Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 12

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

LG Twins vs. Kiwoom Heroes: Twins -1.5 (-155)

The Twins are in a strong position to follow up yesterday’s 8-3 victory with another convincing win over the Heroes. LG has the more reliable offense and draws a favorable pitching matchup against a Kiwoom starter who has struggled badly in his limited time in the rotation.

Im Chan-kyu enters with a 4.53 ERA and 1.45 WHIP, but this matchup gives him a chance to settle in. The Heroes have been one of the KBO’s least productive offenses, ranking last with a .244 team batting average and only 383 RBIs. That lack of run production should make it easier for Im to navigate the Kiwoom lineup.

The Heroes send Jhun Jun-pyo to the mound, and he’s been vulnerable since moving into the rotation. Jhun owns a 6.38 ERA and 2.07 WHIP and has made only two starts after spending his previous 10 appearances as a reliever. That limited starting experience is a major concern against an LG lineup capable of putting runs on the board.

Kiwoom’s offensive struggles only increase the pressure on Jhun to keep the game close. With LG coming off an eight-run performance and holding the overall offensive advantage, the Twins should have opportunities to build an early lead and maintain it for one of the best KBO bets today.

Samsung Lions vs. KIA Tigers: Tigers (-130)

The KIA Tigers have the pitching advantage in this matchup, making them one of the better KBO bets on the board. James Naile gets the start and has been one of the Tigers’ more dependable arms this season, while Samsung counters with Austin Voth, who has struggled since arriving in Korea.

Naile enters with a 3.85 ERA and 1.18 WHIP through 21 appearances, including a solid 3.50 ERA against the Lions in 2026. He has consistently limited opposing offenses and should be capable of keeping Samsung’s lineup under control in this matchup. Current 2026 statistics also have Naile at a 3.85 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 121.2 innings.

Voth, meanwhile, has yet to find his footing with the Lions. He owns a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP through his first two KBO starts, allowing eight earned runs in just eight innings. After making the transition to Korean baseball, Voth has struggled to settle in and has given KIA an opportunity to attack early.

The contrast between the two starters gives the Tigers a clear edge. Naile has already demonstrated success against Samsung, while Voth is still searching for consistency. If Naile delivers another quality outing, KIA should have enough offense to take advantage of Voth’s struggles.
