Joshua will be the most physically imposing boxer Paul has ever faced. The 34-year-old Brit holds advantages in every category, including a significant edge in height and reach.

Since dropping consecutive fights to Oleksandr Usyk in 2022, I’ve seen Joshua as a few steps behind the top-ranked heavyweights. Nevertheless, preparing for Paul likely won’t require a grueling training camp.
If Joshua arrives in decent shape and doesn’t completely underestimate his opponent, he should win easily. His power and size remain formidable regardless of his recent form.
Also, the potential embarrassment from losing against a foe like Paul should fuel Joshua to show up.

Up to this point, Paul has carefully selected his opponents wisely. Aside from a loss against Tommy Fury, Paul has made sure that he hasn’t fought a boxer that he knew it’d be a guaranteed loss.
In his latest bouts, Paul defeated a 58-year-old Mike Tyson and over the hill Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr. was fairly decent in his day, but he’s gassed at this point of his career at 39 years old. That said, it was a more impressive win than Tyson.

Since losing to Fury in a split decision in 2023, Paul hasn’t been threatened against Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland, Michael Perry, Tyson, and Chavez Jr. Diaz is a former MMA fighter, while these rest were either regional fighters at best or completely washed-up opponents seeking a payday.
Motivation to win this fight has to be on Paul’s side, though. He wants to prove that he can compete with some of the best boxers in the world. Paul has been adamant about showing the world he’s a legitimate boxer and isn’t simply doing it for fame and money.
A fight against Joshua will certainly present an opportunity to prove he’s legit, but winning it’s easier said than done. Paul lost the only fight against an opponent that wasn’t at a physical disadvantage because of his size or age, so beating Joshua looks borderline impossible.

Simply put, if Joshua struggles or unexpectedly loses this fight, it would leave a noticeable blemish on his Hall of Fame career. He’d be remembered as the boxer who couldn’t finish a YouTuber.
Given this, I believe Joshua will arrive highly motivated. That alone should be enough for him to overwhelm Paul and win comfortably, though I don’t expect him to immediately go for the knockout.
The fight will likely begin as more of a sparring session for the first two or three rounds before Joshua decides to end it. He should be able to finish this bout almost at will, but expect him to make it seem competitive at first. Joshua’s knockout power is enough to capitalize on any defensive lapse from Paul at any time.
