Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 29
There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:
Kiwoom Heroes vs. Doosan Bears: Bears -1.5 (+125)
The Doosan Bears offer excellent value at plus money on the -1.5 runline against the Kiwoom Heroes. Ace Gwak Been gives Doosan a major advantage on the mound, making the Bears an appealing choice to win by at least two runs.
Gwak enters with an outstanding 2.33 ERA and 1.07 WHIP and has established himself as one of the KBO’s top pitchers. He’s been nearly unhittable lately, allowing one or no runs in four of his last five starts and two or fewer in five consecutive outings.
Been Gwak continued his dominance this weekend. He went 7 shutout innings with 8 K and just 1 hit allowed. He leads the KBO with a 2.33 ERA and 161 strikeouts. If he keeps current pace, he’d be the first Korean-born starter to post a sub-2.40 ERA and 10.7 K/9 in KBO history pic.twitter.com/do8LgtrR3t

His dominance extends across a larger sample, with Gwak allowing one or no runs in nine of his last 11 appearances. That gives Doosan a magnificent opportunity to control the game from the mound and create separation against a struggling Kiwoom lineup.
The Heroes rank last in the KBO with a .245 team batting average and just 439 RBIs, so they could have significant trouble generating enough offense against Gwak. Kiwoom also sends An Woo-jin to the mound, and he’s been hit hard by Doosan this season, posting a 7.88 ERA against the Bears in 2026.
With Gwak in dominant form and Kiwoom struggling offensively, Doosan has a strong path to winning comfortably. At +125, getting the Bears at plus money to win by two or more runs offers particularly appealing value for one of the best KBO picks today.
KT Wiz vs. Samsung Lions: Wiz (+120)
The KT Wiz offer strong value as plus-money underdogs against the Samsung Lions in a matchup between two of the KBO’s top teams. While Samsung is favored at -155, this looks much closer on paper with Logan Allen matching up well against Chris Paddack.
Allen has been excellent this season, posting a 2.91 ERA and 5-1 record across 10 starts. He’s allowed three or fewer earned runs in every outing and has surrendered two or fewer in five of his last six starts. That consistency gives the Wiz a strong foundation against Samsung.

Allen has also handled the Lions effectively, recording a 3.00 ERA against them in 2026. That’s particularly encouraging given the quality of Samsung’s lineup.
The Wiz also have plenty of offensive firepower behind him. KT ranks second in the KBO with a .278 team batting average, giving Allen reliable run support against a strong Samsung team.
With Allen pitching consistently, his success against the Lions and KT’s potent offense, the Wiz have a legitimate chance to win this game outright. At +120, the underdog price provides attractive value in what should be a competitive matchup.
