However, let’s start with esports as this is where Thunderpick is building its foundation.

Enjoy props such as who will win Map 3 in a CSGO game. You can also put bets together like parlays to wager on multiple games at a time. I love betting parlays, so I liked the similarity to betting on sports.

Thunderpick doesn’t just offer esports betting. They feature almost 4,000 online casino games from 55 different developers, such as Quickspin, Pragmatic Play, and Yggrasil. In addition to 70 roulette games and 70 blackjack game options, there are an astounding 3,600 slots and counting at Thunderpick. I could sort by provider, popularity, alphabet, luckiest, RTP percentage, volatility (lowest and highest), max win multiplier and release date. I was also comforted to know that I could play these games in demo mode before betting money on them first. Therefore, I could test the games first to see if I liked them.

As a player, I found that being able to sort by RTP was a fantastic option. So, I chose Dogmasons MegaWOOF, with an RTP of 96.8%, a very high volatility and a max win multiplier of 5000x. It was a fun slots game to play and as a dog lover, I really liked the theme and graphics of it. However, I couldn’t find a paytable for the game, which I would have liked to see.

Thunderpick’s live casino features over 140 games. This blows the competition out of the water in terms of what they can offer. Most of the games are from reputable software developer, Evolution Gaming. I found that you can play live blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker, poker and specialty games such as Sweet Bonanza Candyland. At most live casinos, you have blackjack, roulette and baccarat as your main choices, and possibly a few game-show themed options. The amount of choice I found at this site is unique. This is simply the best live dealer casino I’ve seen yet.

For this review, I chose to play Infinite Blackjack, which has a max multiplier of 9x. I found the live dealer option to be very smooth, and the dealer was pleasant and professional as she kept the game moving.

The sportsbook at Thunderpick is very impressive as it covers more than major sports like American football, soccer and basketball. There are also political betting opportunities, as well as futsal, curling and bandy. It’s clear that Thunderpick tries to provide as many betting options as possible. Similar to your traditional sportsbook, there is a slew of props, parlays and typical sports bets. I found the Ajax-Marseille Europa Conference League game and laid a small wager on a draw at +245. I also bet on Both Teams to Score and Total Goals (Yes and Over 2.5) at -106.

One thing I did notice was that I wasn’t able to wager on NBA futures in September, with preseason starting in a couple of weeks. It would be nice to have that option ahead of the season. But overall, Thunderpick’s online sportsbook definitely holds up with the competition. 

Evaluation of Thunderpick Bonuses

When I signed up at Thunderpick, you had the ability to choose between two different welcome bonuses. Both are the same in terms of match percentage and deposit ceiling; 100% up to €600. However, one bonus is for esports betting with a 10x wagering requirement. If you’re looking to bet on esports, the lower wagering requirement is a great benefit. The other is a casino bonus, with a very good 30x wagering requirement. Both require a €20 minimum deposit to access these bonuses.

Their 100% match bonus is also good compared to the competition, but a higher deposit ceiling would have been nice as €600 is relatively low. The rollover requirements are standard with the competition, and slightly better than some for the casino rollover requirements. There is also no bonus for sports bettors. Given that there is a robust sportsbook, I would have liked to see a bonus for sports fans.

Now, I’ll walk you through my evaluation of the rest of the bonuses and perks you’ll find at Thunderpick. We’ll start with their VIP Club and then move on to Rank Points, Gift Cards, Races and Spin To Win.

At Thunderpick, you’ll only receive an invite to the VIP Club based on the amount you bet. With entry into this club, players can receive exclusive bonuses and benefits such as priority withdrawals with higher withdrawal limits, higher betting limits, no-fee transactions, and your own personal account manager. This is in line with the top competition, as these are the main factors I look for when it comes to VIP clubs. However, there is no required level to reach or tiers to progress through. You’ll receive an email when you reach that level. It would be nice to have a little more transparency here.

Players receive Rank Points (RP) based on bets and completing other tasks. There are five tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Challenger. You receive 100 RP for every €1 you wager. For example, if you bet €5, you’ll receive 500 RPs.  Every 24 hours, 10 players can earn a promotion from Diamond to Challenger, while some players might also earn a demotion. The value in these rank points lie in the giveaways you can receive. These giveaways can include lower fees and prizes. But I found it difficult to find much information on how valuable these RPs are.

I did learn that getting to a specific rank will get you entry to different giveaways. For example, for a Diamond giveaway, you need a rank of Diamond or Challenger. For a Gold giveaway, users with Gold or higher are eligible. If you’re at Bronze, you only have access to Bronze giveaways. Again, I would like it to be a bit more clear on whether these Rank Points have anything to do with the VIP Club, however. Information was scarce on their website.

Refer-A-Friend

I found the refer-a-friend benefits has the potential to be outstanding. When you refer your friends to Thunderpick, you automatically get 100% of their first deposit once they apply your code. Additionally, you receive up to 30% of the revenue generated by your referral, and rank points equal to their first deposit. There are levels to your commission:

• For 0-25 referrals, you get 10% of the revenue each generates.
• 26-99 referrals gets you 20% of the revenue.
• 100 or more referrals will earn you 30% of the overall revenue.

