The following NFL Week 5 odds are courtesy of Bovada.

Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Chicago Bears+6 (-115)+220Over 45 (-115)
Washington Commanders-6 (-105)-270Under 45 (-105)

The Washington Commanders have had a difficult schedule over the last two weeks. In Week 3, the Commanders welcomed the Buffalo Bills to FedExField.

Following the blowout loss, the Commanders were at Philadelphia for a Week 4 showdown with the Eagles. That was a tough stretch for first-year starting QB Sam Howell.

However, Thursday Night Football should be a solid spot for Howell to regain his footing.

Expect big games from Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel against the Bears’ secondary. Meanwhile, the Commanders’ pass rush should pressure Justin Fields into mistakes on their home field.

Bears vs. Commanders Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Washington Commanders -6 (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Washington Commanders (-270)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 45 (-115)

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Buffalo Bills Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Jacksonville Jaguars+5 (-110)+180Over 48 (-110)
Buffalo Bills-5 (-110)-220Under 48 (-110)

The Buffalo Bills fly overseas to meet with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the home of the Tottenham Spurs. For the second consecutive week, the Jaguars have a game in London in an NFL International Series matchup.

The travel schedule will be a little more hectic for the Bills after a marquee showing against the Miami Dolphins. After blowing out the Dolphins in a signature win, they have to fly overseas to the UK.

Expect the Bills to survive with a late win, but the Jaguars are in a position to be competitive in Week 5.

Jaguars vs. Bills Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Jacksonville Jaguars +5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Buffalo Bills (-220)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 48 (-110)

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Baltimore Ravens-3.5 (-105)-180Over 40 (-110)
Pittsburgh Steelers+3.5 (-115)+155Under 40 (-110)

In one of the AFC’s greatest rivalries over the last two decades, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers clash at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

The last six matchups between the Ravens and Steelers have been decided by less than a touchdown. In their previous four meetings, the games were decided by a field goal or less.

The Steelers have won five of their last six games against the Ravens. Siding with the home underdog is always a wise bet in this rivalry series.

Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Pittsburgh Steelers +3.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Pittsburgh Steelers (+155)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 40 (-110)

Carolina Panthers vs. Detroit Lions Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Carolina Panthers+7.5 (-105)+300Over 43.5 (-110)
Detroit Lions-7.5 (-115)-400Under 43.5 (-110)

The Lions return home to Ford Field following a successful NFC North rivalry matchup at Lambeau Field on Thursday Night Football.

It was an impressive display by the Lions, as they bullied the Packers in the trenches on both sides of the ball. This week, the Lions have their eyes set on rookie QB Bryce Young.

Bovada’s NFL Week 5 odds indicate that the Lions are a touchdown favorite over the Panthers. Young has to get rid of the ball quickly against the Lions’ strong pass rush, or it could get ugly early.

In our opinion, the Lions should pull out the win with their rushing game and defensive line. The Panthers have had trouble defending the run, and it’s not going to get better versus David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.

And, oh yeah, Jameson Williams could be back early to give an offense already clicking more firepower.

Panthers vs. Lions Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Detroit Lions -7.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Detroit Lions (-400)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 43.5 (-110)

Houston Texans vs. Atlanta Falcons Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Houston Texans+2 (-110)+110Over 41 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons-2 (-110)-185Under 41 (-110)

The Falcons fly back home after playing the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. The travel schedule likely isn’t going to be easy on this young Falcons squad.

They need an experienced leader to quickly get this team focused after an overseas trip, but we are not sure that it is present in Atlanta.

The Falcons depend on being physical at the point of attack on the line of scrimmage. Running the ball with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier is their game plan, which isn’t a secret to any defensive coordinator in the NFL.

After a physical battle against the Jaguars overseas, expect the Falcons to be a step slower in Week 5. C.J. Stroud and the Texans have a chance to steal another win on the road this season.

Texans vs. Falcons Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Houston Texans +2 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Houston Texans (+110)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 41 (-110)

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Minnesota Vikings Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
KC Chiefs-6 (-110)-270Over 52.5 (-110)
Minnesota Vikings+6 (-110)+225Under 52.5 (-110)

Expect plenty of fireworks at U.S. Bank Stadium between the Chiefs and Vikings. There should be points on the board in a high-scoring contest. We are betting on Taylor Swift not being in attendance to see it all unfold in Minnesota.

