Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 22
There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we selected our KBO baseball picks each day.
Kiwoom Heroes vs. Samsung Lions: Samsung -1.5 (-120)
Samsung Lions get the nod on the runline over the struggling Kiwoom Heroes in a matchup loaded with upside for the home team.
The Heroes sit rooted at the bottom of the KBO standings, hitting just .242 as a team while their pitching staff posts a lofty 5.51 ERA.
On the mound, Yang Chang-seop brings a much steadier presence, owning a solid 4.32 ERA across 24 outings and maintaining a respectable 3.60 ERA when facing the Heroes.
He offers a sharp contrast to Kiwoom’s starter, Ha Yeong‑min, who enters this clash sporting a concerning 6.30 ERA and a winless 0‑2 mark against Seoul’s Lions this season.

Samsung’s potent offense adds another appealing layer with a league‑leading 124 home runs, bolstering their firepower. With the combination of reliable pitching and knockout bats, you get all the ingredients for the Lions to cover the runline against a beleaguered Kiwoom squad.
SSG Landers vs. Hanwha Eagles: Hanwha -1.5 (-121)
Cody Ponce has been nearly untouchable in his first KBO campaign, and that’s especially bad news for the SSG Landers. The Hanwha ace brings a flawless 15-0 record into this start with a minuscule 1.61 ERA, and he’s owned the Landers with a 0.41 ERA in three previous meetings.
SSG counters with Choi Min-jun, who’s posted a respectable 3.67 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but comes in with just four starts all season. His lack of endurance as a converted reliever raises serious concerns against a Hanwha team backed by elite starting pitching.
Hanwha’s @Cody_Ponce48 pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up only 3 hits, with 9K’s to help the Eagles beat Lotte 2-0.
Ponce became the fastest KBO pitcher to reach 200K’s in a season and he also picked up his KBO record 15th consecutive win since the season began. https://t.co/qB21Imfcyk

With Ponce expected to dominate and Choi unlikely to carry a heavy load, this matchup shapes up as a controlled, low-scoring affair. However, the runline is on the right side at this solid price.
