We already have 2024 Backlash odds for the France event, so it’s time to explore the first PPV since after WrestleMania and see what gambling opportunities are out there.

WWE Backlash has never been hosted outside North America, but that all changes when the WWE Universe invades Lyon Metropolis in France.

The WWE betting sites have released some WWE Backlash 2024 odds for the highly-anticipated card and should be adding more as the event nears. I will monitor BetOnline for all the very latest and will update this post with prices, full analysis, and my WWE Backlash predictions!

Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso Odds, Prediction, and Betting Pick

  • Damian Priest (-800)
  • Jey Uso (+425)

In one of the most predictable events that unfolded at WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. After Drew McIntyre retained the World Heavyweight Championship with a win over Seth Rollins, Priest seized the moment.

He used the briefcase to hit McIntyre over the head, and then finished him off with a South of Heaven chokeslam. This is the first title reign of Priest’s career after he had been getting pushed hard by WWE over the last year.

It was only a matter of time before Priest captured a top-tier strap, and there was no better place to do it than at WrestleMania. With Rhea Ripley receiving a strong push as well, the members of the Judgment Day faction are branching out to write prominent solo careers for themselves.

The newly-crowned Priest will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against 38-year-old Jey Uso, who left The Bloodline to exit the shadow of Roman Reigns last year. He has gained some steam as a likable babyface, and will likely remain by himself without Jimmy by his side.

That being said, Uso would be a surprising champion at Backlash France. Priest has worked hard to be the World Heavyweight champ. WWE executives have been pushing him to the moon, so why would they quickly take the title away from him less than a month later?

Additionally, Ripley had to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship after suffering a shoulder injury, which might impact this match. The promotion wants to keep a member of Judgment Day on a pedestal. Priest is the champ now,so this is the perfect opportunity for the stable to stay in the limelight.

The 2024 Backlash gambling odds point to Priest handling Uso easily. At -800, Priest has an implied probability of 88.9% to beat Uso in France! I agree with the price, though there isn’t much value here, so consider passing or making a small recreational play.

DAMIAN PRIEST

Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles Odds, Prediction, Betting Pick

  • Cody Rhodes (-4000)
  • AJ Styles (+1000)

My WWE Backlash 2024 predictions continue with another huge match in France! It’s also another match where a new champion was recently crowned. Cody Rhodes captured the WWE Universal Championship after beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

Rhodes’ win ended an incredible 1,316-day reign for Roman Reigns. It was about time the WWE moved on and introduced a new champion. As a heavy favorite to win at WrestleMania, bettors, and the bookies agreed wholeheartedly that Roman Reigns’ tenure as champ was wrapping up.

Whether you like it or not, Rhodes is the new face of the WWE. The company has worked hard to give him a big push, including working with The Rock, appearances on late-night television shows, and main event spots. It’s Rhodes time now!

“The American Nightmare” is a huge fan favorite at events, despite some wrestling fans not being too fond of his persona. Nevertheless, Rhodes carries himself as well as anyone in the company for a massive babyface. He is especially well-liked by kids, similarly to John Cena, who was extremely marketable.

So, why would WWE go through all this, only for AJ Styles to steal the title at Backlash? It would make zero sense. This feels like a situation where WWE wanted their new champ to have a dominant win in front of an amped European crowd.

Rhodes’ WWE Backlash 2024 betting odds suggest close to an automatic win. At -4000, he has a 97.6% chance to retain the title over Styles. I see it as being closer to 99%, but there isn’t any value at -4000 regardless.

I foresee Rhodes winning, though backing this price at sports betting sites is not in your best interest.

CODY RHODES
