LG Twins vs. Kiwoom Heroes: Twins (-130)
The Twins have a strong advantage in this matchup, particularly with Carlos Carrasco making his KBO debut. Facing the league’s weakest offense gives the former MLB veteran an ideal opportunity to make a strong first impression.
Carrasco is looking to rebound after a difficult stint with Atlanta, where he posted a 5.94 ERA across eight starts. However, his experience at the highest level gives LG plenty of reason to believe he can find success in Korea. The matchup is especially favorable with Kiwoom’s offense ranking last in the KBO with a .244 batting average and 380 RBIs.

The Heroes counter with An Woo-jin, who has been respectable this season with a 3.70 ERA. However, he’s entering this matchup on shaky form after allowing six runs across his last two starts. That could spell trouble against an LG lineup that has consistently produced throughout the season.
The offensive advantage also belongs to the Twins. LG is hitting .270 as a team and has accumulated 491 RBIs, giving Carrasco considerably more run support than An is likely to receive. If Carrasco can limit Kiwoom’s already-struggling offense, LG should have enough firepower to take control.
Hanwha Eagles vs. Doosan Bears: Bears (-125)
The Bears have the edge in this matchup thanks to Gwak Been’s outstanding form at home. While Hanwha counters with a quality starter in Wang Yan-cheng, Doosan’s ace has been one of the KBO’s most reliable pitchers and gives the Bears the advantage in a tight pitching matchup.
Been enters with a 2.66 ERA, ranking among the KBO’s best, and has allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven of his last eight starts. His ability to consistently limit opposing offenses makes him especially appealing in a matchup where the margins could be slim.

Hanwha counters with Wang Yan-cheng, who has also been dependable with a 3.34 ERA. In fact, Wang has been excellent against Doosan this season, so this should be a competitive pitching battle rather than an easy win for either side. Recent KBO coverage also notes Wang’s success against Doosan, including a 2-0 record and 1.47 ERA in three appearances against the Bears this year.
That makes Gwak’s home-field advantage and recent consistency particularly important. If he continues limiting damage at his current rate, Doosan should have enough opportunities offensively to pull out a close victory.
