewers. Collins has notched a .277 with a .376 OBP and 43 RBIs.
He’s also blasted eight home runs, including two since August 4. The native of Maple Grove, MN, has been at his best since June. Seven of Collins’ home runs have been dispatched over the last two months!
Through 55 at-bats in August, Collins is hitting .291 with a .564 SLG%. He’s been consistently sound in the batter’s box, and I expect him to maintain this level of production over the next month.

Collins had to wait a while to hear his name called up to the Majors, but he’s making the best of it now. Even more than his offensive stats, Collins has been excellent in the outfield for the Brewers. He is an all-around ball player who is rightfully the betting favorite.
Drake Baldwin (+120)
Baldwin is keeping within reach of Collins down the stretch. He has some things going for him, which include better power numbers with 12 homers in 91 matchups. However, with just two hits over his last 14 at-bats, he’s been unable to cut into Collins’ lead.
It'd been a couple hours since we mentioned that Drake Baldwin should be ROTY so it was about time we brought it up again.#BravesCountry pic.twitter.com/Dy4ykJcvnW
— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) August 10, 2025
Along with 12 long balls, Baldwin is hitting .278 with 56 RBIs and a .799 OPS. At this point, who is the better all-around player? Collins has a tough gig behind the plate as a catcher, and he has shown improvement.
However, he is still inconsistent and fails to come up with plays that Sean Murphy would probably have had if he were playing. I’m optimistic that Baldwin will ultimately develop into an elite catcher because he’s showing tremendous growth from earlier in the season.
Nevertheless, manager Brian Snitker hasn’t been committed to playing Baldwin every day despite his superior offensive numbers. Murphy is the better catcher defensively, so Baldwin sits more than fans would like to see.
It’s close, but Baldwin needs to lay the hammer down in September and catch fire to comfortably go ahead of Collins in the NL Rookie of the Year voting.
MLB Rookie of the Year 2025 Longshots
While it appears like a chance for a longshot winning has faded fast, there are still some interesting options available.
MLB Rookie of the Year Predictions and Best Bets
Let’s conclude our MLB Rookie of the Year odds analysis with a look at our top picks in the NL and AL. Also, as an aside, consider accessing our MLB betting guide for help with a variety of different strategies this baseball season.
2025 AL Rookie of the Year Betting Pick
There aren’t any question marks surrounding who the likely winner is for the AL Rookie of the Year. Kurtz will cruise en route to winning this award.
After all, Kurtz’s implied probability is above 99%! According to the AL Rookie of the Year odds, there is a 0.5% chance of him losing. I don’t know. Even if Kurtz got injured tomorrow, he’d still win.
And yet, wagering on Kurtz at -20000 doesn’t present any value whatsoever. It would take a $20,000 bet to win just $100! There are better ways to win $100 than having to pay $20,000.
In summary, while Kurtz will win, this bet is a big pass at -20000.
2025 NL Rookie of the Year Betting Pick
In the National League, Collins and Baldwin should go down to the wire in September. There are metrics that point to Collins, while you could make the argument that Baldwin is the play.
When it comes down to it, Collins has the slight edge and is likely to capture NL Rookie of the Year honors. He has the superior WAR at 2.6 against Baldwin’s 2.3 and has been the better complete player. Not by a considerable margin, but Collins beats Baldwin here.
I have more faith in Collins excelling down the stretch in September as well. He went through a brief down period, but Baldwin did nothing with it to catch up. Baldwin hasn’t had a multi-hit game in six matchups since August 9.
Sharing time on the diamond behind the dish with Murphy also hurts Baldwin’s case. In short, Collins is a solid bet for your MLB Rookie of the Year picks in the NL at -160.