Nevertheless, Travis Kelce should have a strong performance against a beatable Vikings’ secondary. In addition to Kelce, the rest of the Chiefs offense should find room to get open in this one against the blitz.

The offense was stagnant through the first two weeks, but exploded against the Chicago Bears for 41 points. In Week 4, the Jets’ defense was able to hold them back on Sunday Night Football.

However, the Vikings do not have the Jets’ defense. Kirk Cousins won’t be able to keep pace, as the Chiefs pull away and cover over the Vikings.

Chiefs vs. Vikings Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: KC Chiefs -6 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: KC Chiefs (-270)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 52.5 (-110)

New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
New Orleans Saints+1.5 (-110)+105Over 40.5 (-110)
New England Patriots-1.5 (-110)-125Under 40.5 (-110)

The Saints and Patriots are likely to engage in a low-scoring defensive battle at Gillette Stadium. Which defense will prevail in this physical contest?

Derek Carr is just 1-3 in four games against the Patriots in his career. Bill Belichick has had success limiting Carr in the past.

Back home following a tough time at AT&T Stadium versus the Cowboys, the Patriots’ pass rush should be the difference.

The Patriots have decent betting value as less than a field-goal favorite at home.

Saints vs. Patriots Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: New England Patriots -1.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: New England Patriots (-125)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 40.5 (-110)

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Tennessee Titans+1 (-110)+100Over 42.5 (-110)
Indianapolis Colts-1 (-110)-120Under 42.5 (-110)

You have to pick your spots with the Titans and Colts this season. There will be great situations where both of these teams are great bets, but other weeks you want to fade or stay away from both squads.

The Titans want to hand the ball off to Derrick Henry and play smash-mouth football. Ryan Tannehill does not have the arm to pass for 400 yards every week.

As we discovered versus the Ravens, the Colts can beat a run-focused offense. They couldn’t complete an impressive comeback, though rookie Anthony Richardson and the Colts showed a lot of grit.

Expect a late play from Richardson to save the Colts. It’ll be close, but the home team should win by a field goal.

Titans vs. Colts Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Indianapolis Colts -1 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Indianapolis Colts (-120)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 42.5 (-110)

New York Giants vs. Miami Dolphins Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
NY Giants+10 (-110)+360Over 49.5 (-110)
Miami Dolphins-10 (-110)-500Under 49.5 (-110)

In Week 4, the Dolphins were at Buffalo in the matchup of the week. The Dolphins couldn’t keep up with the Bills, but Tua Tagovailoa and company have looked unstoppable for most of this season.

The Dolphins’ Super Bowl 58 odds have reacted favorably to their hot start at football betting sites. However, this matchup against the Giants could signal a backdoor cover.

Will the Dolphins be as interested in the Giants as they were last week? Probably not. The Dolphins win, though the Giants sneak up to cover in the fourth quarter.

Giants vs. Dolphins Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: NY Giants +10 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Miami Dolphins (-500)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 49.5 (-110)

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Cincinnati Bengals-5 (-110)-200Over 42.5 (-110)
Arizona Cardinals+5 (-110)+170Under 42.5 (-110)

The Arizona Cardinals have played well above expectations. Despite a loss to the 49ers in Week 4, the Cardinals were coming off a huge upset over the Cowboys a week earlier.

Additionally, the Cardinals were competitive in losses to the Commanders and Giants. They were expected to tank and compete for the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, QB Joshua Dobbs wasn’t supposed to be this good. The former Steelers’ backup has used this opportunity to rejuvenate his career.

Laying points on the Bengals in their current mediocre state doesn’t look like a good value bet. They should edge out the Cardinals for a win on the road, but Dobbs will make this a competitive affair.

