2024 American Idol Betting Odds and Predictions

With auditions wrapped up and with the Top 14 announced, you can find 2024 American Idol betting odds for all contestants. If you are an avid fan of the show, it’s time to put your knowledge to the test.

I’m here to help with my analysis of the favorites and American Idol Season 22 predictions. Let’s begin with an overview of the odds of the top American Idol betting sites.

American Idol Season 22 Betting Odds

We will be adding our updated American Idol odds, analysis, and predictions after each episode here, so you will continue to have fresh information as the season progresses!

Here are the odds, courtesy of BetOnline, after the Top 7 results:

CONTESTANTODDS
Will Moseley-300
Julia Gagnon+320
Abi Carter+450
Triston Harper+600
Emmy Russell+800
Jack Blocker+1000
McKenna Breinholt+1000

Important: if you don’t see odds when you visit the bookmaker, that’s usually because the show is currently running or there was an episode in the previous 12-24 hours. The oddsmakers usually need a day to process the events and update their American Idol odds after each episode.

And, just like that, American Idol Season 22 is down to just seven contestants! Following back-to-back episodes on Sunday and Monday, three singers were eliminated and sent packing.

Country singer-songwriter Will Moseley’s (-300) American Idol odds catapulted after the latest episode. Currently, at -300 odds, he is the odds-on favorite to win American Idol Season 22.

As the betting favorite, Moseley has an implied probability to win of 75%. Do you agree high odds of winning? After last week’s Top 12 results show, Moseley had +220 odds to win American Idol Season 22.

Put differently, Moseley’s implied chance to win American Idol skyrocketed from 31.3% to 75%! Julia Gagnon (+320) and Abi Carter’s (+450) odds regressed slightly, but remain in play to win this season.

American Idol Seasons 22 Top Contenders

The American Idol Season 22 winner odds reveal three main contenders have emerged out of the Top 20.

Although the odds do not always point to the winner, they are a great barometer for how things will play out.

Let’s dive into the latest prices and my complete analysis of the top contenders:

Triston Harper

Many successful country artists were initially noticed as early as their teenage years. Some go on to have decades-long careers.

Could a 15-year-old from McIntosh, AL, be the next on that list? If Harper has his way, then he’ll win American Idol and move on to rise through the country music charts.

Seemingly mature beyond his years, Harper lists Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash as his musical influences. The youngster has a unique approach to country music that is difficult to emulate.

While he isn’t the second coming of Elvis or Cash, Harper’s style, voice, and stage presence are catching the attention of the judges and American voters. He even received a vote of approval from guest mentor Jelly Roll.

The question is whether Harper’s country sound appeal to a wide voter base? He’s different from the other top contenders, so that should be an advantage.

Abi Carter (+450)

California native Abi Carter immediately made a lasting impression during her first audition. Performing Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, Carter’s rendition blew away the judges and got her an easy golden ticket to Hollywood.

Carter remained in the judge’s good graces after she went to the piano and showcased her versatility. The 21-year-old sang a unique rendition of My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade”.

Carter’s effort received rave reviews from the judging panel and the voters. She cruised to the Top 14 and appears to be comfortable moving forward. Her deep vocal range and ability to slow it down or speed up will resonate with the audience.

This past week, Carter belted out Yebba’s “My Mind”, once again scoring high marks. Transitioning from “Welcome to the Black Parade” to “My Mind” ensured that Carter’s versatility was on full display.

After a pitchy start, she was able to settle in and hit her spots. I preferred her audition and “Welcome to the Black Parade”, than her effort on Yebba’s song.

Nevertheless, her deep range will likely connect with voters more times than not in subsequent weeks. Those songs tend to stick out with voters in the later rounds. She just needs the right song selection and could be an easy choice for Top 3!

Will Moseley (+500)

Will Moseley is another country singer in American Idol Season 22. Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old, who resembles a younger Chris Stapleton, sang one of his songs to perfection.

Will Moseley is another country singer in American Idol Season 22. Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old, who resembles a younger Chris Stapleton, sang one of his songs to perfection.

The native of Georgia opted for an original song in his audition to the judges. It’s often a big gamble to go with an original song in the audition, but Moseley received top grades.

The former college football player took the momentum from the audition into the Top 20. Moseley flew through this stage and had a big performance in the Top 14 with “Makin’ Me Look Good Again”.

He’s the prototypical country singer who will go deep in the competition. With Harper and Moseley attracting the country voters, they both should have that segment of the population.

Moseley is one of the safest bets in the American Idol Season 22 betting odds to make the Top 5.

American Idol Season 22 Best Sleepers

Three American Idol sleepers have caught my attention at BetOnline. Despite these artists not having the best odds to win American Idol Season 22, it’s always wise to have small bets on a few dark horses:

Julia Gagnon (+1400)

Julia Gagnon is one of those singers who absolutely needs the right song to excel. As the final person to audition for Season 22, the 21-year-old college student made a nice impression on the judges with an Aretha Franklin classic, before heading to Hollywood.

If she receives a poor draw and gets the wrong song, she doesn’t stand much of a chance. Conversely, if Gagnon does have songs that showcase her range, she should have a chance to win at +1400.

KB (+1400)

Kaibrienne “KB” Richins has a solid chance of reaching the Top 5 as an underdog. She has a raspy, unique voice with wonderful control that differs from the competition. Will voters like it enough to send her far in this competition? I believe so.

Jordan Anthony (+1600)

I was surprised to find Jordan Anthony as a +1600 long shot to win. As a bettor wagering on the American Idol Season 22 winner odds, I am not complaining. Anthony’s rendition of Sia’s “Titanium” made him a fan favorite in Hawaii. It will be tough for him to compete with the top contenders after going to the Top 14 Bottom 6 sing-off this past week, but a small play on the Aussie is worth it at this price.

American Idol Season 22 Predictions and Betting Pick (Updated)

Sunday night’s episode saw two singers go home before reaching the Top 8. Mia Matthews and Sam “Kayko” Kelly-Cohen received the bad news after failing to impress. While there was a small shock that the latter went home, neither were top contenders to win.

On Monday, only one contestant left the show, with Kaibrienne “KB” Richins receiving the bad news. Subsequently, judge Katy Perry saved McKenna Breinholt from elimination. She was lucky, but she is also tied for the longest American Idol Season 22 odds at +1000.

I was surprised by Jack Blocker, who should probably have stronger odds after his performance this past week. He had been on the back burner, but his rendition of “Always on My Mind” peaked some ears.

If you are looking for a longshot pick to win American Idol, Blocker is your best bet at +1000. Another strong week from Blocker could reduce his price to win.

Nevertheless, Abi Carter remains my top American Idol Season 22 pick. She has been my top selection from the start, while Julia Gagnon was my original sleeper selection weeks ago. Carter’s recent performance of Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” received high marks with the viewers.

Additionally, Carter has top value to win at +450, so consider backing the dynamic 21-year-old from Indio, California.
