Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 19

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

KIA Tigers vs. Hanwha Eagles: Eagles (-165)

The Hanwha Eagles have a strong advantage in this matchup and are the preferred moneyline play against the KIA Tigers. Owen White has been excellent against KIA this season, while Tigers’ starter Keisho Shirakawa has struggled significantly in this matchup.

White enters with a 3.15 ERA and 1.22 WHIP and has been particularly effective against the Tigers. He is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA in two starts against KIA in 2026, giving Hanwha confidence that he can once again limit the Tigers’ offense.

Shirakawa has had the opposite experience against the Eagles. He’s 0-2 with a 9.45 ERA in two starts against Hanwha this season. His overall numbers are also concerning, with a 4.87 ERA and 1.58 WHIP, leaving him vulnerable against an Eagles’ lineup that should be able to take advantage.

The starting pitching matchup is therefore heavily tilted toward Hanwha. White has consistently contained KIA, while Shirakawa has struggled both against the Eagles specifically and throughout the season.

If White delivers another quality outing, Hanwha should have enough offense to take control for one of the best KBO bets today.

SSG Landers vs. Samsung Lions: Lions -1.5 (-115)

The Samsung Lions are the preferred runline play against the SSG Landers, with Austin Voth in position for a bounce-back performance and Takeda Shota struggling badly for SSG.

Voth showed promise in his KBO debut, allowing just two runs across five innings. Although his last two appearances have been more difficult, the right-hander has an opportunity to regain his form against a Landers’ lineup that should give him room to settle in. A return to the form he showed in his debut would put Samsung in a strong position to win comfortably.

SSG counters with Takeda Shota, who has struggled throughout the 2026 campaign. Takeda carries a 7.42 ERA and 1.82 WHIP through 19 starts, with his recent form particularly concerning. In his latest outing, he was hammered for nine earned runs over just five innings.

That recent performance highlights the potential for Samsung’s offense to create separation. If the Lions can pressure Takeda early, they should have opportunities to build a multi-run advantage before the Landers can respond.

Voth’s bounce-back potential combined with Takeda’s ongoing struggles makes the Lions the more appealing side on the runline. Samsung should be able to capitalize on SSG’s vulnerable starter and secure a comfortable victory.