Bengals vs. Cardinals Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Arizona Cardinals +5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Cincinnati Bengals (-200)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 42.5 (-110)

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Philadelphia Eagles-5 (-110)-220Over 47 (-110)
LA Rams+5 (-110)+180Under 47 (-110)

Do the Rams have the offensive weapons to exploit a talented Eagles’ defense? To upset the Eagles, there typically has to be a vaunted offense on the other side.

Cooper Kupp hopes to return this week, but the Rams are still unsure about his status. The Rams will need him against the Eagles. Matthew Stafford targeting Puka Nacua 20 times won’t fool this defense.

Expect the Eagles to lean on their defensive playmakers to get the upper hand. Jalen Hurts will likely take care of the rest at SoFi Stadium.

Eagles vs. Rams Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Philadelphia Eagles -5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Philadelphia Eagles (-220)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 47 (-110)

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
NY Jets+3 (-110)+145Over 45.5 (-110)
Denver Broncos-3 (-110)-180Under 45.5 (-110)

The Broncos and Bears weren’t shaping up to be an entertaining matchup. But it ended up being a surprisingly entertainings game of the week, as the Broncos completed a 21-point comeback.

Next week they have the Chiefs at Arrowhead on the schedule. This is the perfect two-game stretch for the Broncos to get on track before the Chiefs.

After going down to the wire versus the Chiefs, expect Zach Wilson to struggle in the dry air at Mile High Stadium.

Jets vs. Broncos Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Denver Broncos -3 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Denver Broncos (-170)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 45.5 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Dallas Cowboys+3 (-105)+145Over 45.5 (-110)
San Francisco 49ers-3 (-115)-185Under 45.5 (-110)

The showdown of the week is in the NFC at Levi’s Stadium. The absence of Cowboys’ cornerback Trevor Diggs due to a torn ACL will have a significant impact against the 49ers.

Diggs and Stephon Gilmore in the secondary would have evened this matchup. However, 49ers playmakers Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey should thoroughly enjoy his absence.

Additionally, we don’t have a lot of confidence in Dak Prescott versus an aggressive 49ers’ defense. Last year, Prescott had a lot of issues trying to solve this defense in the NFL Divisional Round.

Cowboys vs. 49ers Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: San Francisco 49ers -3 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: San Francisco 49ers (-185)
  • Over-Under Bet: Under 45.5 (-110)

Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Odds

TEAMSPREADMONEYLINETOTAL
Green Bay Packers-1 (-110)-120Over 43.5 (-110)
Las Vegas Raiders+1 (-110)+100Under 43.5 (-110)

The Green Bay Packers had some extra time to think about their 14-point loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.

Is this enough time for the Packers to get healthy? Left tackle David Bakhtiari has officially been placed on the IR after his recent absence.

Zach Tom was able to start with a knee injury, but he was ineffective against the Lions’ pass rush. Offensive guard Royce Newman was healthy, but ended up being a significant liability.

Nevertheless, the Raiders are dealing with issues of their own, including QB Jimmy Garoppolo. In what should feel like a home game for the Packers, they should bounce back with the extra time to prepare for Monday Night Football.

Packers vs. Raiders Prediction:

  • Point Spread Bet: Green Bay Packers -1 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Green Bay Packers (-120)
  • Over-Under Bet: Over 43.5 (-110)

NFL Best Bets For Week 5

In addition to the Washington Commanders winning outright over the visiting Chicago Bears, we also really like the Kansas City Chiefs to destroy the Minnesota Vikings and easily cover the -6 points.

The Vikings’ defensive coordinator, Brian Flores, has been bringing pressure with the blitz early and often this season. Flores is being forced to blitz because the Vikings are getting beat in coverage anyway.

The defense has to gamble in an attempt to force turnovers. Gambling against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs typically has dire consequences, though. The Chiefs’ offensive line has been terrific to provide Mahomes with extra time in the pocket.

Expect Mahomes to have a field day in the dome at U.S. Bank Stadium. Cousins will come up with a big play or two, but their one-dimensional approach will not enable them to keep pace.

The Chiefs looked lethargic against a talented Jets’ defense. That shouldn’t be the case in Minnesota.

For the final pick of our NFL Week 5 predictions, check out the Chiefs as less than a touchdown favorite at sports betting sites.