You also receive the same amount of Rank Points as your referral’s first deposit. Most competitors will only allow you to claim up to a certain amount. Here is a comparison based on their top competitors:

• BetOnline: 300% up to $200

Thunderpick does really well overall at offering perks throughout the month. One of those perks are gift cards. They randomly select 150–200 players each month and send out these gift cards. These cards can be used for free play credits and are sent via email (so make sure they aren’t caught in your spam filters). There is no betting amount required in order to receive these cards. Overall, it’s a very cool incentive that you don’t normally see at other online gambling sites.

Races

Thunderpick really leans into the esports aspect of their site with their digital races. Every two days, a race is launched in an arcade-style format, similar to virtual horse racing. This means the player has an avatar (in this case, a car) to represent them. The more points you score, the more your car advances on the racetrack. Here is how you score points:

Only the top 150 highest scores in a prize pool will receive the highest amounts of money, in descending order. This is another rarity for online gambling sites. For example, in a recent race, I saw that the winning player racked up 2,051,989 race points. That earned them $635.83. Second place picked up $381.50 by accumulating 2,002,034 race points. Not everyone gets a piece of the prize pool, so make sure you get inside the magic 150 number to get a share.

Spin to Win

Thunderpick features contests to play either specific slot games, or games from a certain developer. For example, in September 2023 at the time of writing, Thunderpick had two contests to specifically play Gamzix slots and Wazdan slots. Just like races, the higher your score is, the more you can win from the prize pool. Currently, there is a five-week spin contest on Pragmatic Play slots.

Thunderpick Banking Method Evaluations

Thunderpick is one of the few sites in the industry to offer crypto-only banking methods to its users. I found 13 different options to choose from, led of course by Bitcoin, the most popular coin in the crypto space. There is a 1€ minimum deposit for players, which is lower than most competitors. There is also no mention of a maximum deposit, meaning that your only limitation is your budget.

All 13 deposit options can also be used for withdrawals. At most gambling sites I review, you often times can’t withdraw with the same method you deposited with. The minimum withdrawal of €10 and maximum of €250,000 is better than a lot of competitor sites you come across. As you can see in the table above, the minimum and maximum amounts are better than at established sites like MyBookie, BetOnline and BetUS.

If you’re not familiar with how to use crypto, don’t worry. Thunderpick’s blog has a section dedicated to helping players learn how to bet with crypto. The Thunderpick Mobile Experience

Thunderpick’s mobile offering is well-optimized on smartphones. I used a Pixel 4 for my review. Thunderpick also features a web app, which isn’t usually seen in the industry. You don’t find these apps at web stores. It’s an app that you can download right from their homepage. I think of it as another version of a shortcut to the site. Everything ran smoothly on my phone, and the entire games library seems to be present with the app. I could make all the bets I wanted on my phone. I played a few online slots games such as Wild Stars and Burning Ice (both of which had high RTPs), and there was no difference at all between mobile and desktop, whether I used portrait or landscape mode. The mobile experience here gets a resounding thumbs up from me.

Player Protection and Security at Thunderpick

Thunderpick’s safety measures stack up with many of the industry’s best. It is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. It also uses SSL certification to ensure your information is in good hands. I was impressed to find a Random Number Generator testing tool that players can use to prove fair game outcomes. I’ve never seen this before at an online gambling site. On their Provably Fair page, there is a hash calculator which allows you to test the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA). You will find this on the left-hand side of the page under the Provably Fair link. I found it to be a bit complicated, but if you understand crypto, you will know that this is a strong security measure to prove that their games are fair.

Additionally, Thunderpick has resources to help problem gamblers. They allow the disabling of certain features and provide a list of organizations for further support, such as GamCare. As much as anyone, the crypto and gaming communities value security, and Thunderpick take steps to adhere to this with the aforementioned SSL certificate, license from Curacao and the ability for two-factor authentication.

You can reach Thunderpick via email at service@cs.thunderpick.io. However, it’s much quicker to use the live chat feature. Quickly access live chat by clicking on the headset icon at the bottom of the screen near your bet slip. I asked a couple of questions regarding minimum and maximum deposits—the agent was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is no phone number, but the live chat feature is available to answer all questions. I should note that while live chat is available 24/7, you can only get it in English.

Thunderpick Sign-Up Process

The sign-up process is quick and simple at Thunderpick. I only needed to enter my full name and email to register, and then it was off to the races. I was betting within three minutes of signing up. Many crypto players are enticed by the anonymity it brings, and that also applies to Thunderpick players. There isn’t a lot of information needed to sign up and start betting.

If you’re into betting with crypto and esports, Thunderpick is the perfect online gambling site for you. Currently, there are more than enough banking methods to use at Thunderpick, and more are likely to be added in the future. The sheer amount of esports, casino and sports betting options will blow your mind, so you’ll have no problem finding something to wager on.

The mobile offering not working in landscape mode is something I was disappointed by. Also, those new to betting might find the setup to be busy. The homepage looks similar to something you would see on a stock-market page. This is something you will see a lot in the world of crypto. I didn’t have a problem with it, but a newcomer might. I would also like to see a higher welcome bonus. Some bettors might be turned off by the fact that everything is in Euros, but it is converted to USD to make it easier to understand when looking at your account balances. But overall, Thunderpick is a great online gambling site that stacks up well against the competition.
