The PGA Tour heads to East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta this week for the Tour Championship, and we’ve reached the final stop of the FedExCup Playoffs! It’s a seriously strong 30-man field, with everyone starting at even par this year, meaning there are no starting strokes, and we get a straight shootout over 72 holes for the FedExCup and a $10 million first prize, just how it should be.
Wyndham Clark did the business for us last week, winning the BMW Championship at Bellerive and making it three wins for him this season. It was a brilliant performance from Clark, and hopefully we can carry that momentum into the final event of the season with our punting.
Scottie Scheffler is obviously going to be very hard to beat again, sitting top of the FedExCup standings and coming into East Lake as the clear favourite, while Rory McIlroy and a host of other big names will be looking to finish their seasons with a bang.
Who made my squad for the tournament, though? I will analyze the course first, and share my PGA Tour Championship 2026 best bets!
PGA Tour Championship 2026 Course Analysis
East Lake is a very different test to what we saw last week, measuring 7,440 yards as a par 70, and with just 30 players in the field there is nowhere to hide. I’m looking for players who I think can handle the demands of the course, but more importantly, I’m looking for proven winners, because this is one of the biggest events outside of the majors.
I’ve gone with a two-man squad again this week, and I really like the pair I’ve landed on. Both are at prices that I think offer enough value against the field, and hopefully we can finish the season with another winner after Clark got us over the line last week.

1. Rory McIlroy (+800)
It is quite rare that I put up Rory McIlroy as a betting proposition, but I do feel like this is the week to be on his side.
Last week in the BMW Championship, we were fortunate enough to be on the winner, but for a long time on Sunday it did feel like Rory McIlroy was coming to get Wyndham.
The reason I mention this, is because before the tournament, Rory had publicly shared his views on feeling like he lost his golf swing, and he ended up going off at a huge price of 20/1 in places for last week’s event. It’s always a worry to hear a player talking like that, but I was half tempted to back him because of the price. Eventually, I decided against it, and thankfully, Wyndham held on.
This does make me fancy Rory for this week though. I feel that turn will give him an instant boost and in the Tour Championship you need a proper player, with a strong cv. The Tour Championship feel isn’t far off the majors, and you have to have it down between the best players in the world.
I think Rory will start quicker this week, and he will be heavily in the mix come Sunday. Out of the playoff courses, this week suits him the best out of the last three. It feels the right time to side with Rory. Win only.
2. Wyndham Clark (+1600)
To go with Rory McIlroy, I am going to stick with Wyndham Clark one more time, as I see no reason why he can’t add to his already illustrious season. As mentioned before, I had backed Wyndham Clark for all five of his PGA Tour wins, but after last week, that’s now six, so why not make it seven?
To win an event like the Tour Championship, you need to be a player of major calibee based on history, and Wyndham Clark is potentially the player of the year right now. He landed the Byron Nelson, then won a second US Open, last week he won the BMW Championship, and he could this week add a Tour Championship to that list.
I won’t go over his game again too much, as I feel like I am on repeat with him at this point, but his ball striking is unbelievable, he is as game as they come under pressure, and if he is in the mix over the weekend, he will have a huge chance.
This is the shortest price I have backed him at, but he owes me and my followers nothing at this point, and he is absolutely one of the likeliest winners of the tournament. We have backed Wyndham at huge prices previously, but he is now finally at the price he probably should have been for these events for a long time.
A class act, and a player who still doesn’t quite get the recognition he deserves. That might change after this tournament though, because winning it would cement him as the best player of the year, no questions asked.
