KIA Tigers vs. SSG Landers: SSG (-125)

The KIA Tigers and SSG Landers square off in the first of three games at Incheon SSG Landers Field. The Landers are coming off a thrilling 4-2 in extra innings over the Kiwoom Heroes. Meanwhile, the Tigers blanked the KT Wiz in a 5-0 finish behind the strong arm of Adam Oller.

However, I don’t expect the Tigers to get the same results on the mound with Yang Hyeon-jong in a starting role. The 37-year-old veteran, who has spent every year with the Tigers since 2007, is beginning to show signs of fatigue.

He enters with an ERA of 5.27 and a 1.60 WHIP, which puts him on pace for one of the worst seasons of his career. Additionally, Yang has gotten pummeled by the SSG Landers. Note that Yang owns an 8.38 ERA and a 0-2 record against the Landers in 2025.

Expect the Landers to get to Yang, while starter Kim Kwang-hyun should have the advantage over the Tigers’ offense. Kim is in solid form, with a 3.84 ERA and 1.32 WHIP across 14 starts. He’s also in top form versus the Tigers, posting a 1.29 ERA this season.

Kiwoom Heroes vs. Hanwha Eagles: Under 7.5 (-120)

Look for a pitching duel at Hanwha Life Eagles Park on Friday! We should have a tightly contested matchup with Raul Alcántara and Cody Ponce on the mound. Both hurlers have been in fantastic form and should engage in a duel here.

Alcántara heads to the bump holding an ERA of 1.35 and a 2-1 record. He managed to recently return after an injury hampered him a season ago. The former A’s pitcher posted a 4.76 ERA in his worst of four years in the KBO. In 2023, Alcántara notched a 2.67 ERA as a healthy pitcher.

He has a clean bill of health and is dealing through 20 innings of work. Expect Alcántara to put the clamps on the Eagles’ bats, but getting run support will be difficult. With a team batting average of .231 and 244 RBIs, the Heroes are dead last offensively, and in the standings at 21-52-2.

The onus will be on the Eagles’ starter to go deep into this matchup. Ponce may very well do it, though. He’s been fantastic in his first year in the KBO. The former Pittsburgh Pirate enters with a 2.16 ERA and 0.86 WHIP through 96 innings of work. He’s allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of his previous 11 outings!

The way I see it, the under 7.5 is a great option between the Heroes and Eagles on Friday.
