Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 15

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

Kiwoom Heroes vs. KT Wiz: Wiz -1.5 (-120)

The KT Wiz have the offensive advantage in this matchup and should be able to pull away from the Kiwoom Heroes. With KT leading the KBO in batting average and Kiwoom’s pitching struggling, the Wiz are the preferred runline play for one of the best KBO bets today.

Oh Won-seok has endured a difficult season, carrying a 5.59 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. However, his recent form has been much more encouraging, as he’s allowed just one earned run in three of his last four appearances. That improvement should give him confidence against a Kiwoom offense that ranks last in the KBO.

The Heroes are hitting only .245 as a team and have managed 76 home runs and 394 RBIs. With such limited offensive production, Kiwoom could have trouble keeping pace if KT’s lineup gets going.

The Wiz lead the league with a .280 team batting average and should have plenty of opportunities against Ha Yeong-min. The Kiwoom starter enters with a 4.60 ERA and 1.48 WHIP and has struggled badly of late, surrendering 10 earned runs across his last two starts.

The pitching matchup may not be dominant on either side, but KT’s offensive firepower gives the Wiz the clear advantage. If their league-leading lineup takes advantage of Ha’s recent struggles, KT should have enough scoring to create separation.

Doosan Bears vs. KIA Tigers: Over 9.5 (-120)

The Doosan Bears and KIA Tigers have the makings of a high-scoring matchup, making the over 9.5 runs an appealing play. Both starting pitchers have struggled badly of late, creating an opportunity for both offenses to put up plenty of runs.

Choi Seung-yong enters with a 5.53 ERA and 1.52 WHIP through 17 appearances and is coming off a difficult stretch. He’s allowed 19 earned runs over his last four starts, showing just how vulnerable he has been when facing opposing lineups recently.

KIA counters with Yang Hyeon-jong, who has also struggled to maintain his usual consistency. Yang owns a 4.52 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 19 games and has surrendered 10 earned runs over his last two starts. If those recent struggles continue, Doosan should have opportunities to score early and often.

Neither starter enters this matchup with much momentum, and both offenses should be capable of taking advantage of mistakes. If either pitcher exits early, the game could also become increasingly dependent on the bullpens, creating additional scoring opportunities.

With Choi and Yang both allowing runs at an elevated rate recently, expecting a low-scoring contest is difficult. The 9.5-run total is attainable if both offenses capitalize on the pitching vulnerabilities.
