There is a solid group of nominees for Album of the Year, led by Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind (-600), which got to eighth on the Billboard 200. Megan Moroney’s Am I Okay? (+450) is next,

Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken (+600) is in the mix, and he continues to fuse country music with hip-hop sensibilities. The album reached the top of both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, along with Zach Top’s Cold Beer and Country Music (+800), and Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion (+800). Despite Malone reaching the top of the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts, this is his first "pure country" album, so that works against him.

The album is very good, but I don’t think the Academy will reward his first try as it might seem like a gimmick. Malone's album, along with Whirlwind, was nominated for Best Country Album at <a href="https://www.thesportsgeek.com/blog/grammy-awards-odds/">the Grammys</a>, where they were beaten out by Beyonce's Cowboy Carter.

Wilson had a great ACM Awards in 2024, winning Entertainer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. I expect her to add Album of the Year to her resume at ACM Awards odds of -600. Wilson's ACM Awards odds have shortened tremendously as she was +100 on April 10! Jelly Roll offers a higher return than Wilson, and the two won Music Event of the Year at last year’s ceremony for their remix of his “Save Me” record.

However, Wilson's album is amazing and should win this one. Still, at -600, it's not worth a wager.

Morgan Wallen (-500) might be the hottest country artist on the planet right now, and even an impromptu early walkout at “Saturday Night Live” hasn’t hurt his standing in country music.

Chris Stapleton (+650) is next in a loaded category, followed by Cody Johnson (+1000), Wilson (+1000), Jelly Roll (+1000), and Luke Combs (+1000). Kelsea Ballerini (+1200) brings up the rear. Of this year’s nominees, Wilson (2024) and Stapleton (2023) are past winners.

I'm backing Wilson at +1000 to repeat in this category in an upset over Wallen! The return is too good to pass up, and Wilson had a fantastic 2024. Wallen's album, I’m The Problem, doesn’t come out until May 16. That album will be one of the most popular releases of 2025.

However, that shouldn't affect this year's awards which are based on 2024. Let's take the Whirlwind hit-maker at +1000!

Kelsea Ballerini (+240) was a sizable favorite in this category over Wilson (-200), Kacey Musgraves (+550), Ella Langley (+600), and Moroney (+600). However, the ACM Awards odds have flipped in the last three weeks! Ballerini’s Patterns topped the Top Country Albums chart, and got as high as fourth on the Billboard 200. She is still looking for her first win in this category, but this is her eighth nomination.

Wilson has won the last two years, while Musgraves won back in 2019. Langley and Moroney are nominated for the first time, and I’ll probably cross them off the list.

That leaves Ballerini, Wilson, and Musgraves, and I’m going to take Wilson! Whirlwind was one of the top albums of the year, and while Patterns is also good, I’m leaning on the fact that Whirlwind was nominated in that ACM Award category.

At -200, you can still get a bit of a return on her, so let’s take Lainey Wilson to win her third straight Female Artist of the Year award!

Wallen (-200) is the considerable favorite here over last year's winner, Stapleton (+280), Jelly Roll (+450), Luke Combs (+600), and Johnson (+600). Stapleton also won this award in 2016, 2018, and 2022. Wallen won in 2023, while Jelly Roll and Johnson are looking for their first win.

Again, Wallen's album is going to dominate 2025. But I'm taking Jelly Roll at +450 as he has also been in the spotlight for the past year, and Beautifully Broken was a hit album, not only in country music, but in the mainstream. Let's go with Jelly Roll at +450 for a nice return in these ACM Awards odds!
