Multiple teams are heavy favorites this week, including the Packers (-13) and the Rams (-13.5) on Sunday. The Ravens, Lions, and Chargers are also favored by at least a touchdown this week.
In arguably the most anticipated matchup of the week, Kansas City (5-3) are 2-point favorites against the Bills (5-2) in Buffalo.
The four teams with Week 9 bye weeks include:
- Cleveland Browns
- New York Jets
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baltimore Ravens vs. Miami Dolphins Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baltimore Ravens | -8 (-115) | -435 | Over 50 (-110) |
| Miami Dolphins | +8 (-105) | +325 | Under 50 (-110) |
The Ravens (2-5) look to get their second consecutive win against the Dolphins (2-6) in Miami on Thursday Night Football. Neither team’s season has started how they would have liked, but they both earned crucial wins last week.
Baltimore are 8-point favorites on TNF this week. The Ravens won last week despite Lamar Jackson’s absence. The quarterback is expected to return this week, and he has a history of putting up huge numbers against the Dolphins.
Miami overcame the odds last week for a surprise win in Atlanta. If they recreate that performance this week, the Dolphins should at least stay within the 8-point spread against a Ravens’ defense that is near the bottom of the league in points allowed.
However, Baltimore should be able to win this one against a Dolphins’ team that struggles on both sides of the ball.
Ravens vs. Dolphins NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Miami Dolphins +8 (-105)
- Moneyline Bet: Baltimore Ravens (-435)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 50 (-110)
Chicago Bears vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicago Bears | -2.5 (-120) | -150 | Over 52.5 (-110) |
| Cincinnati Bengals | +2.5 (+100) | +130 | Under 52.5 (-110) |
Chicago and Cincinnati are both coming off disappointing losses in Week 8. The Bears were thoroughly outplayed by a Tyler Huntley-led Ravens’ team, and the Bengals lost to the previously winless Jets despite leading by 15 in the fourth quarter.
The loss in Baltimore ended the Bears’ four-game winning streak. Despite their performance on Sunday, Chicago are 2.5-point road favorites this week in Cincy.
The Bengals’ defense allows 407.9 YPG and 31.6 PPG to opponents, the most in the NFL. Cincy’s porous defense is the perfect opponent for a Bears’ offense that is still finding its footing in year one under Ben Johnson.
Chicago also gives up over 350 YPG to opponents, so Ja’Marr Chase will have another massive day in the quick passing game. A big day from Chase will help cover the 52.5 total points, but the Bengals should drop their second consecutive game.
Bears vs. Bengals NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Chicago Bears -2.5 (-120)
- Moneyline Bet: Chicago Bears (-150)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 52.5 (-110)
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minnesota Vikings | +8.5 (-110) | +355 | Over 47.5 (-115) |
| Detroit Lions | -8.5 (-110) | -490 | Under 47.5 (-105) |
The only divisional matchup in Week 9 pits the NFC’s North’s Vikings (3-4) against the Lions (5-2). Detroit are 8.5-point home favorites against Minnesota this week.
Detroit was on a bye last week. While the Lions were off, the Vikings lost to the Chargers on TNF. During the game, Carson Wentz aggravated a shoulder injury that will require season-ending surgery.
With Wentz out, the Vikings will likely turn back to J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy was the starter at the beginning of the year, but has been out since Week 2 with an ankle injury.
Minnesota’s QB issues have hampered the Vikings’ offense this year, which is averaging 22.1 PPG and fewer than 300 total YPG. Detroit, for comparison, averages the eighth-most yards (357.3) and third-most points (30.7) this season.
This divisional matchup should be closer than 8.5 points, but the Vikings’ offensive issues will prevent them from upsetting this highly productive Lions’ team.
Vikings vs. Lions NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Minnesota Vikings +8.5 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Detroit Lions (-490)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 47.5 (-115)
Carolina Panthers vs. Green Bay Packers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carolina Panthers | +13 (-115) | +575 | Over 45 (-110) |
| Green Bay Packers | -13 (-105) | -900 | Under 49 (-110) |
The Packers’ dominant 35-25 win over the Steelers on SNF helped Green Bay maintain control of the number one seed in the NFC. Jordan Love and company are home this week, hosting the visiting Carolina Panthers.
