There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we selected our KBO baseball picks each day.

Kiwoom Heroes vs. Hanwha Eagles: Hanwha -1.5 (-151)

The Kiwoom Heroes are at Hanwha Eagles Life Park for a three-game tilt this weekend. It’s another tough assignment for the Eagles, but that has been commonplace for the Heroes in 2025. The Heroes enter at 21-52-2 following a 4-2 loss to the Landers on Thursday.

After yesterday’s matchup was rained out, the Heroes send Jung Hyun-woo to the mound. The 19-year-old rookie has been in sharp form and offering the Heroes a bit of hope for the future. Through five starts and 24.1 innings, Jung has posted an ERA of 3.33 and a 1.68 WHIP.

It’s a solid start for the young hurler, but he has to do a better job of holding runners off the bases. Despite a solid 3.33 ERA, Jung has allowed 27 hits and 14 walks for a 1.68 WHIP. He’s going to pay for that soon, and the Eagles have the bats to clear the bases.

Ace Cody Ponce heads to the mound with an ERA of 2.16 and perfect 9-0 record! In his first season in the KBO, Ponce has dominated the competition in South Korea. That includes the Heroes, who recorded just three and one run against Ponce in six innings on May 10.

The Heroes rank dead last in batting average and RBIs, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. As one of the best KBO picks today, I suggest backing the Eagles on the runline!

The Bet
Hanwha Eagles -1.5

Samsung Lions vs. Lotte Giants: Over 9.5 (-122)

The Lions and Giants clash in what should be a high-scoring matchup at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan. I don’t have the most faith in either starter, so there should be plenty of fireworks.

Choi Won-tae is struggling mightily on the mound for the Lions. The 28-year-old former LG Twin enters with a 5.18 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across 13 starts. Choi’s numbers have ticked up since posting a 3.75 ERA in 2022. He recorded an ERA of 4.30 and 4.26 in the next two seasons, and tailing off too much this year.

He has been rocked against the Giants in two matchups in 2025. Choi notched a 7.88 ERA through eight innings on the bump. Expect the Giants to do the same, as they’ve figured out how to exploit Choi’s poo velocity this season. However, Giants’ starter Park Se-woong doesn’t have a great history against the Lions.

Park has an 8.71 ERA in five poor innings versus the Lions. The 29-year-old hasn’t been at his best as of late, either, with an ERA of 4.34 and a 1.40 WHIP. He’s coming off three horrid performances, allowing 18 earned runs in his previous three starts! In his latest start versus the Lions on May 29, Park finished with an 8.44 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.

The Giants are first in the KBO with a team batting average of .284, while the Lions are second at .268! Additionally, the Lions are first by a wide margin in home runs with 82. So, the over looks like the play here for our free KBO picks today!
