Best WNBA Predictions Today (With Reasoning), July 20
There are important things to know before betting on the WNBA. Fortunately, if you can’t do your own research, you can see exactly how we arrived at each of our WNBA picks today and the key factors that influenced our analysis.
New York Liberty vs. Dallas Wings (+150)
The Liberty (13-12) are in rough shape right now. New York has dropped four straight games. The injury list is growing with Satou Sabally, Leonie Fiebich, and Marine Johannes are all sidelined, leaving the defense exposed and the roster stretched thin. When you’re missing that much talent on the defensive end, it’s hard to stop anyone, let alone a Wings’ team that’s been rolling.

Dallas (17-8) has won six games in a row and their offense is clicking on all cylinders. Yes, Paige Bueckers is out tonight. But the Wings don’t need her to beat a banged-up Liberty squad. Jessica Shepard, Arike Ogunbowale, and Azzi Fudd give Dallas more than enough firepower to keep the winning streak alive. The moneyline pays +150, which means a $100 bet returns $150 in profit. That’s real value on a team playing this well.
The public money may be on New York at WNBA betting sites because of the brand name, but the sharp play here is clearly Dallas. Backing a team on a six-game winning streak against an injury-riddled opponent at plus money is exactly the kind of spot experienced bettors look for. Don’t overthink it.
Washington Mystics vs. Golden State Valkyries -8 (-112)
Golden State (19-7) has won nine games in a row and owns the best defense in the league, and it isn’t particularly close as they allow 6.5 fewer points per game than Minnesota. That kind of defensive dominance doesn’t just win games, it controls margins. When a team is suffocating opponents on that end of the floor night after night, covering a spread becomes a realistic expectation, not just a hope.

Washington (12-12), meanwhile, is trending in the wrong direction. The Mystics have dropped two straight games, their offense is regressing, and they are 0-2 straight up against Golden State this season. A struggling offense running into the league’s stingiest defense is a recipe for a blowout, not a backdoor cover.
Eight points is a number that can feel like a lot to lay, but the Valkyries have earned the right to be trusted here. The juice is minimal at -112, and the matchup data fully supports backing Golden State to win big.