Carolina lost in blowout fashion last week, falling 40-9 at home to the Bills. Before the loss, the Panthers had won three games in a row and were undefeated at home.
Their struggles at the line of scrimmage were a major factor in Carolina’s loss last week. Rico Dowdle led the team in rushing, but was held to just 54 yards on the ground. Buffalo, conversely, racked up 245 rushing yards, including a 216-yard performance by James Cook.
The Panthers have no chance to win this game if they cannot establish the run. Green Bay allows 110+ rushing YPG, so Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard should have productive days at the office if they get enough carries. An effective day rushing could decide the spread, but the Packers should get the win this Sunday in Lambeau.
Panthers vs. Packers NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Carolina Panthers +13 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Green Bay Packers (-900)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 45 (-110)
Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Denver Broncos | +1 (-115) | -110 | Over 40 (-110) |
| Houston Texans | -1 (-105) | -110 | Under 40 (-110) |
Two of the best defenses in the NFL square off this weekend in Houston. The Texans allow a league-low 14.7 PPG, while allowing the fewest total yards (266.9 YPG) to opposing offenses.
Denver’s defense is also among the best in the league, surrendering just 18.9 points and 281.4 yards per game, both of which rank fifth in the NFL. Adding to Denver’s fearsome defense is its league-high 36 sacks.
The moneyline is listed as a pick’em, but the Texans are 1-point favorites in the latest ATS odds. Bovada lists the over/under at 40 total points in this battle of top defenses.
Houston’s offense had one of its most productive games of the season last week, putting up 26 points against an injury-depleted 49ers’ defense. It has tied for the second-most points scored by the Texans this year.
Denver could be without Patrick Surtain II, but its defense will still be much better than what the Texans faced last week. The Broncos can shut down the Texans’ struggling offense, which only averages 21.9 PPG, and Denver should get the win in a close battle.
Broncos vs. Texans NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Denver Broncos +1 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Denver Broncos (-110)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 40 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons vs. New England Patriots Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta Falcons | +5.5 (-110) | +210 | Over 45 (-105) |
| New England Patriots | -5.5 (-110) | -250 | Under 45 (-115) |
The Falcons’ up-and-down season continued last week as Atlanta lost at home 34-10 to Miami (2-6). Atlanta will try to get back to .500 this weekend with a road matchup against the Patriots in Foxborough.
New England is one of the hottest teams in the league, winning five straight games. They have held every opponent during that streak, including the Bills, to 20 points or fewer. Now, the Pats are 5.5-point favorites at home this week against the visiting Falcons.
Atlanta has lost by double digits in back-to-back games. A significant part of the Falcons’ struggles on the scoreboard is their inability to run the ball effectively. Bijan Robinson has just 23 carries for 65 yards over the last two weeks.
The Falcons’ best chance to win is by giving the ball to Robinson early and often. A strong day from Bijan on the ground will help Atlanta keep it tight, but Drake Maye and the Pats should come away with their sixth consecutive win this weekend.
Falcons vs. Patriots NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Atlanta Falcons +5.5 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: New England Patriots (-250)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 45 (-105)
San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| San Francisco 49ers | -3 (+100) | -150 | Over 49 (-115) |
| New York Giants | +3 (-120) | +130 | Under 49 (-105) |
Speaking oThe 49ers and the Giants both suffered costly losses last week. San Francisco struggled to move the ball in Houston, earning a third loss in the last five games. The defeat dropped the 49ers from first to third in the NFC West.
New York also lost, falling 38-20 to the Eagles in Philadelphia. During the game, rookie sensation Cam Skattebo dislocated his ankle. Skattebo will join Malik Nabers on season-ending IR.
With their top two offensive weapons out, it comes as no surprise that New York are 3-point underdogs at home this week.
San Francisco has had more than its fair share of injury issues, too. One of the few starters who are not hurt on the 49ers’ roster is Christian McCaffrey. The dual-threat running back leads the NFL with 196 total touches this year and is second in scrimmage yards with 1,049.
A healthy CMC is all the 49ers should need to beat this Giants’ team. The G-Men give up the fourth-most YPG to opponents, including nearly 150 rushing YPG. They also allow 25 PPG and have given up 71 total points in the last five quarters.
Both teams are riddled with injuries, but CMC can carry the 49ers to another win this weekend.
49ers vs. Giants NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: San Francisco 49ers -3 (+100)
- Moneyline Bet: San Francisco 49ers (-150)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 49 (-105)
Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indianapolis Colts | -3 (-115) | -175 | Over 50.5 (-105) |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | +3 (-105) | +150 | Under 50.5 (-115) |
Indianapolis (7-1) looks to maintain a firm grip on the AFC’s top seed with another win this week. The good news for Colts’ fans is that Indy faces the Steelers this weekend. Pittsburgh is still the top team in the AFC North, for now, but has lost back-to-back prime-time games.
The Steelers’ offense averages 25 PPG, tied for the 11th-most in the league. Unfortunately, Pittsburgh’s defense is putting together one of the worst seasons seen in the Steel City in decades.
Through seven games, the Steelers’ defense has allowed the third-most total YPG (386), the most passing YPG (273.3), and opposing QBs have completed 67.5% of their passes. Pittsburgh has a net-zero scoring differential this season, scoring and allowing exactly 175 points this season.
Indy, on the other hand, has the highest-scoring offense in the league at 33.8 PPG. Pittsburgh could not stop the Colts last year, and Indy are much better now. They should win this game by double digits and cover most of the 50.5 total points.
Colts vs. Steelers NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Indianapolis Colts -3 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Indianapolis Colts (-175)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 50.5 (-105)
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles Chargers | -9.5 (-115) | -550 | Over 43.5 (-110) |
| Tennessee Titans | +9.5 (-105) | +390 | Under 43.5 (-110) |
The Chargers kicked off Week 8 with a 37-10 win over the Vikings on TNF. In addition to the win, playing on Thursday also gave Los Angeles extra time to prepare for its Week 9 matchup against the Titans (1-7).
Momentum and rest are two major factors that have led the Chargers to be listed as 9.5-point favorites for this game.
Tennessee is winless at home this year and already fired their head coach. Six of the Titans’ seven losses have come against AFC teams, and that is unlikely to change this weekend.
The Chargers are tied for the eighth-most sacks this season, with 22 through eight games. Tennessee, for comparison, has allowed rookie Cam Ward to be sacked 34 times, the most of any QB in the league this season.
LA are working through injuries at the running back position, but the Chargers appear to have found a weapon in rookie Oronde Gadsden II. The 6’5 TE has 19 catches for 309 yards and two TDs in his last three games. Another big day from Gadsden will be instrumental in LA’s ability to win and cover as a heavy favorite in Tennessee this weekend.
Chargers vs. Titans NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Los Angeles Chargers -9.5 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Los Angeles Chargers (-550)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 43.5 (-110)
New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Orleans Saints | +13.5 (-110) | +625 | Over 44.5 (-105) |
| Los Angeles Rams | -13.5 (-110) | -1000 | Under 44.5 (-115) |
The other LA team is also a heavy favorite this week. Matthew Stafford and the Rams are 13.5-point favorites this Sunday as they welcome the Saints to SoFi. Adding to the intrigue of this game is New Orleans’ decision to start rookie Tyler Shough.
This is Shough’s first start of his NFL career. He took over for Spencer Rattler last week after the latter was benched in the third quarter of last week’s 23-3 loss to the Buccaneers. Shough completed 17 of his 30 pass attempts for 128 yards and one INT in his limited action.
A full week to prepare should give Shough more of a fighting chance this week. However, LA’s defense is one of the best in the NFL. The Rams were on a bye last week, but they are still second in the NFL with 26 total sacks.
LA is also third in points allowed (16.7 PPG) and has forced 10 turnovers this season. A rested Rams’ defense should be able to contain a Saints team that averages under 300 YPG. However, I think Shough will provide enough of a spark to help New Orleans keep it close for most of the game.
Saints vs. Rams NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: New Orleans Saints +13.5 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Los Angeles Rams (-1000)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 44.5 (-110)
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jacksonville Jaguars | -3 (-115) | -170 | Over 45 (-110) |
| Las Vegas Raiders | +3 (-105) | +145 | Under 45 (-110) |
Jacksonville and Las Vegas each had a bye last week to prepare for their Week 9 matchup. The Jaguars entered the bye with back-to-back losses. Las Vegas also needed the bye after a 31-0 blowout loss to KC in Week 7. The Jags are 3-point road favorites in this AFC matchup.
Despite their two-game skids, Jacksonville’s defense is one of the best units in the league in terms of forcing turnovers. The Jags have the second-most interceptions (10) and second-most total turnovers (14) in the NFL.
Raiders’ QB Geno Smith, conversely, is tied for the most INTs this season with 10. He has thrown a pick in five of his seven starts and has three multi-INT games this year.
Smith did not throw a pick in the loss to KC, but he also completed only 10 passes for 67 yards. The ferocious Jags’ defense will force Smith into multiple turnovers this week and should lead Jacksonville to the win.
Jaguars vs. Raiders NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Jacksonville Jaguars -3 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Jacksonville Jaguars (-170)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 45 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kansas City Chiefs | -2 (-110) | -130 | Over 52.5 (-110) |
| Buffalo Bills | +2 (-110) | +110 | Under 52.5 (-110) |
In a game everyone will be watching this week, the Chiefs are 2-point favorites over the Bills in Buffalo. KC has won four of its last five games, scoring at least 28 points in each of the last five weeks.
The Bills, on the other hand, earned their first win in nearly a month with a 40-9 win over the Panthers in Carolina.
Buffalo typically plays well against Kansas City in the regular season. Josh Allen is 4-1 against Patrick Mahomes in their five regular-season matchups. However, the Bills’ defense is not prepared for a fully healthy Chiefs’ passing attack.
Mahomes has three passing TDs in three straight games. He has also thrown for at least 250 yards in five straight contests. Mahomes should carve up the Bills’ defense this weekend as KC covers the 2-point spread on Sunday.
Chiefs vs. Bills NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Kansas City Chiefs -2 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-130)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 52.5 (-110)
Seattle Seahawks vs. Washington Commanders Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seattle Seahawks | -3 (-115) | -170 | Over 47 (-105) |
| Washington Commanders | +3 (-105) | +145 | Under 47 (-115) |
The Commanders play their third prime-time game in four weeks with a home date against the visiting Seahawks. Seattle is favored by a field goal on the road this week.
Washington has lost four of their last five games, but two of those defeats came without Jayden Daniels under center. The reigning Rookie of the Year has battled injuries this year, and the Commanders’ offense has suffered as a result.
Daniels is not the only Washington player hampered by injuries. Terry McLaurin attempted to return from a quad injury in Week 8, but reaggravated the issue and could be out this week. LT Laremy Tunsil (hamstring) could also miss the game.
Seattle has been a great road team under Mike Macdonald. The Seahawks are 3-0 on the road this year and 10-1 since Macdonald became the head coach. Their success away from the Pacific Northwest should continue this week as Seattle is in a position to pick up a crucial road win in the NFC on Sunday Night Football.
Seahwaks vs. Commanders NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Seattle Seahawks -3 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Seattle Seahawks (-170)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 45 (-110)
Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arizona Cardinals | +2.5 (+100) | +125 | Over 54 (-110) |
| Dallas Cowboys | -2.5 (-120) | -145 | Under 54 (-110) |
This week’s Monday Night Football matchup pits the Cardinals (2-5) against the Cowboys (3-4-1) in Dallas. The Cowboys are favored by 2.5 for this prime-time matchup. Despite having a worse record, the Cardinals (-1) have a better scoring differential than the Cowboys (-4).
Dallas is 2-0-1 at home this year, and they have scored at least 40 points in every game at Jerry World. However, they have also given up 37+ points and gone to OT in two of their three home games this year.
Adding to the Cowboys’ struggles this year is their soft defense, which gives up over 400 YPG. They have allowed the second-most PPG (31.3), fourth-most rushing YPG (146), and the second-most passing YPG (258.6) this season.
Arizona should have Kyler Murray (foot) back under center for this game. Murray is 2-0 against Dallas in his career, and, dating back to his time in college and high school, he is 9-0 in games at AT&T Stadium.
His undefeated streak is in jeopardy, but Murray should give the Cardinals a fighting chance against the Cowboys’ weak defense. Arizona might not win, but they should keep the game close in another potential shootout in Dallas.
Cardinals vs. Cowboys NFL Week 9 Best Bets:
- Points Spread Bet: Arizona Cardinals +2.5 (+100)
- Moneyline Bet: Dallas Cowboys (-145)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 54 (-110)
